IDOC tools / Re: TrailMyx's IDOC Monitor/Looter v1.0c

Yeah I learned pretty quick that just because I see something doesn't mean it's there. My script ignores the item as it should but I ran over and tried manually the first couple of times.  8)

I'm also learning quick that private houses tend to have inferior loot to public ones. I suppose that's because when someone has awesome items in their house they want everyone to see them. The sad thing is nobody cares what's in YOUR house, until it falls :)

Heh, buzzards, somehow I find that name very fitting of people who IDOC extensively. Waiting hours and days for a house to die in hopes of picking up some scrap pixels worth something to someone.

I went on an EM event tonight and was highly disappointed. I made the mistake of going on an archer with healing skill. Well, it was just one big zerg to get kill rights on a monster that could AOE stun the entire room and 1-shot kill everyone... except Sampires and Tamer pets. Healing skill is 100% useless after the first death because you no longer have bandages to use. Sure enough the lead sampy got THREE of the 20 limited EM items to himself and the other 17 went to tamers and other sampires. Even the guy in back doing nothing but ressing everyone got nothing and he probably worked harder than anyone.

Idocs don't seem so bad after that.

I just scooped up an entire PAC idoc to myself. It's a sad thing to be honest, I could tell the person was packing up their valuables before they quit by where/how/what was there. I got a lot of imbue mats but there was no soulforge, perhaps he banked his single tile soulforge? I got a lot of fish bowls with rare fish but no aquarium? A couple of BOD books suggest a tailor but no tailoring items/cloth were there. No resource box. He definitely packed up and left what he couldn't bank, he left a pack of old newb items such as practice swords and double exceptional furniture so he was either a hoarder or collector. The outside area of the house, which he took a lot of time to plan and build, had no items at all.

It's like being a ghost going through someone elses play life. It's eerie sometimes, lol.

Scripting Chat / Re: Vendor Search script, does one exist?
« on: November 20, 2014, 09:01:33 AM »
Yes, I think searchuo just uses bots to go around looking into packs. It covers all of Luna as well as some vendors outside of Luna. I wouldn't be surprised if searchuo is omiting known rares however since they want to get/sell/collect those themselves. If you search atlantic's vendor search for "catskills" for example you see a bunch of catskills EM event items but searchuo does not show you these items.

Anyway, right now I've got a wishlist of items in notepad++ and am manually using UO's "vendor search" to check them each one by one. Items like a "secret chest" are rarely on a vendor so if one shows up I want to know as fast as possible. That chest is from an Asian shard event and so isn't common on Atlantic(it allows 500 items to be stored in it, not 125).

So there isn't a search script that works with the default UO "vendor search" feature? I really don't want to wander around from vendor to vendor with a script since the vendor search feature already has that info.

I don't have a screenshot, just an idea, a script to run through a list of items I am looking for to tell me if yes/no the item was found. Since I'm going to use it to search for rares a simple found yes/no is enough since there won't ever be a lot of them.

Scripting Chat / Vendor Search script, does one exist?
« on: November 20, 2014, 07:17:43 AM »
I monitor vendor search occasionally for specific items on my "wish list" but this is becoming tedious as my list grows and so a script is in order! I did find a lot of scripts designed to check vendors but none that actually perform searches on UO's vendor search gump, did I miss one if it exists?

3rd party sites like searchUO help in finding some items but not as well as vendor search could because searchuo is limited by the fact they don't monitor ALL vendors and don't update as quickly.

If you know of an actual vendor search script that I can feed a list of items I am looking for into I'd be grateful if you could point me to it. Thanks.

IDOC tools / Re: TrailMyx's IDOC Finder v1.6
« on: November 19, 2014, 01:42:32 AM »
Definitely some changes. I got an idoc to myself only 2 hours into the final stage, I recalled to all my runes and found this one already down with nobody around. I also looted an 18x18 with 4-5 other people there and it was clean within 10 minutes. Being in a good spot I decided I'd try to take the spot too and on the first test try with my tool I got the 18x18 placed. Another idoc took the regular 4.5 hours to fall.

It used to take 1hr + a random amount of time more for a house tool to work, 1-2 hours total, but it seems like that first minimum hour is gone. I liked that I could show up 10-15 minutes before I knew it would be going down, this needing to wait hours is for the birds.

Welp, 4 IDOCS later(two of them with the above not-named gentleman present) and no disconnects. *fingers crossed*.

This evening was an awesome time to be looting IDOCs, I got two to myself as I suspect other scripters took a break since the patch shut down scripting. That and I hear a castle was going down sometime this evening on Sonoma so I imagine that took priority... who knows.

Good times though.

General UO Chat / Re: Dark Guardians not dropping 'of doom' items anymore?!
« on: November 17, 2014, 08:40:45 PM »
It seems that a lot of items from past turn-in events can no longer be had, they became rares, thanks to the hoarding of sell-for-cash sites. Example: Chest of Heirlooms. It could be turned in 10 at a time for tokuno treasures. If you unlocked it however it could no longer be turned in and it makes a great storage container. I think if you vendor one it will be gone within minutes too thanks to those websites that monitor vendor contents.

It doesn't matter which server you vendor it on either, it will end up transferred, eventually.

I doubt any item from this doom set of turn-ins will become as valuable, but who knows. One drop off the lich in Ilsh is called a death vortex and even though it's still dropping its rare enough that it's on these sellers lists of items to look out for and so it sells for 50m+. In general if it sells for under 1m it's a common item, no matter where it comes from. The reason is that 1m is the value of a check and it's not worth holding onto an item worth less than that or you have 1 item space taken by something worth less than a check.

Anyway, the arties seem to be dropping again.

Scripting Chat / Re: Finding more decaying houses - tools

Today one guy can check all locations on all shards in about 6 hours according to a "UO realtor". It takes me that long on one shard, lol, and I miss a LOT.

Anyway, I found a roadmap tool - http://www.codeproject.com/Articles/2628/Ultima-Online-Treasure-Hunter-Tools. Instead of marking tmaps I can mark houses so that when I'm running around I don't forget some as I go, and not wasted time running through trees as I can create a more efficient rune book set to skip long runs. By no means is it as detailed as say, something like this - http://www.uorenaissance.com/map/index.php?zoom=5&lon=1576&lat=2576 but it will do, for now.

Scripting Chat / Re: Quick "locked down" check
« on: November 16, 2014, 10:21:29 PM »
/facepalm, property....  thanks.

I was able to add a property check that, if it finds a locked down item, continues to check but once the lock down comes off the rest of the script runs without checking for locked down again. Works great. I really didn't want to get into IGNORE loops and didn't have to.

Atlantic? If so I bet the two server down periods today had something to do with it.

People are stockpiling the rewards, named items always sell well if they become unavailable again. Or, at least that was the case with older items... I'm not sure what impact having most shards dead will have on them now. I see prices of 333k to 500k per artie so they must be pegging the value of the turn-in items at 18-25 million. The boots are kinda cool. http://www.uo.com/article/Publish-87-TC

Perhaps learning how the exploit works would allow us to figure out how to avoid being knocked out of the game BUT I'd rather just deal with the problem parties that keep getting away with it. Obviously I don't mind scripting to automate tasks but I do have a problem with this particular activity since it's essentially a DOS attack(denial of service).

The best way to do a worldrunner would be Marking specific Spots where no house\Player would be there then walk aroudn the area dynamicly and port to next area.

Unless YOU are the worldrunner and you just want a map in your pocket pointing to which houses you haven't checked in a week. The whole "search the world for you" part of any idoc script isn't for me. I'm going to run around myself, I do it on my thief in Fel in case I find player marks, and I just want to miss fewer houses and not waste my time re-checking places I checked a few days earlier. Having a map marked by each sign I check would be helpful.

I can make a script record sextant co-ords near every sign I check, and print it to a file, but I'm not sure how I'd render that list onto a visual map. The mapping part doesn't need to be in game, it can be a desktop tool for example. It seems like it should be simple, but I'm still learning.

Anyway - just a roadmap of known house locations would be better than randomly running around checking.

Scripting Chat / Quick "locked down" check
« on: November 16, 2014, 11:42:41 AM »
Heya,

I'm tweaking a script and am having some trouble with locked down items. What's happening is that it tries to pick up an item once to read the journal for the locked down message but I'd rather it not do that. Is it possible to scan the item for "locked down" before trying to drag it? This would eliminate the need to check the journal at all for me. Here is a quick routine I'd be fitting it into... but am not sure how to do the check without initiating a drag event. I know it's simple but ... yeah, i must be tired cuz I'm not getting it, lol.

Code: [Select]
sub itemPickup
FINDITEM %itemList G_2
  IF #FINDCNT > 0
     {
     event Drag #findID
findItem %backpackId
set #findMod 139_217
     wait 20
     click #findX #findY p
     }

Thanks

I'm not going to call anyone out, that's not why I posted and who knows.. he might be a member here. Bottom line is that I WANT to mind my own business and do my thing but getting booted from the game instantly when the house falls, as in it's part of the script being run, well... I see two options.

#1 - Page a GM, explain what has happened in the past and what you see unfolding so they can watch. loot rares museum when it falls

OR

#2 - Ask that, if you recognize I'm talking about you, PM me so that we can work out how I will not be disconnected. I don't care what you're doing but you gotta stop knocking me out of the game one way or another.

There's another sweet IDOC going down in about 48 hours if it doesn't get refreshed, I'm hoping it's not the same BS... we'll see.
