When I click a new post link in the chat box, it takes me to the post. The problem is that the forums don't register that I viewed it and it still shows on the forums as unviewed even if I have refreshed.

Yeh, I was noticing that.  You'll have to just mark the forums read for now until I can figure that out.

Edit:  I checked at SMF on this.  It's actually a long term bug that will hopefully be fixed in the newer version of SMF.  When you link to unread through the "unread" button, or via the links in the shoutbox, the post isn't marked "read" unless you actually physically mark it "read" with the button on the post, or you surf to the post from the main page.

I believe I've fixed the issue with the link in the shoutbox not updating the post as being read.  Now I need to look into the missing link when the feed poster (New Ferret) does his business.

* gimlet doesn't even want to know where the New Ferret does his business *

Sorry to bother you TM.  When I type something in the Chat Box, such Good morning All and click on send, It does not show in my chat box that i have sent the message to the chat box.  Am I doing something wrong?  Thanks

What browser are you using? If you can, give another browser a whirl.  Since nobody else so far has had an issue, we'll need to look at your setup first to see what's different.

I think the chatbox has completely disappeared for me since the upgrade. Unless it's somewhere here and is just hiding from me...which is very possible. I've tried loading the website in both Chrome and Firefox. Any ideas?

I had actually granted you special access to the shoutbox at the beginning, but that didn't transition to the new one.  Lemme see if that's an easy fix.

That seems easy enough to fix. "Special access" eh? That sounds fancy. Thanks for the help!

You should be able to see it now.

I tried logging out and logging in on both browsers, but still no luck. I assume it would be in the same location as before?

It might be minimized toward the top of the screen.

Edit, I just tested that and it didn't work.  Lemme try a few other things.

I can't seem to find it...I attached a screenshot of the top of my screen. I'm sorry if I'm completely missing it.

Well at least you helped me debug the early shoutbox access thingy.  :)
