UPDATE v2.0: MAY 03, 2014
- Huge optimization of the code. Converting is a lot faster now
- Got rid of .dll
- Fixed converting of newer .uop files into .mul files
- Added feature to repack the .mul files into .uop files... Now you can edit your .mul files and reconvert them back into .uop

Please let me know your results if you try this.

So, basically I have spent the last few days working on this project. With the help of wyatt's Ultima.dll I was able to complete it.

So, this little .net program will convert your .uop files into .mul files. It works with current version of UO as of May 2014.

So now you can get up-to-date .mul files to use with EasyUO, for proper tile scanning, UOFiddler, or for whatever purpose you might find for them. With version 2.0 you can repack them back into .uop files.

Just point the program to the folder where your .uop files are, and choose an output folder.

Let me know if you find any issues!

You can get Files to run Stealth 4.0 and Higher with latest Patch
You can get Files to get Tiles\Maps\Items working for Openuo and Easyuo
You can get Files to read Art\Sound\Tiles\Maps for UOFiddler
You can get Files to get old Runuo versions working. Some Shard Authors cant just upgrade there shard to latest Runuo, this will help for more Support
You can Modify the getting Files and run with 7.21.0.1 or Lower Clients and support Client Modifications :)

Step 1 ) Target your Ultima Online Classic Folder as Source
Step 2) Target your Outputfolder ( in sample as "Output" in the Bin folder ) where to autocreate Mulfiles ( i suggest not using C:\ because of File-System-Rights from Windows )
Step 3 ) Press Convert
Stept 4 ) Wait until its done. I suggest to not overuse your computer since the converting need a few Resources
Stept 5) Copy Content from "OutputFolder" into your Ultima Online classic Directory.
Step 6) Enjoy full working EUO\OEUO\Stealth\Fiddler\Runuo

I haven't used UOAM in ages, but I'm pretty sure it can be fixed using this, if it needs the .mul files.

It probably can and I just don't know how to do it. I converted the files to mul and put them in my uo file also put them in the uoam file but its still not working for me. If someone could post a fix for uoam it would be awesome. I love that map and had it working for awhile but for some reason it hasn't worked in the last few weeks.

For Data Manipulation you need to change back to uop. there are some editors out there for uop directly..

I'm not entirely sure how you couldn't get it to work?  There isn't much to screw up.  It works fine.

Keep Sure to have installed required .net and c++ Libraries. If i remember it right, .Net 4.0 were required.

Also keep sure to not Run any Client using those UOP Files ( Client try to block UOP files )

And as always => Run as Administrator

For runtime librarys i always use http://www.computerbase.de/downloads/system/all-in-one-runtimes/66247/
Its an AIO Runtime Installer from Germany.

If you need help understanding : "Installieren" means Install. It autoinstall all checked Packages

I certainly wasn't putting anyone down, nor did I intend on sounding overtly negative.  My apologies.

I meant to imply the utility is as simplistic as they come, there isn't really anything to do wrong.  Without more details, its impossible to understand what could not be working.

Thank you Neo for this awesome program!  I can mine again, woohoo!  Also just fyi for anyone else that uses this, I thought maybe I had to delete the old files but I just copied these files straight into the directory without deleting anything and it worked just fine.

Am i just insanely blind, i can't see the script, i would think there would be a link on the topic post but i simply can't see it. i see the gray code box with the updates but that only takes up 4 lines and theres no scroll bar in it, can it be due to chrome?

can anybody tell me that its not just me or?

fyi just joined 20 mins ago, can it be because i have to wait to be able to see it?

hope you guys can point me in the right direction...

Actually, I read about the changes to .uop files somewhere in the RunUO forums. So I copied the old code from the Ultima.dll into new classes within the old solution, deleted the dll itself, and adapted the code to those changes....

First of all congratulations on the program, it works like a charm, easy to use too.

Now maybe this wouldn't be the right thread for it but I was wondering if anyone could help me?
I am running the latest classic client version, converted the .uop into .mul but I still have problems with the tiles, can't run a dear mining script of mine :(
Any input on this?

I had the same issue with the tile still not working until i found a zip file of old muls. I installed them and it now works. Maybe, this doesn't work on the classic client but only on the enhanced? Either way if you need the mul files try these

Hello, I am trying to make an updated tree hack that can see EVERYTHING. but when I convert the shitwhore uop to mul using fiddler, then back to uop using the uopacker plugin on fiddler i can no longer see wall tiles and other newer tiles. Will this program allow me to see everything that i change in uo fiddler without creating unused tiles for the newer art in classic client?

Open UOFiddler and modify those muls
convert Mul 2 UOP?

I can take

artLegacyMUL.uop   and convert it to art.mul  and artidx.mul but when I tried to convert those back to UOP it tells me there are no mul files in that location...

You also could use the ultima.dll from neo to work with fiddler and read out UOP files directly.For that step you need to change the selection of mulfiles and replace them with UOP.

Essentially they will all have to applied at once. So I can't really make a bunch of little patches to pick and choose from.

Hi, ANy chance to update it.  It is not working now :(
