Title: Thinking about attempting a slayer spellbook crafter
Post by: Crisis on July 22, 2017, 07:07:57 AM
First let me say I am only thinking about this, doesn't mean I will make it. Second, I will have to come up with a better name because it will look for other properties along with slayer properties.

What I am looking for is what mods are people wanting. Lets face it,  most slayer mods aren't used anymore with how powerful the new loot is. There are so many properties to look for that I want to narrow it down. For example, the only slayer properties I would want is blood, reptile, snake, and maybe spider. So what slayer mods do you look for and what other mods do you look for?

Any superslayer.

I think a slayer with +2 fastcast recovery, sdi or FC+1

Gimlet got it all. Obviously all super slayers. I wouldn't mind having the option for all slayer types really. As someone who plays with an SDI suit on my pvm mage, I love the specific slayers.

Yeah I looked at that but he has a ton of stuff that may not be used. I am asking what people look for so I can use less code and smaller menu. No point in including terathan slayers if no one uses them. There are a lot of slayers that aren't really used. I am just trying to keep it simple.  :D

For specific slayers I'd look at peerless, champs, renowned, etc. These are the ones I'd consider;

Spider - Mephitis, Navrey, Dreadhorn Keys
Dragon - Rikktor, Wyvern renowned,  Stygian Dragon
Poison elemental - at spawns or abyss
Air elemental - Shame UEVs or Shame Champ
Earth elemental - Shame champ or level 6 tmap guardians
Fire elemental - abyss renowned
Snake - Serado
Scorpion - Miasma

I will add Demon.

Any super slayer is hard to get so I would kept all of them.

The Ghost,

I would be more than happy to bug test this for you (if in fact you do write it and we are hoping you do).  As stated above, I have used JAF's in the past, but it tends to freeze and I personally cannot get the 'donate' function to work at all.  Of course you would have to keep ALL Super Slayers, but there are some that I just toss away right away like the single mod +resisting spells, +eval, +mana inc #, etc.

Thank you for considering doing this...

Yeah, I should have clarified. I'd keep all super slayers plus the specifics I listed.

Here is a sneak peak at the menu, it is coming along nicely. The crafting is done, now I am working on using check boxes as it is something new to me and finishing how to analyze the books. There are more mods to add to the menu. I am adding them as I finish them. Not that I am actually working on, still thinking about it.  :-X

Looking Awesome...!  Too bad you are just thinking about it...  ;D

One comment about the colors.  The colors that you use are hard to read when it is stating what is being made.

The truly awesome thing about scripts is the fact that you can alter a script to fit the needs, or appearance, that works for you. I have edited menus many times to make them larger so they can be easily dragged or larger font for my old eyes. You are more than welcome to change the background color and font color of my scripts to make them easier for you to see when using them.  ;)

Thank you, I never looked at it that way.  I always thought of editing them as a way of making them work when there are added gumps or feature changes.  OK, I will do that...!
