Anyone have a rough idea of how much gold/gems/etc. is required to build imbuing?

Hey manw,
Script works great most of the time, it does make tinker tools.  Its just every once in awhile it uses them all up.  Then you have to get another one and restart the script. I am also stuck at 45.2.  Have a ton or residue now, but no gains above 45.2 :(
Title: Re: Mwinc. Imbuing Trainer
Post by: manwinc on January 29, 2012, 06:23:27 PM
Hmmm... Will look into it later tonight, I might of turned the settings to where it tries to unravel DC until 50.

Post by: manwinc on January 29, 2012, 06:29:00 PM
Forgot, I was human when I wrote the trainer. Must of Spaced out that gargoyles have a higher success chance, and therefore a lower gain chance.

I like the person above am also stuck at 45.2 no gains loads MR now from it going non-stop. Currently using Human race....is there something that i'm missing here?

Gargoyle, 51.5 imbuing. no gains after half an hour.
Title: Re: Mwinc. Imbuing Trainer
Post by: Ultima on November 06, 2012, 09:19:29 AM
This was the fastest I've trained imbuing on a character.

I harnessed some residue which got me up to around 60 Imbuing before starting this script.

10 Hours approximately from 60 skill to 120. Worked like a charm!

Post by: manwinc on November 06, 2012, 11:22:06 AM
Thats fantastic to know.

What race were you if you don't mind me asking. I'm pretty sure I only tested it on gargoyles. Meant to run it on a human as well, but never had the time. Honeslty I've only Trained imbuing 2x
Title: Re: Mwinc. Imbuing Trainer
Post by: Ultima on November 06, 2012, 01:38:48 PM
I trained as a Gargoyle...

The only suggestion I would make is to increase the inventory on the Amber.

I ran low on amber twice starting from a pile of 4500. I think 10-15k Amber, 5K Ruby, and 5k Citrine will do the trick if you start from 60 Imbuing Skill after stocking piling residue.

M,

Any chance I can get you to add RoT timers? Basically you need to check skill after every imbue and initiate the timer if you get a skill gain. Here are my generic subs!

Code: [Select]
;==========================================================
; ROT Subs
;==========================================================
Sub RoT_Wait
Set %Reset_LobjectID #LobjectID
Repeat
   {
   If %ROTSkillTimer - #SCNT > 120
      {
      Set #LobjectID #BackpackID
      Event Macro 17 0
      Wait 2400
      }
   Wait 20
   }
Until #SCNT >= %ROTSkillTimer
Set #LobjectID %Reset_LobjectID
Return

;==========================================================
Sub RoT_Timer
Chooseskill %1 Real
If #Skill < 700
   Set %ROTSkillTimer #SCNT + 2
If #Skill >= 700 && #Skill < 800
   Set %ROTSkillTimer #SCNT + 300
If #Skill >= 800 && #Skill < 900
   Set %ROTSkillTimer #SCNT + 480
If #Skill >= 900 && #Skill < 1000
   Set %ROTSkillTimer #SCNT + 720
If #Skill >= 1000 && #Skill <= 1200
   Set %ROTSkillTimer #SCNT + 900
Return

I use a shard check:

Code: [Select]
If Siege in #Shard || Mugen in #Shard
{
Set %RoTShard Yes
Event exmsg #charid 3 4 Shard is #Shard | ROT skill timer engage status is %RoTShard
}

Code: [Select]
If %RoTShard = Yes && #Skill >= 700
{
Chooseskill Imbu
Set %Last_Skill_Value #Skill
}

Sure! on my way to work right now, but remind me later... Heh....
Title: Re: Mwinc. Imbuing Trainer
Post by: Paulonius on November 09, 2012, 11:54:30 AM
I took a crack at dropping the RoT subs in and it seems to be working. I put a RoT shard check into the beginning, dropped the skill check with timer triggers into your two imbue subs, and dropped the RoT wait scale and wait subs in at the end.

Obviously feel free to use it/improve it as you see fit. I am testing it now.

One thing I noticed was that I seemed to need to close the imbue menue after the RoT wait. I didn't trace why precisely, but before I put in a click to close the menu I was dropping into a failure cycle with the script trying to event macro imbue while the menu was open, getting a "you must wait" message. Closing the menu fixed it.

Post by: Paulonius on November 09, 2012, 12:52:54 PM
I usually drop some event messages in while I trouble shoot and I find keeping them in fueling my perverse interest into RoT skill gain system -- it feels like such a treat to train a skill like imbue from 90 to 100 with a few hundred gems.

Title: Re: Mwinc. Imbuing Trainer
Post by: Paulonius on November 14, 2012, 10:56:26 AM
Chug, chug, chug... from 90 to 107ish took, oh, a few hundred gems...

I am going to need to start a gargoyle from scratch though as I have been doing this on a human and can't find a race change token on Siege.

M, you see any issue starting the hammer make/unravel at zero imbue? I wonder if I am going to need to run the unravel sequence multiple times to make sure it worked. I will do some testing.

I  thought that's what it did....
Title: Re: Mwinc. Imbuing Trainer
Post by: Paulonius on November 14, 2012, 03:02:57 PM
I commented out the under 40 skill check and its working fine up from zero.

I was worried about making the occassional non-exceptional hammer and threw on a tali to push me over 100%.
Title: Re: Mwinc. Imbuing Trainer
Post by: Paulonius on November 15, 2012, 07:04:30 AM
M, you don't have a skill cap check for training with a cap below 120. .

This occurred to me after I left the office yesterday and I confirmed when I got in this morning. :(

I also tested the script running from 0-40 as is and it works fine. My recommendation to fix both issues is to change the beginning of your Sub Skill_Level as follows:

Code: [Select]
Sub Skill_Level
Chooseskill Imbu
if #Skill = #Skillcap
   Halt
;{
;Display Please Go Buy Skill
;Halt
;}

What do I need to do so I can get past the 45.2 Skill Gain?

My siege gargoyle hit 120 last night.

I didn't keep careful track, but these numbers are very close.

From zero to 120:

About 1500 each for citrine and ruby, maybe 1750 amber.
I think I ended up net positive on residue
about 5,000 dull copper ingots (used these from zero to 55)
150 gold ingots

Elf with no arms lore
Going to report resource usage!

****Update****

Resources used:
Magical Residue: 11,469
Citrine: 1,768
Ruby: 4,711
and the big one AMBER: 12,791

Great script Mwinc. If you ever need anything on chessy let me know :-)

You could add HPI at 5 for 110% instead of  mage 140%,   not the best move but it might help you.   or you could use Bloodwood to have HPR at 100%,  not many option here.

Gimlet I must be insane... because these are the Only times it calls the Craft subs

Gosub Craft Tinkering %Ingot 3 2 2  ; Craft a carp hammer of Level %Ingot

Gosub Craft Tinkering 2 3 2 2 ; Craft a Dull Copper Hammer

Gosub Craft Tinkering 1 3 1 4 ; Craft an Iron Tinkering Tool

That's it...... I mean, its probably been 2 Years since I've used this.... I guess I'll fire her up.

This script is probably better than the one on EUO that uses Sammy Plate stuff anyway. Just me overreacting to changes in the game. lol I've used a ton of your scripts and they're always awesome. Unfortunately I'm far from adept at writing them so your stuff looks like writing on a UFO from Mexico! Please dumb down your scripts so I know what they're doing! I kid...  :-X

Actually some of our scripters take the time to put in comments in various sections of their scripts letting you know what these different parts are doing. It has helped me greatly in understanding the scripts and how they are put together.

For what it's worth...

I found that I was failing when attempting to unravel DC hammers at 41.6. I did daggers for a few and tried hammers again at 42.9 which worked. I was on an elf character at the public forge in Ter Mur, 84 tinkering - most hammers were exceptional but not all.

Yeah, that's definitely very strange. I just trained up another human character.

I guess I'll need to make an elf and start at 0 and see if there is a difference.

hey Mwinc im using this right know and its running well i did noticed that sometimes it trys to imbue a item to fast and the imbue menu stays up and from what it looks it just keeps saying you have to wait to use a skill but if you close imbue window it goes right back to work idk if you can place a fail safe for this or not my only problem from 75ish to 103
Title: Re: Mwinc. Imbuing Trainer
Post by: manwinc on July 14, 2013, 09:04:23 AM
Not much that can be Done, you can't Force the gump to be the "Top" Gump, which is all Easyuo can see, once it open.

The Best thing to do is once you start the script, just minimize the Client. If you have your Mouse over an item to see its property, it can really glitch it out.

I could probably code in something to pixel scan to find the Gump again, but that would be REALLY annoying, Maybe Recording the Last known XY Coordinates for it and then Pixel Scanning, then a right click to close.

Only other option I can think of is a Kill all Open Gumps and Reset everything in the Script, but then you have to open the backpack, container, paperdoll, stat bar. Not too bad. Hmm...

yeah i worked it to 120 small issue above is the only problem but more on it i noticed my imbue and crafting menus sometimes over lap unless i move them and it every once in a while it would click it so fast it would switch the whole marking items so its trying to click to fast but i mean that doesnt slow down the script other then that its a great script works well and fast i dont know numbers of gems but its A LOT of amber gems

"Top" Gump

Is it wrong that, when I read this all I could hear was the opening riff of Danger Zone?

Manwinc, just a heads up.

The number of imbuing successes you can do on a single item for skill ups has been changed from 10 to 20.

And for some reason yesterday it just kept reimuing the same thing over and over despite the message about not being able to learn.  Then ran out of money so could not track it down :(

But jumping the successful imbuing attempts from 10 to 20 should be easy for ya and will save people money.  And good call on the hammer!  One ingot!  Thats the bomb!

I actually had the same issue, it would attempt to keep going indefinitely then couldn't unravel the item (if I remember correctly). I'll have to try it again. I forget what I ended up doing (sorry).

Hi, I'm having a problem with running this script after the most recent patch. When I start to run it, It opens the bag and says, You must wait to perform another action..

Thank you for writing this script <3 I always thought it'd be way longer and more expensive to train this skill but it turns out that it's not that bad :) Thanks to you :D

I started this script with 77.3 skill. I estimate i had to run this script about 14 hours to get from 77.3 to legendary.
Here's an overview of the resources i've used (77.3 - 120):

It sometimes gave the message about diminishing returns (i've seen it seldomly though) on about the last 2 imbues on an item. Other then that i didn't spot anything. Also i'm going to see how you handle gumps, because you do it so fast :D

Proud owner of legendary artificer <3

BTW: if anyone wants to know where the ilshenar gypsy camps are located in order to find cheaper jewels, and believe me they are a lot cheaper, this link will come handy http://uo2.stratics.com/maps-and-locations/ilshenar-guide/ilshenar-gypsy-camps

After i finished training to legendary i found out that the gems in Ter Mur are even cheaper then in the gypse camps... Coincidence on my shard or is there a reason?

my ultimate Crafting Skill trainer

 :o

IIRC, all gems on all facets start out at the same price. But as you buy them up, the price rises. Every 1000 bought it goes up I believe. So perhaps you checked prices after someone bought a bunch from the camp.

IIRC, all gems on all facets start out at the same price.

So if price for ruby is 84 before server down, it will still be 84 after server up. Price is set 1x on facet birth, then regulated by the players.

But as you buy them up, the price rises. Every 1000 bought it goes up I believe.

Aye. After you make 2 purchases of 500, the maximum amount of a single resource you can buy off an npc vendor, the price goes up with 1 gold piece.

So perhaps you checked prices after someone bought a bunch from the camp.

Yes mostlikely the case hehe :)

Here's what i've learned about the random gypsy camps (from personal experience and some Googly work).

Personally i've only found ingots at 8gp, boards at 3gp, arrows & bolts at 10 gp. Probably someone who makes it a habit to check for camps and buy everything up :)

Actually i performed a little test:

Now we circumvent the system by buying 499/500 @ 8gp instead of 9gp.

Nice! Made profit already.
That works but... Let's test out more :)

So we have bought 1.499 items. Are you thinking what i'm thinking?

Yup, now the price is @ 10gp.
So in short, we can only profit 1 x 499gp the first purchase by using this method haha :)

IIRC, all gems on all facets start out at the same price.
So if price for ruby is 84 before server down, it will still be 84 after server up. Price is set 1x on facet birth, then regulated by the players.

Ok i'm confused now... Do NPC base prices reset every server up? I just checked 1 vendor and there it did reset (yesterday i bought items and raised the price, now it's back at base), another one it didn't or the base price must be a lot higher for the same item on a different NPC... Or is this a bug?

I ran this the other day, and found it is important to have 100 Arms lore.  I started with a guy that had 50 imbue, and 0 Armslore who was a gargoyle.  No increase in skill.  So I dropped the skill to 40, and it gained to a point, 45-46 ish, no more gains.  So I figured that due to the 35% DI on the hammer, as opposed to the 40% DI on one crafted by someone with 100 Armslore, it dropped the item weight to a point where I would not gain past the 40 ish skill level.  So, I stoned the skill off of the last guy I trained up and started fresh from 40 at around 2 pm.  By midnight I was at 112 ish.

This is a great script, now on to train up armslore for the character I'm training it up for.

Thank you very much for this script, it is up and running as I type, Dec 5,2014.

I'm running it now with 100 arms lore and for some reason I'm still stuck at 49.2.  I then logged onto the first character I trained it up on flawlessly and got it to 120 again on him.  I'll just stone it over, no problem.  I was wondering, and I'll try to figure it out if you prefer.  Now that I'm at 120, I'd like to modify this script to just make and unravel dull hammers, for the pink stuff, so I can farm a ton of it up and turn it in for quests.  One dull ingot gives three of the pink at the queens soulforge.  So I plan on heading in with a beetle carrying dull copper ingots and targeting that as my secure, the farming up the resource.

Any help would be appreciated.  I'm sure it is very easy for someone like you, however, I'm still stuck in 1980 (aka I can make the flashy light on the VCR stop).

The fix to that is to change this part

if #Skill < 550
Gosub Train_550
if #Skill >= 550 && #Skill <= 600

To this

if #skill < 490
gosub Train_550
if #Skill >= 490 && #Skill <= 600

Thanks for the speedy reply.  I see all of this mention of skills getting stuck and I think I figured it out.  I'll admit I didn't read every post here, but I was stuck at 49.2.  Nothing was working, I trained up to 100 Armslore, still nothing.  I trained it up twice on a guy, a different guy, and the templates were identical.  There was only one difference....... The new guy didn't have a 120 scroll yet.  So I got the 50 Relics together and ate the scroll and hit play....Instant gains.

So...
GM Armslore
Gargoyle
GM Tinker
Likes Hammocks
120 Imbue scroll eaten
Hit play.

I've edited this with al of my skill and understanding, and it will run through a set of making and unraveling dull copper tinkered hammers, unravel and put the pink stuff in my secure, and then stop.  How can I make it to keep going and continuously make dull copper hammer, unravel pack and put in secure, get more ingots and repeat?

I'm training a new Imbuer and I'm trying ur.  Just notice that it only attempts 10 successfully imbue before it unravel item.  Been trying to find where to mod it to go to 20/20 but can't find it.   can you help me out.

Update:  now that I'm at 75 and using Golden hammer.  it try to imbue 20 time ( fail and success together) still not getting 20/20  Not a really big deal, but will be nice to have.

Everything working fine  not problem running it.

except that when u build it we can only imbue 10/10 not we can do 20/20.   I was wondering how to change that  counter.

After doing some counting,   hehe   you are trying 25 times and hoping to get lot of successfully imbue item :)      we average between 10 to 16 successfully imbue items.   Thx  now I see the patter.

When I make this change, it makes the initial hammers out of dull copper, and unravels.  Then the script stops.  My skillis 120, gargoyle, 100 Arms lore, I like hammocks.

The only way I'm getting it to work is by changing the above mentioned section to

if #skill < 1201
gosub Train_550
if #Skill >= 1200 && #Skill <= 1201

I hit play, and it runs through making hammers with dull copper ingots, and unravels them, and then the script stops, green arrow on EUO.  I can just keep hitting the play button and selecting the secure.  I was hoping you could help me figure out how to just loop this so I can make a stock pile of magical residue.  Thanks!

Thanks all for helping.  The reason I want to unravel dull copper hammers, is because it takes one ingot and yields three of the residue.  I've got a ton of oak, and I've been using that script to get it.  I just wanted a way to make and unravel dull copper hammers.  This didn't work, nor did anything else I tried.  So sorry for being such a newbie.  I love this script though, it worked tremendously well for two characters, lightning fast.  I just remembered at the beginning that it burned up dull hammers.  Great script.

I would read examples of good and bad introductions prior to making yours. Once your restricted status has been lifted, you will have access to most of our toys.

I made 12k residue without a gain at 50 imbuing.  Look  like OSI server had change a code in gain.   I had to change the value from < 550 to  <449   to start.

really??

yes really, I'd eaten no imbuing PS, and stayed at 45.2 for over an hour, I ate a 120 imbuing PS and gained faster than I was gaining before

Thanks for sharing!

My stats:
Garg started with 50 imbue
Had 98 armslore from training smith
Run time to 120 ~ 8-10 hours (estimate, had d/c in middle)
Significantly less resources used than expected (9k amber, 5k citrine, 5k ruby, small amount of ingots)

This script is amazing because it is so FAST!  I will definitely be dissecting this script to learn more about handling crafting and gumps at lightning speed.  Thanks for the awesome contribution!

Works perfectly, I don't know if I can reach 120 but... 79.6 for now !

yes you can reach 120.

@ 90 you can eat your 115 or 120.   This is a good time because it lower ur success rate.   From 115 to117 it not do bad and to 120, it will cost you  lot of resources, it just how the gain work.   I usually only have 3 skills while I raise imbuing; Imbuing, arm lore and tinkering.    I use do the 0.1 a day to get from 115 to 120. to save money on shard that I don't have lot of money.

Your account: Date Registered:   June 23, 2010, 09:15:40 PM I wouldn't call that new, its over 6 years old, however,  I would always start at the site rules which is the very first forum listed. It can be found here: http://www.scriptuo.com/index.php?board=55.0

Once there you can read about why your account is restricted: http://www.scriptuo.com/index.php?topic=1750.0
You can also read about why you can't see the files here: http://www.scriptuo.com/index.php?topic=12571.0

We have a great community here but this isn't easyuo. You have to put in a little effort to gain access to the wealth of knowledge and effort that our members have put in. Doing a search or looking at the forums prior to jumping right into the scripts helps as well. Abuse the search button.

I hope to see you become an active member and not one of the thousands of accounts with only 1-10 posts that takes and leaves.

I will leave you with a couple of pictures to aid in your navigation towards becoming a member

I decided to create an imbuer on my second account with this script. My observation so far is that it may require a small update.

Script works smoothly while character holds enough tinkering tools. But it fails to create a new one. It generates mortar & pestle or scissors instead of tinkering tinkering tool.

This is on production shard by the way. I am not aware of any changes to tinkering gump, but it may received a change since the last update.

Thank you for this great script.

To my knowledge it happens occasionally with scripts since the change. I'm not sure if anyone has been able to determine a fix

Is this still working?  I keep getting out of ENK but I have everything in my packs.  None of my item ID parts are returning Id codes.  they all say YC

I believe ENK is iron ingots so check the id of your ingots. If playing on a freeshard, they may have a different ID. If official shard, I am not sure other than they are not in your secure or your pack or something. It for use with tinkering, probably to make tools.
