I just recently got my sister into the GIMP.  She had it installed for months, but only recently got around to playing with it.  She was using Photoshop.

I've used both photoshop and GIMP really no major preference either way other than the fact that GIMP is well, free lol.

well i have use PhotoShop for years, and yes it was free too  :D  might give gimp a try
