advice needed for better ping for UO

ok u verse is gone. i am now Charter Spectrum. it is blazing fast but my ping in game log in is 375ms. my internet is 65mbdl and 4.5 mbul. can anyone give me any advice. with u verse internet was 25 mbdl and 1.5 mbul but ping was 65ms. i am hard wired to the router. router is netgear R6300v2.

have you try to remove the router and connect directly to the modem to see if you have the same ping.  Maybe your router is dieying

Ghost is right, routers can start failing within a year, especially if you have had power surges or power outages. They still work, just not as well. I usually replace mine once a year, definitely by the 2nd year.

ok i did the tracert, ping and Log in and did a screen shot. Let me know what you think. The ping did eventually go down when i sit at the shard log in. I browsed to the screen shots. I am not sure if they will attach correctly. souldnt use the image shack. it said my 30 day trial was expired.

Does number seen correct to me.   Did you disconnect your router and just connect your PC to the wall directly ( modem).  I know that will shut down your house, buyt curious to see if you see a difference.

If you have slow internet, that can help, I have 50 Mb internet and I'm faster that my friend using WTFast.   On top you need to pay to use WTFast.

MeWonUO is having the same problems with UO.  THe ping is great outside of UO, but UO is just not getting a good ping and is very laggy.  Even the Tracert came back good and the ping to the server.

well talked to support at charter. they suggested i replace the brand new router that they provided. i am going to their office tomorrow. it makes no sense to me but worth a try. the tech said everything looked good on his side. he is a gamer i explained the lag and that is what he came up with.
