Yea it definitely chews up time. Since each match is 30-45 minutes and quitting games has its consequences up to and including bans. Whats funny is my friend gave up diablo because he said he played it too long. So now instead of playing for 4 hours of diablo he plays for 8 half hours of lol.

I'm guilty of it too tho. Instead of doing something in UO (as repetitive as it may be), I'll spend sometimes twice as long writing a script just for the mental stimuli.

Games & Game Systems / League of Legends

I didn't see a thread for League of Legends, but a buddy of mine got me into it lately. So I figured I'd start a post and see what everyone thinks of the game.

I'm still pretty low level, which makes it difficult to play the PvP. And at first glance, the community is pretty toxic if you aren't pulling your weight. Gotta have a thick skin to play as trolls are pretty common there.

Things I appreciate about the game are the scale of it. Hell people play this professionally at an international level. There are Euro, North and South American, Asian and even African leagues that face off in tournaments. And the commentators narrarate the matches like its a soccer game! Game mechanics are complex, which is mainly an artifact of there being 170 different champions you can play as (you get 10 free at random a week and can buy more with points you pay for or earn in game), they all play off each other. Its like a really complicated game of rock, paper scissors!

Anyone else play?

I have a paragon >100 (I forget) Demon Hunter with an M6 set, turret build.

I'm ZigZagZebra on D3 as well. Its been a little while since I played, but I've had the itch as of lately since they announced at Blizzcon they are rolling out the ancient legendaries with higher stats than normal legendaries and changes to the marauders set.

Let me know if you're still playing, and we can roll through some rifts sometime!

when I was a Teenager, I used to work at Cinnabon..
though I never made it in the back to learn how to make the rolls, so in theory.. I ate more than I made...

Bahaha! Same goes for me at my highschool fastfood job, I was never a cook. And they used to cut corners around giving us breaks (as illegal as that is) and trade us food for breaks.

I had friends at other places getting free food and a break. What a scam!

Welcome Mel! Hope the scripts buy you more time to drive fast.

I know a guy who races a lot of bikes from where I'm at. His wife is biting her nails every weekend he does that!

Biggest thing you could benefit from at the price you are looking to pay is the high clockspeed of the current midrange CPU's. That's where I see the biggest improvement as compared to your current setup. Your chip now is a duo-core, but faster processing clockspeed -> multithreading doesn't lock threads as long.

The specs you have are really nice otherwise. So I'd honestly recommend buying a nice chip for that $500 you are looking to spend. Unless of course, you intend to spread those 8 clients out on to two cpus. Because that'd be faster yet, spreading both network traffic and CPU processes out.

Two questions for you: What model motherboard do you have? (you can find this through command prompt) and what is the current type of memory that you have in your system (DDR3, DDR2, etc..)?

I've included Tidus's link below from the shoutbox. Those are solid PC's, but I don't think you'll be able to beat the 8GB of RAM that you have, unless you currently use something less than DDR3 RAM. There are significant speed improvements between the memory types.

Rift / Re: Screenshots from RIFT
« on: February 03, 2015, 09:56:01 PM »
Yea I'm with ya TM, so far rift's mechanics are so complex I feel like I'm just treading water. Inching towards level 20 and doing rifts with strangers out there. We'll see if I can get the hang of it!

Has anyone figured out how to fix the issue regarding the error  tool_railengine30k.txt not found and no default config for char? Cant find a fix in the threads. This is not a message for TM as i know he is tired of these and he has better things to do on here like run a website :)

I know you mentioned you had ran this before with no issues, but are you using a different UO character, CPU or have you changed your EUO directories at all since then?

You should be able to correct the no default config for char error by going through the setup routine and saving. This just means the persistent variables are not found in your registry.

Two stupid questions coming here, just a heads up:

But have you actually downloaded the tool_railengine30k.txt separately?
It can be found as an attachment at the thread http://www.scriptuo.com/index.php/index.php?topic=16.0

And if you have, have you made sure its in the directory you have your EUO.exe?

Typically I run into 'rail error occured' with this script and a separate hw_trinket blah blah is out of range. That can happen if there is a lag spike and the recall to the heartwood portal didn't happen. This doesn't sound like what's happening to you.

I run this almost endlessly when I'm not actually playing UO. And the slayers do seem pretty few and far between. I have no reference to what it was, but I can say I've only gotten 2 vermin slayers, 1 ice slayer and 1 flame slayer taly running this for WeEkS!!

Script Debug / Re: house inventory
« on: January 22, 2015, 04:45:26 PM »
If this is a script where your char moves around I would think you could define the X and Y coordinates of your home and set your pathfinding or rail to keep your character at least as far as your G_ value is away.

I personally like the idea of creating a rail where you travel through every knook and cranny of your home and set the G_ value lower.

Good Luck!

Not in the sense that you'll be learning C, python or Ruby. But EUO is its own scripting language with unique syntax and 'ways of doing things'.

Hey guys, I'm VERY new to scripting, I'm working out how to edit scripts and such but need help if possible.
Can anyone link me to guides on these forums/and others that would benefit me knowing how to not write anything?
Any other advice would be greatly appreciated!
Thanks!

Step 1) Pray that Cheffe continues to support EUO. I'm knee deep in a few big projects so I'll be doing the same.

Step 2) Read Read Read! Start here: http://wiki.easyuo.com/index.php/Documentation?sid=7d32c73c74cd485baf0896c395516a26 Get the basics so you can read others scripts and know what the heck's going on. Then you can go on to read others' scripts. If your new to programming altogether, you'll need to learn to learn programming first. Then you'll need to learn to learn flow and using if statements to do everything!

Step 3) Modify/Write your own. You'll never learn to code if you don't do it. The key here is to preemptively forecast scenarios that may derail the code when you're writing something more complex.

Its a long but rewarding road. Godspeed!

Gold Farming / Re: Auto Honor and Attack
« on: January 20, 2015, 06:28:18 PM »
was wondering if anyone could explain why it wont pathfind? or run lightning strike appropriately, do i need to set some things in the script before taking off? I start it off, locate the lightning strike icon, all that Jazz and i press the hotkey to begin the script and Boom, i'm thrown into a perpetual loop of it casting enemy of one too many times, doesn't follow the target, i've got it Honoring the target tho that seems to be the most effective thing.

i play on alexandria if that helps explain something

also trying to put a bag of sending loop in there for gold, any help is greatly appreciated!

I don't run on Alexandria, but the lightning strike fires by a compare pixel in this script. This is basically looking to see if the lightning strike icon has changed and will fire dependent on that. If you don't setup the lightning strike icon properly, or if the icon doesn't change to red like it does on OSI you could have issues.

Just my $0.2
