General UO Chat - Freeshard edition / UO New Beginnings Server!
« on: August 26, 2020, 05:37:41 PM »

Server: uonewbeginnings.ddns.net
Port# 2593

I've dedicated so many years to Ultima Online. I started out a cotton picker back in the year of 1997 in the lands of Chesapeake. After many moons of finding my chosen path, I decided to take my skills to the new lands of Great Lakes. In the year of 2005, I moved once again to my home of Atlantic. I spent many of my days and nights building a name for myself as the Great Crafter Guinness. I was sought by many to make the items to help defend and protect themselves.

It was a little over a year ago that I decided that many of the people in my lands were poison and could not find a cure to help them. A few of us decided that it was time to let go of our once beloved lands and move on.

It was then that I decided to work on New Beginnings. I wanted to see the world that I grew to love become it's glorified self, once again. The toxicity was gone and the relaxation became itself again. I now offer this land back to you. If you are looking for that sense of feeling again, then I offer you my Lands. This is the up to date version of UO and the calmness (other than that red that might kill you, but buy you a drink after) you remember.

I welcome you to New Beginnings. This is NOT a pay to play or play to win style game. I have built a very customized Vet Reward system with great items within it. You also get skill boosts as well as time goes on. I have set it to give you 1 point per 10 days active for a Vet Reward. As more join, I will have Solo and Guild events every week with lots of great drops and even custom drops and custom monsters. I bring to you the old school feels with great rewards and a low income, but with a stable economy.

Come one and all to New Beginnings!

Crafting / Getting easy All 70's Resists
« on: November 18, 2012, 12:17:05 PM »
Here is the simple way to get all 70's resists on a suit and still have room for good mods. It took me a while to learn how to do this since no one wants to share their secrets with other crafters lol.

All you need is a salvage bag, and all the colored leathers so you can pick through them t get the resists you want. My personal preference for armor crafting is barbed leather, unless i am making a sampi suit without reforging or enhancing to get the fire resists high (the cheapest way for an order on a poor person).

When you are crafting a suit for you or someone else, the best thing to do before the imbuing process is to get at least 3 70's in your resists. I have found through my years of crafting that it is not easy to get that on physical resist, so it is better to imbue that resist up.

Energy is the easiest to get to 70 before imbue, so i always try to get cold poison and energy to my 70's that way you will have only a few pieces to imbue the resists on so you have all the extra weight for nice mods. Pretty simple once you hear how it's done. ;)

i know this isn't an uber thing to have a post on, but hey, it took me a while to figure that part out on my own and kept getting frustrated when i would make a suit and have to imbue a lot of resists and had no room for the mods i wanted.

I hope this helps someone out as it will make your suit crafting much easier and like i said, saves room for the mods.

Never forget to PoF before imbue =)

UO-Related Tutorials / Sampire Suit Made Easy
« on: November 14, 2012, 12:35:25 PM »
hello, and welcome to my very first post on Crafting. I wanted to show you all an easy way to make a great sampire suit using regular leather and spined runic kits. You will also need a Forged Metal Tool of Artifacts (5 charges) and Mace and Shield Glasses. To start off, make some leather (Regular) pieces and try to keep your resists as high as you can (as always) =) After you get your pieces finished, get some Spined Runic kits and do these options
-Powerful Reforging
-Grand Art
-Inspired Art
(Name 1 - Vicious/of Slaughter)

All you want on your pieces will be 5 Hit Chance Increase (HCI) and nothing else. You might use a few spined kits, till you get the right mod you are looking for. Once you have the 5 HCI on your pieces, Powder Of Fortify all your pieces to desired Durability (255/255 is best), then you are now ready to imbue =)

Start off with lower mana cost 8 as you will use relic fragments on this mod (if you do this after other mods, relic fragments do burn away on non successful imbues)

Make sure you do your resists 2nd, that way you are guaranteed to hit your 70's. I always do 3 fire resists at 20 so you can get the 85 to fire for Vampire Embrace, so that way you will still be 70 fire after spell is activated.

I have added the image of my suit to give you an idea of how to do the mods and the resists.

Always remember to add in the material bonus as you will be doing it in horned or barbed leather for enhancements.

Leather Enhancements are as follows

-Barbed Leather gives you
2
1
2
3
4

-Horned Leather Gives You
2
3
2
2
2

Enhance the pieces that will get you your 70 resists. Most of the time, you will only be using Horned for the added fire, however, 1 or so pieces might need to be enhanced with Barbed, to add into the other resists so that you are to be at all 70's

you want the resists to be
70
95
70
70
75

If you have any added questions to making this suit, feel free to ask  I hope you enjoy this post and thank you all! There will be much more to come. I'm not a scripter, but I can help in this way lol
Enjoy -Guinness-

New member introductions / I am Guinness
« on: November 14, 2012, 09:01:42 AM »
Hello everyone. I am Guinness from Atlantic and I am all craft and no play. I just stumbled upon this nice site a few minutes ago, and am looking forward to trying out some things, giving some ratings, and hopefully sharing some of my own scripts as well :) I spend most of my game life since 1997, crafting for all to be great. I am just now starting to venture into runic fletching and dovetail kits, and finding it very time consuming lol. But i will survive! I am very glad to have found this site and hope it is still very active :)

A bit-O-Guinness: I started out on the server Chese back in 1997 when UO was still very fresh to the world. I began my journey as a lonely crafter looking for a life in a world of reds and polite killers. My first real red experience was with a man named David Wallace, who later on became a life long friend of mine. I was all alone, picking cotton for gold outside of moonglow, when a man dressed up like a mage approached me and began to ask what I was doing all alone, so far from town. I began to explain to him that i was only out to pick some cotton and was going to retreat back to MoonGlow and turn it into the tailor shop for some gold. He asked me how much cotton I had and if i needed any assistance on getting back to town. I replied with " no sir, I can manage just fine, but thank you for the offer". He said that it was his pleasure and began to Cor Por me to death. With only my smith hammer, some cotton, and a pack horse, I was defenseless to his magery skills. I died with a smile. After my sudden death, Mr. Wallace brought be back to life and decided that he needed to keep my cotton for cost of the reagents that he used to kill me and bring me back to life. I agreed, as I did use some of his reagents to take damage and I also did need to be brought back to life, so i obliged.

Mr. David Wallace and I played together for nearly 10 years until he had a fatal car accident several years back. May he R.I.P.

After his death, I moved to Great Lakes with my crafter and began to make a name for myself there, until i was met with a Guild called DC, and we did not see eye to eye. That being said, I was forced to take my belongings and moved my crafters to Atlantic where I have found a new home and have mad Guinness a very good name for himself and enjoy crafting for everyone and run a vendor mall with the best prices on Atlantic today! I have owned the guild name Crafters Of Britannia for almost 6 years now, and that is also the name of my shop.

I craft to peoples needs. I only sell to them if they are 100% satisfied with the suit and all they need. If not, back to work. I do a wide range of suits from starter sets, to 500m+. I cater to all and just try to help :) I am not planning on going anywhere. Guinness is here to stay :)

Most like to call me a noob, and I can accept that, even though I have been here since the beginning, I am a noob to things like pvp, being an ass, being a child, and so on and so forth. =) I do not PvP, as I am a pure crafter / gatherer. But beware. My gatherer does pack a mean punch as many have found through the years. I am a fel man, and forever will be. Just the other day I had 2 mages approached me in Minoc and decided to try and gank me and take my iron. That did not go so well for them as they both fell to my axe. But I do not PvP. I only craft things for PvP  ;)

If you ever see my gatherer Franklins Tower wondering fel, please feel free to say hello, as I am just out to gather items, not to fight, however, I will if need be. ehehe
