If an item spawns daily when will it spawn? Server up? Or from the last time it was stolen? Is it random?  Just curious, I found a thief character I didn't know I had.

General UO Chat / need help from the pvp pros out there
« on: January 24, 2014, 11:10:03 AM »
Need some advice on how to handle a situation.  I run a human nox/scribe mage and am running into two other characters and they eventually kill me.  The other two characters are a dexor and a archer.  The problem i am having is that they friggin' hit me everytime.  The dexxor usually disarms me and the archer moving shots me.  I can re-arm my mage wep but I can never get off any spells besides a poisen or harm here and there cause they are hitting me so much.  Should i go protection, i have 45-50 dci.  any tips would be greatly appreciated.

Television/Movies / Anyone watch Strikeback on cinemax
« on: October 15, 2013, 02:42:53 PM »
I love it!  Action packed, guns fights, explosions and car chase scenes in every episode.  Ok, maybe not in every episode.  Anyone following it?

Quote
Strike Back is a British action and military television series, based on a novel of the same name by novelist and former Special Air Service (SAS) soldier Chris Ryan. The series follows the actions of Section 20, a secretive branch of the British Defence Intelligence service (DI), who operate several high risk, priority missions throughout the globe.

Off Topic / Building an AR15 rifle
« on: October 15, 2013, 10:40:06 AM »
I have decided to build my own AR15 or two.  I am meeting with a FFL tomorrow to buy two stripped lower receivers.  The rest of the gear I can order of line, no FFL needed for the rest.  So far I am going with a hogue grip.  Will update as the build goes.

@OID - I have looked at prices for last couple months and various manufacturers and there is such a wide variety like s&w m&p sport model that sells at the local fred meyer for 599.00 to other manufactorers selling ar15's for like 3k.  After looking at the mid level entry ar15 (1000.00-1500.00) I figure I could build something to the same quality if not better for less.

Lower receiver parts kit, 2 stage trigger, should be here tomorrow.

Off Topic / Went to go hiking locally and this is what I found!
« on: July 30, 2013, 03:01:26 PM »
Don't think I will be hiking here!  The bottom is kinda hard to see but it says "carcass on trail, bears feeding!"  1/2 mile away.

Addendum:  Found out the whole story.  A guy was hiking and ran into a 500-600 brown bear in the bushes.  He started yelling trying to scare the bear away and it charged him.  Then stopped then charged and he shot it with his AK-74.  Yes, a AK-74, not a AK-47.  The 74 is a american version of the 47 or something, never heard of it.  Thats not the normal caliber weapon most people would carry.  It was ruled a justified shooting.  By law, fish and wild life have to take the skin and head and leave the rest there, to much and to far to try to take the carcass out.

-1--Tech Support Request
Last year I upgraded Girlfriend 1.0 to Wife 1.0 and noticed that the new program began unexpected child processing that took up a lot of space and valuable resources. No mention of this phenomenon was included in the product brochure. In addition, Wife 1.0 installs itself into all other programs and launches during system initialization where it monitors all other system activity. Applications such as Pokernight 10.3 and Beerbash 2.5 no longer run, crashing the system whenever selected. I cannot seem to purge Wife 1.0 from my system. I am thinking about going back to Girlfriend 1.0 but un-install does not work on this program. Can you help me?
Jonathan Powell

Dear Sir,
This is a very common problem men complain about but is mostly due to a primary misconception. Many people upgrade from Girlfriend 1.0 to Wife 1.0 with the idea that Wife 1.0 is merely a "UTILITIES & ENTERTAINMENT" program. Wife 1.0 is an OPERATING SYSTEM and designed by its creator to run everything. It is impossible to un-install, delete, or purge the program from the system once installed. You can not go back to Girlfriend 1.0 because Wife 1.0 is not designed to do this. Some have tried to install Girlfriend 2.0 or Wife 2.0 but end up with more problems than original system. Look in your manual under Warnings - Alimony / child Support. I recommend you keep Wife 1.0 and just deal with the situation. Having Wife 1.0 installed myself, I might also suggest you read the entire section regarding General Protection Faults (GPFs). You must assume all responsibility for faults and problems that might occur. The best course of action will be to push apologize button then reset button as soon as lock-up occurs. System will run smooth as long as you take the blame forall GPFs. Wife 1.0 is a great program but is very high maintenance.

I am preparing to make my debut as Raleigh's first masked Crime-Fighter/Caped-Crusader/Masked Avenger/Protector of Truth and the Innocent, and am in need of a sidekick. Perhaps you have seen my post in the N&O regarding this position opening. I need someone who is available nights and weekends, and who can supply their own costume. I have a car that will be the crime fighting mobile, as yet to be named (that name depends upon the name I chose for my crime-fighting alter ego). It would be cool if you could help out with gas money sometimes, though, if I happen to be short here and there. Discretion is a must as no one must learn of our TRUE IDENTITIES! If they are compromised, so will be our crime-fighting efficacy. This is more of an unpaid internship type situation, so if you're looking to get rich, this might not be for you. Although I would not be surprised if we are presented the KEY TO THE CITY soon after our criminal-foiling commences. If you're looking to fight evil in all its forms and be a beacon of truth and justice, then you have come to the right place. Please send a resume to this post in response. All serious applicants considered. Finalists will be granted a masked "face-to-face" interview in my secret lair, after which, if you are hired, you will learn my TRUE IDENTITY. This is not a sexual thing, although I think we should wear fairly tight-fitting costumes, as we will be scaling fire escapes and leaping from rooftop to rooftop, and will have enough to deal with having capes, much less baggy shorts or something of the like. I should mention that my costume so far consists of a kelly green cape, so that color is taken. You should be encouraged, however, to know that you will be free to pick your own color scheme and costume. I only ask that it semi-compliment mine. I will not discriminate on basis of gender, religion, race, or anything like that- but if someone is pretty buff it is a no-brainer that they will move to the front of the line. I will consider a skinny or out-of-shape person with the right attitude, however, as wonders can be done with a little neoprene padding under lycra! I look forward to perusing your resumes, and all reasonable applicant replies will get a response from me, Raleigh's Avenger of Justice and Freedom as yet to be named!
