Player Templates / Re: Necro/Mage/Tamer
« on: August 19, 2009, 06:13:36 AM »
Well it is going well so far I have got my taming up to 104.4 and have locked in all my other skills except spirit speak which is sitting at 78.7 and rising.  Been taming ridgebacks for a day and a half and the gains are slow.  Here is an example

Yesterday went from 102.1 to 104.2 and I tamed literally all day and night.  Well a script was doing it but pretty much all day and night.  I hope to be done by the end of the weekend as I have a greater all ready in the stable and would love to get him bonded asap.  He is a weak draggy but he will work as a start until I can work my honor and go tame a more suitable one.

I have found all of my gear except for the craftable pieces (i.e. legs, arms, and head) but I will likely have to get the barbed runics and make that myself.

Woot 104.5 just got a gain while I was writing this.

Edit 107.9 Aug 21st

Why bother to take magery to 120? There really arent any offensive lvl 8 spells, and at 110 magery you NEVER fail at the lvl 7 spells..I think taking magery to 120 is a waste of 10 skill points...

in my opinion of course...

Actually, at 106 magery you won't fail magery spells of lvl 7 so there are 14 points to play with.

What i am doing is using a script to tame ridgebacks.  What it does is find a ridgeback follow it tame it and then kill it.  Then it moves on to the next one.  The problem is that the script walks up to pargagon ones sees that it can't tame it and inititates its kill cycle.  The kill cycle is a combo of explosion and ebolt only problem is one of these combos is not enough to kill a paragon.

Code: [Select]
sub kill
msg all follow me $ ; pet kill
msg all follow me $ ; pet kill
wait 5
set #ltargetid %1
;msg all kill $  ; pet kill
event macro 15 42
target 6s
event macro 22 0
wait 2s
event macro 15 41
target 6s
event macro 22 0
* i think somewhere in here I want to check to see if it is dead and then run the kill sub again if not but I have no idea how to do this*
Code: [Select]
wait 2s ; 2s magery, 8s pet kill
;msg all follow me $ ; pet kill
return

You could check PRIOR to taming if it's a paragon.

An event property on each one you find and if "paragon" is in the property then gosub and do your killing.

Problem is if a paragon savage shows up wont I be attacking it?

I am so newb at scripting you really need to tone it down for me guys I don't fully understand what you are saying.  Sorry I am trying but it is still a whole bunch of confusing for me.

General UO Chat / Question regarding Necro spells
« on: August 18, 2009, 04:29:09 AM »
I want to figure out at what point I will not fail to wither on a necro mage.  I found a calculator for magery that tells me that at 106 skill I will not fail to do level seven spells but I can not find a complementary one for necromancy.  The reason I ask this is I have a template that is going to be really tight and I need to squeeze whatever I can out of it to make it work.

This is the magery one at stratics but I see no necro one

Code: [Select]

I am using the following sub for killing ridgebacks after I tame them but am having a little problem.  I can get it to attack the paragons after it realizes it can't tame it but I want for it to check if it is dead or to repeat the kill if not dead but am unsure how to do that.  Can anyone help?

Code: [Select]
sub kill
msg all follow me $ ; pet kill
msg all follow me $ ; pet kill
wait 5
set #ltargetid %1
;msg all kill $  ; pet kill
event macro 15 42
target 6s
event macro 22 0
wait 2s
event macro 15 41
target 6s
event macro 22 0
wait 2s ; 2s magery, 8s pet kill
;msg all follow me $ ; pet kill
return

Why not have both like my setup?
Sure it takes just the right jewels but be creative.

Yea your current karma will matter. It will also depend on what you're killing. For example, I don't think anyone loses karma on bulls, but you do on some of the lesser creatures. Send me what you have and I'll post 2 versions

PM sent ... also keep in mind one would need to be guilded I believe in order to kill a tamed pet cause if you are unguilded I dunno if you can damage it.

I can send you what I did to it because really all I had to do was to remove a few lines of what you wrote in order to make it not release and just kill.  Of course now the menu doesn't make sense because it asks about release options when it does not release.  I have not experienced any karma loss whatsoever by killing the tames but I have neg karma already and am not sure if that matters.

Thanks for looking into it.  It still works reasonably well for me so no big deal. Up to 995 and climbing :).  Got to say this script is a godsend and is saving my sorry butt and sure beats the heck out of carpel tunnel syndrome.

EDIT: If you were to remove the release animal function it would probably solve the problem.  I see no karma loss or anything from killing a tamed pet.  Just tame and then mage kill it.  I just removed the release option and am testing it out now and it seems to work so far 15 mins and no crashing as of yet.
