Done!

50.0-95 took almost a full day. Zero hangups. I used a 60 tinkered box & gm box.
95.0-96.2: 1 hour in Twisted Weald with a 60 tinker box.

Went and trained tinkering to 65 and made a new box. :-/

96.2-99.6: 3 hours in Twisted Weald using the 65 tinkered box.
99.6-100.0: SOT .4

Nice script 12x!

Now to go farm some level 6 maps, and tweak out a T-Hunter template! :)

Started with 65 tinkerd traped box and gm traped box and 50 lockpicking went from 50 to 70 in 2 hours just wondering since lockpicking is target bassed if u added in more 65 tinkerd boxes and more gm boxes if would gm faster just thought.  Great Script

Update got alacricity scroll and used it and went from 70 to 80 in hour probley be even faster if i would of had more than one

There were changes made some time ago that completely removed the benefit of having multiple boxes so I don't think you would gain faster with more than one.

Glad it's working for ya though! I'm starting to get back in game a little and I'll be wrapping up another t-mapper myself :)

80 to 85 in hour and half still going strong tip for people that have the satyr run away from them alt left click the satyr and you will follow the satyr around but becareful the satyr is crafty one he will run you into the sparkels to get u out of dungeon so long as u keep check will be fine. another tip if your lucky enough to get a paragon satyr you get discorded for more

85 to 90 hour and 25 minutes
90 to 100 two and half hours used couple of alacricity scrolls

I have not yet tested the RoT timer so I have left 2.0 available to download in case the 2.1 changes cause issues. If anyone has a chance to test this please, please, please let me know how it goes!

Well you won't need a GM box for a while anyhow LOL. I'll see if I can get something going later, just already have two characters on both Mugen and SP so it's not easy for me to test. Guess I could kill one of the chzrs on Mugen since I never did much with them.

Hey 12.  I just started up a new treasure hunter and while training lockpicking noticed I stopped gaining at 55.0 while picking my 60 Tinkered Box.  I changed it to start working on the GM Tinkered box at 55.0 and started gaining like crazy again.

Just thought you'd like to know.

Interesting, I wonder if this got tweaked at some point because I've used that skill level for training 7 or 8 times. I'll check it out and adjust as necessary, thanks for the info Gudah.

Thanks 12X used this to work up a Treasure Hunter on Sonoma.

I had a 70 tinkerer on one account that I took to the twisted weald and got discorded which took me to 50. So I ended up using a 50, 70 and 100 GM made boxes.

Took most of yesterday and part of today. Very fast compared to how it used to be back in the day. Went to 98.1 and SoT'd the rest.

C2's follow script helps a ton too! ;)

Works great, but once I got to 70 it doesn't recognize that I'm on Siege and keeps picking after gains...

*** Edit: ***
Ok, I found the problem.
In your Sub Skillcheck change set !RoTShards Siege_Perilous  to  set !RoTShards Siege
it doesn't like the underscore between Siege and Perilous
then change  if #Shard in !RoTShards && !CurrentSkill >= 700 && !GainedSkill > !LastGain
to  if !RoTShards in #Shard && !CurrentSkill >= 700 && !GainedSkill > !LastGain

Works great now... I'm guessin' you didn't have a Siege char to test it with...
Great script, btw..

Correct, I never did test this one on SP but I do have it integrated with a number of other scripts. I had a spelling issue that I had to go back and fix. Nobody else ever mentioned anything so I never looked back lol.

The odd thing is that #SHARD does indeed list it as "Siege Perilous" not "Siege" so I don't think it's the underscore causing the issue (underscore replaces the space in EUO). I wonder if you actually were dealing with my spelling issue after all, maybe you downloaded this script before I fixed it? I had spelled Siege as Seige   :-\

I do have a couple of SP characters, I'll go play around at some point. Shame on me for throwing something out there that was potentially broken!

Oh, and see if your char times out because of "inactivity".  I ended up switching out opening backpack to triggering a hide every 3 mins on Siege (since the timer is 12mins from 90 to 100)...

Yes, but if you're doing this in your secluded home with little "outside" activity (ie not sitting at luna bank) then UO's "inactivity" code kicks in and opening a backpack isn't sufficient apparently.  I changed it to hiding every couple of mins and I don't timeout any more...

I trained many guys up to 120 on Siege in my castle doing all sorts of skills using the open backpack method every 2 or 3 mins  during my 15 min waits - so unless something has really changed or there is a coding error I would try it again Gran.

Dunno for sure... All I can tell you is that I timed out twice for inactivity before I switched to hiding....  I'm convinced it depends on how much player/mob activity is in your area.  I could probably sit at luna bank for 1/2 hr...  ;)

This is I think is the level of box u need to gain.  I was stuck at 25.  had to create a new new with 50 lockpick.  I still need to try to figure what happen too

30 to 50 need a box from 30 tinker
50 to 75                           50 tinker.  Gm box work too, just use lot pick
75 to 95                           Gm Tinker

Cush -

Can you tell me what skill your tinkering was at for the lower level box? I know Ghost seems to have some opinions on the box skills as well however I have built at least a half dozen lockpickers using this script and the instructions in the first post of this thread. If you gained from 29 to 35 with the first box I highly doubt you need a lower level tinkered box than the 65 I suggested originally.

It has been a while since the last time I built one however so it's possible that something has changed in game.

Post by: Cush on October 28, 2015, 08:37:58 AM
Thanks for the reply and help

The boxes are made with carpentry so that was at 65. Tinkering was probably 100.

Maybe I misunderstood the directions.

The boxes are based off the tinkering level? lol classic
Title: Re: XIIxOveR's Lightning Lockpicking Trainer
Post by: 12TimesOver on October 28, 2015, 09:18:32 AM
Yes, your Lockpicking skill is going against the difficulty level of the actual locks on the boxes, not the boxes themselves, and this is connected to your tinkering. You will see a message when you create a box that says something about you having sufficient Tinkering skill to lock it, or something like that. You can have next to no Carpentry to make small boxes and that's fine. It's the Tinkering skill.

It can be annoying to create a character with the exact correct Tinkering skill but it's pretty much the way it goes with Lockpicking.

Hey Crisis and Gimlet - I know this is a major post rez but wondering where this ended up. Did you ever figure out what the issue was? I just uploaded a 2.3 (just some minor tweaks on some things I noticed when training a new toon this week) but was thinking about adding an option for a 3rd box for low-level training, would love to squash a Siege bug if there is one at the same time.

Thanks!

Another day, another update...

Script updated to include lower level tinkered boxes for faster/more efficient training if starting with 30ish skill from NPC instead of 50.

Still haven't had a chance to test the RoT though so whatever is going on there I haven't looked at yet.
