If it has six legs, you can eat it.  If it has more than six, no good.

Carry on.

it's amazing what you'll eat if your hungry.
"If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle" - Sun Tzu in reference to his five points of victory.

My combat survival instructors tell their students never to eat spiders.  Most of them will cause you more harm than good.  Or enough of them that you don't want to mess with the few that are ok, I guess.

Anything with six legs is an insect, and almost always safe to eat.

Anything with eight legs is (probably) an arachnid and not recommended.

Anything with more than that is definitely not a good idea.

I hear millipedes are delicious right up until you die.
