Bug discussion / Quirkiness when clicking on search results
« on: July 28, 2008, 02:48:49 AM »
This one isn't critical or anything, just a bug...

I did a search for a string. It came back with three results. Clicked on result number one and it took me to the appropriate line and highlighted the appropriate text. I modified the text then clicked on the next search result. This brought me to the correct line but it highlighted the text at the beginning of the line rather than the text I was searching for. I modified this text then clicked on the third search result. This time it highlighted text at the end of the line before the correct line (ie, line 554 when the search string was true on line 555).

Hopefully that makes sense. Let me know if there is anything else I can provide for information or if you have an issue duplicating these results.

Bug discussion / Auto revert?
« on: July 28, 2008, 02:42:33 AM »
Morning,

Issue - made modifications to a script, got pulled away for a little while, came back and my changes had been reverted back. I tested this a couple of times with the same result. Unfortunately, because of RL and kids, etc I never was able to narrow down how long it took for the changes to revert but this happened several times.

Fortunately I had only changed three lines of code without saving, LOL!

Let me know if there is more info I can put together, I'll try to test again today with the hope of narrowing down the time it takes to revert the text. I also don't know if this was related to inactivity verse just a period of time going by.

Movie Review / Journey to the Center of the Earth
« on: July 20, 2008, 03:59:05 AM »
Brought my daughter this weekend. Overall the writing was terrible, the acting was less than subpar, the plot was too convenient too quickly, some of the effects were good but just weren't enough to help the movie recover, even Brendan Frazier was total crap in this movie (not that I should expect much out of Mr. Encino Man).

So, in short, my 8-yr old daughter loved it. If you have kids you have to take them to see this movie. You will suffer for the entire duration but they will have a great time. Teenagers? Probably not. No kids? Wait until it comes out on cable tv and there is nothing else to watch.

Television/Movies / Re: Funniest movies ever?

it sounds like a couple people I've chatted with so far have enjoyed it to the point of requiring an undergarment change

Hey, Who told you?!?!?!?! I thought tying a sweater around my waste and running to the car before the credits were done rolling should would saved me some embarassment!

<edit> oh, almost forgot - and again on the Mel Brooks theme, "History of the World: Part I" was damn funny. Even movies he did with Richard Prior: "See No Evil, Hear No Evil", "Stir Crazy" ("Yeah, we bad...we bad...and we don't want noooo *bleep*...yeah, nooooo *bleep*"). And who can forget "Blazing Saddles" of course!

I am definitely with "Robin Hood, Men in Tights", "Young Frankenstein" (or should I say Frahnkenshteen), and yes I agree with "Dumb and Dumber", what can I say? LOL.

Man, there are so many funny movies out there but if I had to list a couple of my favorites it would be a combination of some older and some newer:

Space Balls <---- oh yeah, I said it
Old School
Caddyshack
Superbad
South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut

And I have to say, Kung Fu Panda had me laughing so hard when I took my daughter to see it that I thought I was going to choke to death.

LOL, no cash necessary :P I told you I'm psyched to be able to participate, I really think this is a great project!

On the other note, had I paid attention I would have already remembered that I shouldn't be messing with the Breakpoints yet.  ::)

I have another item though, I'll put it here since I'm typing but for future reference, as I find these should I start new threads or try to keep them under a single "issues" thread?

This one is more of a user interface issue and may be by design or something to leave alone based on personal taste but I figured I'd mention it, the Syntax Checker is checking commented code. Not usually a big deal, especially now that I figured out where it was seeing that I was short a bracket (lol, 20 minutes!) but it could be an issue, especially in larger projects.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Bug discussion / Re: Version 181 crash
« on: July 01, 2008, 09:31:13 AM »
No problem 't all.

I did just notice that this issue came up only when syntax-checking larger scripts. I repeated it on Spewy's miner and Roadkills Ultratamer to name a few. However, I could not recreate with your Claw script.

Actually, I guess on that note, there really isn't enough data to point to size.

Was this related to the number of messages (errors and warnings) that are discovered by the syntax checker or is it something else completely?

Task: Running Syntax Checker on Cyberpope's Mining Radar 4.1c
Issue: While running the Syntax Checker ScriptUO crashed
Error: Standard Microsoft "App has encountered an error, do you want to report to Microsoft" with the Debug button. Clicking Debug gives the error "An unhandled exception ('System.FormatException') occurred in ScriptUO_v181.exe"

I went ahead and Debugged using Visual Studio 2005 Debugger (included with SQL 2005) but not really helpful:
Code: [Select]
System.FormatException was unhandled
Message: Input string was not in a correct format.

Well that does depend, what kind of blender was it? Who was it from?

If it was a nice, heavy duty Hamilton Beach or Kitchen Aid and it was from a female friend it could have been for daiquiri's!

Otherwise, just sad really.... ;)

Heh, I can relate to both of you (excepting the Mom part).

The biggest reason for me is the inability to let it go as just a game. It took so much work to build what I've built up in the game and it has a real-life, psychological value even though it has next to zero monetary value.

The people would be another reason, there are a few in particular (between the guild I've been in for five years and some of you I met through Coders) I would miss talking to in Vent or working together with on game related "projects". Definitely not my primary source of socializing by any means but there are still relationships there even though they are virtual.
