just wanting to find a couple usefull scripts on here for farming and resource gathering...
Cerveza - This was kings first post. Though it is in the correct area (New member introductions), it really doesn't qualify as any type of an introduction. Just a "gimme" type post.
Notice how existing members jump in and tell him what he needs to do to gain access.

You need to post a better intro than that. We all know your here to get scripts. But what shard do you play osi / freeshard etc.. bit about yourself.. read the first post rules.

Unfortunatly if we dont pull them up that awould be the general rule of thumb. You will see worse .. ive seen worse we all have seen worse. But note thier restricted and always will be until corrected.

They USED to before we implemented the automatic restriction. Then like magic, people started to put a bit more effort into the intros. We figure that it's just not too much to ask since we put so much time and effort into the site, not even considering the 1000s of hours spend on scripting and debugging. Free UO resource, free scripts, no ads. Sounds like a deal!!

Thankfully it's a little more fun these days to read the intros. However, there still tends to be a few that don't want to put the effort. People are just way to used to doing 0% and still get free stuffs from the interwebz.

You could be right, we tend to get old and cynical because of the sheer number of stupid intros we see (I rarely post, but I tend to read most of them). It's tough to know when we're scaring a good person away and when we're making fun of the idiots we don't want here anyways

not really sure what to say, looking for some help with some scrips, hope to make some of my own, can't wait to get started.
well is that not an introduction? i did as the post asks... maybe some criteria of what info you are looking for might help.
i am an average player looking to get back into playing the game.
the scripts will help. end of story, any more info?

Cerveza - Here's kings second attempt at gaining access to scripts here at Script UO. I've joined all four of his replies together. Notice his attitude, he seems to think he deserves access and doesn't need to post anything other then "I play UO and want scripts". He even takes a smart-azz attitude with his "anything more then that you might wanna buy me a drink" statement.
Again, our members jumped in and pointed him in the right direction. There's MANY examples of intro's here, but instead of reading them and attempting to write something similar, he chose to be 'stand-off-ish'.
Well, I gave him a 5 day ban after this, but since seeing this wasn't his first intro I've decided that we really don't need kings here. He was giving more then enough chances to come around, but chose the smart-azz route instead. I've put him on the perm ban list.
We don't ask much, but this is something we require. Kings has just shown how much effort it takes to fail.

so what should i say? what shard i play on, my characters, personal info? i mean come on, i'm here i posted, get over yourselves.
i quit playing for a while, want to get back into UO, need a few scripts to get some much needed items, stuff like the vesper turn ins, stuff like that.
Been wanting to make a few scripts, maybe alter a few out there. haven't really got too much into it.
is it really that big a deal?
Well, obviously to us it IS a big deal. Telling us to get over ourselves is going to go a LONG way to getting your restricted stats lifted! Yes, for the hours and hours and hours of work that people put in to write these scripts, and give em away free (Almost free, we ask for a good introduction) the least you can do is put in some time and effort into writing ONE introduction post. If you can't bother to do that, then you can use the same door you came in to go back OUT!
If it were up to me I would sticky this post and retitle it: How NOT to get your restricted status Lifted

Wow guess someone likes the restricted area a whole lot.. perhaps you can sweep out some of the dust while your waiting thier.
FYI we know you want/need scripts we also know that you probably/cannot/willnot/donot know how to write scripts this is standard for most.... So very is little is asked for you to get what you want. Unfortunatly for you you have not provided that yet. Go back read the intro requirements, maybe if you see fit re-adjust your attitude and try again or not .. should we care.
As for drinks buying I believe its probably you that would need to spend the whole night in the pub/bar buying the whole COMMUNITY here drinks... not the otherway round...
DO i hear the permanent ban hammer appraoching... I Definatly think i can at least find a pin to release some of that hot air build up in the crannial area. Ow wait should we care.. good luck to you and yours in what ever ventures sounds like you will be needing it
