Title: Another "Never Forget"

Even though some people (http://www.whitehousedossier.com/2012/06/06/obama-scheduled-commemorate-dday/) chose to ignore D-Day.

Imagine what that must have been like. Over 9000 allied soldiers killed or wounded in a single day. I support our military and am glad that I served in a "modern" age of warfare.

Visited Arromanches, Pointe du Hoc as well as the American Cemetery in Colleville-sur-Mer a couple of years back.  Sobering.  One memorial wall depicts portions of the aerial campaigns preceding and part of Operation Overlord; a truly stunning application of air power that for many is overshadowed by the amphibious assault, running the gamut from cutting inland supply routes, to deception ops, to the airborne assault preceding the landing.

Think not only upon their passing
remember the glory of their spirit
