holy cow this is a wall of text now. its interessting to type down the own history with this awesome game. before your read please bear with me, english isnt my native language.
i cant remeber exactly what year it was but i was playing lineage2 on a freeshard. after a while i get bored from the hard grind and a guild member told me about ultima online. he welcomed me on a costum sphere server called "Dabo". own map own system everything there had nothing to do with osi itself. played there for 2 years until the community shrinked more and more. i searced for another UO server together with a friend i met at Dabo.
i came to Vetus Mundus a german run uo freeshard. this server was so freeking easy compared to dabo where killing a deer was a challange. i learned about champs an britian and the UO map. we joined a friendly guild real fast and all of them where totaly blown away from our playe style. cross healing was the key, they dont play much with cross healing that wasnt important on vetus mundus. but on dabo you wont finish the easiest dungeon without it. after they watched us they decied to give us good items and use us against PKs. PvP was normal for us beacause dabo had only one faccette and there was full Pvp with full loot. we dont know stuff like trammel... i enjoy it alot to make pvp and stuff. my friend was bored, the guild gave us the best stuff and my friend dont see any fourther sense to play on this shard. i played without him vor half a year but then there was an argument in my guild and the guild breaks in many pieces.
now we get the super idea to host our own server (with hookers and blackjack
). it was a pretty boring run uo shard, no scripting and stuff. i had fun to respawn and re decourate all the dungeons. everyone was pissed about it because they love their old dungeons.
we run the server for a year then we admit that we dont have the skill for our own uo server. oh the server was called "armathil" i dont liked the name from beginning until end but this is another story.
i played other MMOs but always was thinking about UO. i told a RL friend about the game and he want to try it. but now i was in the mood for something different. so we endet on a full RP server. templates you can choose and they can only progress when you type a character story in the forum. super nerdy stuff and we enjoy it alot. well the admins from this server "schattenwelt" get weirder and weirder and implementet more and more rules that no one understands. so we leavt the server.
now, 4 years later im back again for more UO. found a server that i enjoy alot and hope to play along for many many hours. :>
