Player Templates / Sampire Luck Suit
« on: April 13, 2012, 01:25:22 PM »
Okay,

So my quest over the last couple of days has been to get myself as much luck as possible on my sampire without completely gimping his fighting capabilities, and it has resulted in the following!

Str77Str
Dex78520Dex
DI104050DI
HPI1010HPI

If you cant be bothered to read off from the table I can summarise what this suit gives me.

Capped HCI and DCI and 45 (Important as I want to be able to take on the Dark Father with it)
Stamina Increase 33 to ensure I am swinging as fast as possible (Radiant Scimitar will swing at 1.25 with 150 stamina and no SSI, which is what I wanted)
Damage Increase is only 40%, but with a lesser slayer (Air elemental for shame farming purposes) my DI will be at the 300% cap from items + active spells anyway, can always add in Enemy of One for a bit of a boost!

Non-physical resist are not at 70/75, however I have for a long time run my Sampire using Magic Reflection (I carry around magery jewels / spellbook etc and LRC gear to cast it if I die).  This lowers Physical resist and increases the non-physical resists -20% Phys  +10% Magical resists (Also lowers max phys resist by 5%, but generally this isnt an issue and if im fighting something that does ALOT of phys damage I can just remove magic reflect.)  With Magic Reflect I get 72/94/76/70/71  (72/69/76/70/71 in Vampiric Embrace)

This puts my character at *calculates*

140 dex
132 Str
10 int

173 Stamina (enough for 1.25 radiant scimitar)
136 Hit Points (easily enough for shame and Dark Father imo)
38 mana (I'm an elf so get +20 mana as standard, plus the 8 from my gear)

Most importantly gives me 2060 Luck from just my gear, before statue and honour.

2060 + 1000 + 550 (statue) = 3610 which is a 94% chance for improved loot!

I could go to get the sphynx and lucky coin buff for an extra 480 luck, but thats a bit too much effort imo (even though it would put me at 100% chance for increased loot.)

The imbued gear (leggings, chest, gloves, sleeves) came from reforging with an ash runic saw for Auspicious/of Fortune to get the clean 150 base luck, then imbued with the required stats/resists.  Finally they are enhanced with Oak to get bonus resists of 3/3/0/2/3 and +40 luck.
The imbued shield is crafted with iron then reforged with a Bronze Runic Tool for Auspicious/of Fortune and Vicious/of Slaughter to get the 150 luck and bonus 4% HCI property (could go higher but i ran outta tools!).  It's then imbued for 15% DCI and enhanced with Golden ore for bonus resists and +40 luck.
The imbued weapon is again crafted with iron then reforged with Auspicious/of Fortune for 150 luck.  Imbued with required leeches / slayer properties and enhanced with Gold.

Some quite pricey / rare artifacts used in this suit though.

Talisman - Slither (Much needed DCI, could swap for a primer or conjurer's trinket if I preferred Damage increase and could afford to drop some DCI)
Hat - Orc Chief Helm Replica (HCI Version) (100 luck, but more importantly 30 HCI!)
Robe - Conjurer's with Luck (140 luck)
Shoes - Soles of Providence (80 luck)
Neck - Leurocians Mempo of Fortune (300 luck)

Now, after that work I do not THINK i've missed anything but I am fully willing to admit the suit could be made better by taking longer crafting the woodland pieces for the right resists, however I cant really be bothered and am happy to run with magic reflection on to reduce the cost of the suit.

Could be in the wrong forum here, maybe it should be in the personal achievements / bragging forum, but figured it was directly tied to my template so I put it here.

Sam

EDIT - the jewels were clean looted 150 luck from shame, then imbued.

I am looking into making a damage eater suit for my Sampire, but I am sceptical about how useful it will actually be, since it takes a while for the damage to come back as healing and as the enemies I am facing usually hit like trucks I'll either be healed before the health back hits me, or I'll be dead!

I have been using reforging mostly to finally set myself up with specific elemental damage weapons for all situations!  Reforging makes it oh so much easier to get those 500 imbuing intensity 100% ele dmg weapons.  I am even considering dropping chivalry since I just wont need it after I have all these weapons.

I'd bet that someone has already put this together, so I'm just going to ask and hope that I can get the details.

Required including weapon: 100 LRC, *AHAP LMC, 50 HCI, *AHAP HLD, *AHAP DI, *AHAP SSI (weapon + items can be used for these), NON-Faction

LRC and HCI are the only two that are required to be maxed. Artifacts are ok to be used.

*As High As Possible

I'm guessing this is for a Mystic Thrower or somesuch variant?

Head - Mace and Shield Glasses (Altered)   25/10/10/10/10  10 strength, 5 dex, HLD 30% (saving space on weapon)
Legs - Void Infused Kilt - 13/12/8/9/9    5 dex, 5 str, 10% damage eater, SR1, MR1
Ring - (imbued) HCI 15, LRC 20, LMC 8  (other stats could include DI if needed, or SSI if you can find one!  Some of the new shame rings have 10% SSI on them and if you are happy with cursed gear then they're fine, else use a nice turquoise ring for 5% SSI)
Brace - (imbued) HCI 15, LRC 20 LMC 8 (same as the ring!)

So as for slots left to fill, that gives you the legs, kilt, chest, arms and neck (plus the other parts like wing armour, robe, shoes, sash, belt)

I would use imbued gear for all the other slots in this suit.  Since the neck slot for a gargoyle has god-awful resists always unless imbued, the other four slots (kilt, legs, chest, arms) have higher base resists than human/elf armour.  This makes it easier to get 70/70/70/70/70 with minimal imbues, and a decent crafter/imbuer will be able to make your suit with only one of the imbue slots on each piece taken up by resists.  This translates into the remainder of your 100% LRC easily possible on the suit (might even be completely possible on the suit and you can save two stats on rings for bonus skills!)

The artifacts stated above give you 38/22/18/19/19, leaving you 32/48/52/51/51 to get from those 5 pieces (which is easy!).

If you have any other questions, having built a similar suit for a PvM thrower/mystic before, I am more than happy to help.

PS - If you want more SSI then there is a chest the Breastplate of the Berserker available that gives 10% SSI, I'd reccomend it if you can fit it on the suit!

I believe they are apprehensive about doing this since if they made an item you could fill with 125mil gold, it would make it far easier for dupers to make tonnes of gold when a new method was discovered.  At least with 1m cheques they are limited to duping 1m per go.

Also I hope they dont introduce a new method of storing large sums of gold, my vendors will be out of a job then!

Quick guide on how to craft 100% elemental damage weapons with relatively high success rates.

You need to get yourself either a Shadow or Copper runic hammer (anything higher will result in you getting far too many junk mods and creating useless weapons).

Select Powerful Reforging, Grand Artifice and Inspired Artifice and select Exquisite/Of Quality as your prefix/suffix.

You'll get more junk mods with copper but a higher chance at getting the 100% elemental damage, you just need to weigh up which route is best for you.

One thing to note (not sure if this is a bug or not) but if you hit a durability x% on the weapon you reforge, eg. Scimitar, Durability +90%, 100% Poison Damage, 40% Damage Increase, and decide that you want to keep it so you PoF the weapon to 255/255 and start imbuing, as soon as you hit that first imbue the imbue intensity will SKYROCKET up into the thousands, as it counts the 255/255 durability as a property.  Just warning people so you dont waste your PoF, and that if you want that 100% poison weapon to train a skill then imbue carefully if at all :).

Hello all,

As someone else below, my name is also Sam.

I started playing Ultima Online in 2000 with the release of Renaissance, which means yes I missed the 'golden ages' of Trammel-less Sosaria.  Even though, in my year and a half of playing, I only managed to GM Swordsmanship and Tactics, I still had a fantastic time and vividly remember the terror of being taken down to the Lich's in Deceit to harvest gold for my first tower (small of course ...).  Unfortunately school / college caught up with me and I had to stop playing to focus on my studies, and Ultima sat on the shelf for a while.  Once the exams were over, I did return to Sosaria, but in the form of running my own free sphereserver which was so remarkably unpopular I can't even remember its name anymore, however we did have about 5 regular players for about three months and it gave me a chance to apply some of my knowledge of programming (albeit limited!) to something seemingly fun that others could enjoy.

Around the time I was running the free sphereserver (55i I think it was ...) I was also playing Star Wars Galaxies, a game which I very much enjoyed due to the fact it was a Sandbox just like UO.  You could do anything, or be anyone, you wanted (even if that meant being akin to a poorly trained swordsman failing miserably to kill a lich with his Silver Longsword of Power!).  I moved on from Star Wars Galaxies as soon as the infamous combat upgrade decimated the population!  I was, however, still quite saddened to hear about SWG being shut down recently ..

From Starwars Galaxies to server firsts in World of Warcraft where I met many good and decent people at the expense of a social life (does chatting on the internet count as a social life?).

Towards the end of my time on Warcraft I began playing Ultima Online again, maybe it was something to do with hearing that SWG was having the plug pulled I'm unsure, but I downloaded both the new clients and resubscribed my account.  I had popped on now and again during the release of new expansions in Ultima Online as I'd always had to see what new stuff was being introduced, however I never really played seriously since 2001.  I returned fully towards the end of the Mondain's Legacy expansion prior to the release of the Kingdom Reborn client, and during this time built up quite a collection of gold and artifacts, ready for the new expansion when it was released.  Managing to place two castles (something I'd only dreamed of back in 2000!) and thoroughly enjoying my time on the game.  I have had periods of inactivity since then, but have very much kept up my presence in the world of Sosaria and look forward to keeping it that way in the future!

I look forward to contributing to your forums in a way more than simply telling you about myself!

Sam
