Post by: Masscre on May 13, 2009, 06:40:27 PM
What is teh biggest Fish anyone has ever pulled up from deep sea fishing in game OSI?  I have pulled up a 199 stone Fish just wondering if there are any bigger or if anyone knows.

I did pull a 200 once a while ago.  I believe that's the largest possible.  Not positive, however.

How many ASOS do you think you have been though to get the ghost Anchor?  I have like 300 - 350 ASOS put back to do them all at once if i can :) Never thought about smallest fish gonna work on that next :)

I've been fishing every day I get from 4-7 Asos a day.  once I got about 25-30 I fished up the nets. I did about 30 nets a weekend for about 3 weeks.  I also wore about 1900 Luck, I dunno if that really helps or not.  but I did get the Anchor After my Luck Statue ran out.. so I was at about 1700 luck when I finally got the anchor.  though I was only pulling 2-3 Artifacts a weekend.  the strangest part was.. the weekend I did pull it.. I got in order.... Lolo's Lute, Gwens Harp, Nox's Bow, Ghost Anchor... I pulled 3 luna white artifacts within 2 hours.

a basic GM Mage is all you really need.

and for your gear, be sure you get your lrc items with self repair.

ya I found that out the hard way :P

All of my Resists are Terrible, but I have a Full lrc with Self Repair on every piece. I haven't had to repair, or lost an item in over 270+ hours of Fishing.

Btw, I wanted to Chime in again, I pulled Another 191 Fish so now I have 2 fish at 191... its been about 2 months for me to pull a fish over 190 stones.

i'm not sure why, but my small fish isn't tagged.. And I pulled it after I gm'd fishing.

300+ ASOSs?  Good god.  I just started fishing again and got a total of 1 ASOS out of 80 MIB bottles.  Was I just unlucky?  Or is there a way to maximize the likelihood of getting one?

That was about the same for me.  But then you get like 4-5.  It's totally random.  They claim it to be 1 in 20.  Not sure what to believe.

1:20? sure.... when I do my mass White net toss's I get about 30-40 mibs from the loot, I crack them all at the end i'm lucky to get 1 ASOS

Though I wasn't the best at probability in college, I can definitely attest for the fact that 1:20 doesn't always seem like 1:20.  Especially if you are watching the outcome closely.  ;)

Alright all you fishing whores!  I know you all for the most part fish up your ASOS but I am lazy...what about selling them, the pearls, and the colored nets?  Do any of you do that?

I most likely will sell some asos's after I get my seahorse...but I wont even be trying for that until after ToT is over. I keep the pearls for my crafter. I havent sold any nets yet, but I might, once I have a full collection of all the colors.

I don't even know what is what lol!  I just know that I have a ton of colored nets, about 80 ASOS, and a few hundred pearls...don't know what pearls get used for though.

well, for one thing you need 5 pearls as one of the ingredients to make a Pendant of the Magi.

Sweet, that is always a handy piece.

Of course you need an Eye of the Travesty as well for each of those :P

I've been finding that the Pearls don't really sell very well, like 10k per at best. The ASOS's are all over the place depending on shard, I've seen them on Luna vendors for as high as 900k although 300-400k seems to be the average.

No idea on the colored nets.

Pretty sure that is a span across two monitors.  I personally play with 3 monitors on my setup :)

Ya indeed, 2 monitors.  I should have put my fishing thing up on my WoW account.  I missed a golden opportunity to ZING Ebonezer Cerveza!

Really?!?!?  I just got my fishing up to 150.  I find it hard to make gold with tangled fishing line!  heh.  You'll have to let me know the skinny on that.

Does anyone know when the last time EA/OSI made any substantial fishing changes?  The fishing loot on OSI to be revamped desperately!  Thankfully, Snicker7 on Alexandria is a fish-a-holic!  But I still want more!

I can't remember when the last changes went in.  They were the fishing artifacts and ASOSes, but when was that?  Certainly didn't bump the chest loot since, well, FOREVER!

TM I am still using vanbelles fisher script that menue on FaF makes me moist. Been a fisher for 10 years now tried most of the fish scripts out there and thats the prettiest menue i have seen.
That SoS menue does it do all the work like a FaF or do you have to attend?

There is some add-ons to fishing supposedly in the new SA server.  But no one is letting go of the info yet?  I have heard it is related to resources but i do not know how.

Wow, i just read through this thread and didn't realize that the ghost anchor and seahorse was so valuable!! Ive been finishing consistently the last few weeks for white pearls to get rdy for the xpac but never heard of these before. Can you only through the fabled fishing nets for them or any colored one?
