My Intro

Hello All,

On the two free shards I currently play on (UOEX and Eventine) I am known as Ender.

My UO background goes back 20+ years to when I was in highschool in the late 90's, off and on.  Actually I got my Dad and my Brother playing also for a long time on Atlantic. Shortly after graduating high school I made some poor decisions, got kicked out of my parents house and had rather limited access to UO for a long time.  I got a new job working for a casino in 2009 where I met someone that played UO on a free shard.  I had no idea that UO was still around lol.  Being my all time favorite RPG I had to check it out... Still loved it even though now the game was very dated when it comes to graphics and such.  Still UO just has so much content and now with the ability to use third party programs (which were forbidden in the late 90's) and seeing all the new lands and new things to do I fell in love with UO all over again.  Even now I can spend an entire day playing UO (though I rarely get the chance these days with a wife and kid now).

One cool side note (i think it is cool anyway).  When my daughter was very young she would watch me play UO, and always ask me, "Daddy, when can I play?" I would always tell her, that this game has rules you have to follow, and you need to be able to read so that you know the rules and what to do to follow them.  A year or two ago when she was about 8, she could read and so I made her an account and she played with me some, that is kinda what got my Dad and brother back into it too.  We could all play together.  Of course, with the modern games that she has to play now, I struggle to keep her attention on UO, mostly because there are not many kids that play that she can socialize with like newer kids games.

So since 2009 I have been playing off and on pretty regularly.  I even still have my brother playing with me, we just started playing on Eventine a couple weeks ago.  It is very refreshing, and a great community to boot.

So, that pretty much sums up my UO career.  I have never been as good at scripting/coding as I wish I was (my dad is the pregrammer), but over the years I have gotten proficient with EUO and Razor, and fairly recently UOS, but I just started using Razor Enhanced... with RE I see how inadequate my scripting skills are, lol.  I have gotten better and honestly over the years, I have dabbled with trying to learn python anyways.  RE has given me a great excuse to get back into trying to learn python and I have... a little bit.

I will be completely honest, for now, my reason for joining SUO is to be a mooch.  That sounds bad but let me explain.  In learning to script in RE most of my abilities come from manipulating and piecing together other peoples scripts that I have found online to make them function the way I want them too.  I have tried creating my own scripts from scratch but so far have had little success other than just basic little scripts like organizers and stuff like that.  Currently I have been working on an attack script that will also apply some weapons buffs.  I have been struggling to find other scripts to compare to on this (mostly because I lack the... I will say syntax knowledge to do it myself from scratch.)  Long story short while I hope to one day contribute some scripts that others might find useful, for now that just isnt the case.

Lets see.  A little bit more about myself.  As mentioned before I have a wonderful wife, a ten year old daughter with red hair and an attitude, and a dog named Astrid(named after a char from How to train your dragon).  I still work in a casino as a supervisor/dealer in table games.  I spend alot of my downtime studying real estate (bought my first rental in 2019), Love spending time with family, taking my daughter to basketball and soccer games. Seems like I am forgetting something...  Oh, and playing UO every chance I get lol.  That is me in a nutshell.

Thank you and I look forward to troubleshooting code with you all.

Welcome to SUO! Thanks for your introduction - restricted status lifted - feel free to enjoy all the benefits of the site!

We use the term leecher, it is someone who comes only for the scripts and is never heard from unless they want help. You can use all the scripts you want and not be a leecher by being active in the community. Post and help others when you can. I knew next to nothing when I got here and now I can script well enough to break things but it is a great community and I just posted and got to know people.  8)
