Player Templates / Scribe/Necro ideas..
« on: May 05, 2011, 12:46:49 AM »
Turning a standard 120'd necro/mage to a scribe/necro but the mana is a bit of a problem...

Currently:
120 mage
120 eval
120 resist
120 ss
105 necro
100 scribe
35 med

I'm a big fan of strangle and wither for field fights so I've stubbornly set necro to 105 but if i cant resolve my issues regaining mana I may consider a drop.

I'm sporting 14 MR which obviously is not sufficient. Just joined this toon to factions so I've got some options there. I guess my question is, what are the possibilities of getting by on these skills with the help of some skill bonus and additional MR. Anyone have experience gearing this temp?

Personally I would drop Chivalry completely, take Ninjitsu down to 80, Tactics down to 90 and take Fencing to 120 so your special moves cost 5 less mana, and you'll be able to disarm/bleed people. Also 80 Ninjitsu should be enough for you to get into llama form most of the time :) Just something to think about.
There's [Min] dude that plays that temp on LS. He's very effective. Typically opens with a bleed(mages) or disarm (dexs) an spams mortal for the most part. It does seem, however, that he struggles to stay in the fight once he's been dumped on. Not to steal the thread or anything but what would be the most effective means to buff up this templates defense/healing ability?

Welcome to SUO, and thanks for the nice intro! Restriced status is lifted so feel free to have a look around.

P.S.

"one girlfriend (34D/real)."     You know what they say, pic or it never happened!
I'll see what I can do. Pay close attention to this thread in the near future.

Thanks for the welcoming.

Greetings everyone! My name's Josh and I'm from Fargo, ND (yes like the movie, no we don't really talk like that). Like most everyone here, I'm a long time UO subscriber. I'm just recently returning from a two year break. I've been playing UO on-again-off-again for about 10 years. I began back in middle school and phased in and out throughout high school, quit for college, and now I'm finally somewhat established as a legitimate contributor to society so I feel I've earned the right to return again to this legendary game.

I'm a major closet nerd. When I'm not playing UO I can be found deer hunting, ice fishing, playing pond hockey, and drinking beer in my underwear. I'm 23 yrs old with no kids and one girlfriend (34D/real). Currently working on teaching her the ways of UO so she can fund my PvP endeavors. She's of the very rare breed that is "smoking hot broads that game". I'm very lucky.

My interests in game, are all but entirely PvP related. That's not to say I'm an outstanding Pvper. I just prefer that side of the game.

My scripting history is pretty limited. I was first introduced to the concept at a time in my life when taking the time to thoroughly research and understand such things seemed pointless when I could just copy/paste, push play and be done with it. But now, as I mentioned, I'm a bit more stable and I am eager to learn at least the basics of scripting to enhance my gameplay as well as my girlfriend's. I'm an engineer by nature so making things more efficient is something I can relate to. That said, I plan to make the most of the resources here at SUO and learn fundamentals of this art form. Lastly, I wanna thank TrailMyx and company for creating this site/program. What you guys have done here is excellent! You're contributing to the longevity of a great game. Thank you for that.
