The UO tools community is just about as flakey as they come.  Pay no attention to the nearly abandoned ScriptUO however.  ;)

You would never drop us, would you?

As for the UOCommunity :
There were Tools coming and going, only euo and stealth and razor were always kicking...

No, I've abandoned you guys about as far as I can in good conscience.  :)

It's up to everyone to keep this community going.  I'm just keeping the light burning.

I'm using whatever resources are available.  Blue farts, flaming kittens, or bad checks.

Sad. I wont stop using it.

I wouldn't be surprised if many users are looking for a new home. Dunno where they'd land besides here

Perhaps it will help the Razor guys have some inspiration.  I never used it myself, but there seemed to be some interesting features.

The people on razor and over at RunUO are a bunch of bloated asshats. If they were even remotely open to change or inspiration whatsoever then projects like Steam will never have been required to be made in the first place. It's highly doubtful that they will take anything from Steam as "inspirational" because their default mode would be "We're too good to have an idea based off of something that fell apart. We are the best, don't question us.".

Razor is a decent project, steam was better. The people who manage razor are tools though.

Does anyone know if they discussed releasing the code for it as open source?

I heard that they did and refused to because doing so would enable devs to patch and fix/counter these things or something. Or atleast that's what was said.

Yeh, I've always been against releasing that kind of code.  Might be good for the community for a while, but then it allows the Devs to fix the methods used to enable the programs in the first place.  It's not rocket science, but you never want to hand the Devs a gift like that.

Here is the official message from the website

***Press Release from the UO Steam Project***

We are sorry to announce that this project has been discontinued!
Unfortunatelly we don't have the time and will to continue maintaining

that hobby, reason why both developers agreed that the best thing to do

is to terminate this project.
Our latest version 1.0.5 is considered stable (and includes the

documentation pdf file) but there will be no further updates
