Title: C2's Dungeon and Shore Fisherman Public Version
Post by: _C2_ on May 22, 2011, 03:15:39 PM
C2's Dungeon and Shore Fisherman Public 1.1c

This script has been a private script of mine for some time now.  I actually made some tweaks to make it a easier set-up for public by not hard coding locations.  I feel like it is time to share it just like I shared the crabber.  There is a test script to play that will respond with the word valid or invalid.  Use this script to decide where to mark runes.
It will do both shore and dungeon fishing for you.  The tile scanning starts at one tile away and moves away up to four tiles away as it scans 360 degrees around you.  It will only fish one location out per rune.  The public version does not do multiple locations at each rune.
It has an auto defend mode through magery but I cannot guarentee that it has all the monster ids needed.  It has a lot!  If you find one that is needed, please post the name of the monster and the id that it has.  Note that some monsters have multiple ids so check several in the spawn area.  That is feedback would be appreciated.  Auto defend mode will use super slayer books.  Do not carry any minor slayer books (ie air, fire & snow).  It does not and will not loot corpses.  I will not be adding that for the small amounts of gold it could scrounge up.
This script allows you to set the big fish size that you wish to keep and should handle any big fish that fall to the ground.  I have really only set it up to handle the fish that I have come into contact with the most during past fishing sessions so the most common big fish are in there (Koi, fire, regular big, summer dragonfish, yellowtail...etc)
I use an arming macro that places the item on the paperdoll.  It may or may not work for gargoyles.  I do not have a lot of time to fuss with that ATM.  If you have a gargoyle fisherman, I am sorry that this script may not work for you with slayerbooks.  I have not tested that out yet.  If this is the case, the alternative is to not put any superslayer books in your backpack.
I hope that this makes your life easier as it has mine.  The set-up and directions are at the top of the script!  Please read the directions and suggestions carefully.  A common misunderstanding is how to use banking mode.  Banking mode requires you to get a third book with 16 banking runes (Only bank runes) and to name it banking.  Do not name fishing or dump books banking; these books are not for bank runes.  If you choose bank mode, it will ignore secure rune numbers.  Banking uses random select to select runes 1-16 out of the banking book to help reduce your impact on bank visits

Q&A:

Q:  Will you make this use fishing baits?
A:  No, this is intended to farm fish to complete quests.

Q:  Will you make it so I can use pets with it?
A:  No

Q:  Will you be adding fighting skills instead of magery?
A:  No

Thank you.  I have not used this version a lot.  I use my other version but it is similar in many ways.  Not a lot of changes will be going into this code but I will fix ids and bugs that were unintended.  I am just in share mode ATM.  If folks like it, they can feel free to use it  ;D.  If they don't dig it, there are other options out there for them.

I will report back once I get a fisherman high enough to test it (next week or two).

Thanks C2!!

enjoy, dungeon fish are actually lower skill level to fish up than deep sea fish are.  you can train skill up at any level with this by shore fishing.

Very easy set up. The script you set up to check the spots before marking was a great idea. Worked like a charm. Just started and been running for approx 30 minutes or so (early stages still) but offensive attacking and fishing spots and recalling working like a charm. When it drops off the fish and goes to drop the shoes, boots, etc, it is not picking up the trash barrel that is on the front block (the stair area). It says "cannot access".  I checked to see if you had an option for hard coding the trash barrel. Did not see it. I wanted to do this for a short time to collect the shoes, sandals, etc. Figured could use them to fill my footwear bods... Also kinda thought it would be a little extra gold for a new fisherman looking to make gold on a new shard (just another option for wanting to keep the footwear). Then I was going to change back to the trash barrel so I didnt get overloaded lol...

I will update more as I test.

Thanks again....loving it so far!

so,  it was using the trash barrell and then stopped or never used teh barrell.  i have a feeling it is a case of not having the id in there.  i got as many as i found over time.  you may have a diff id.  if u can id it for me that would be great!

Added to my folder of scripts I always wanted, but will probably never get to use.  Darn the depth of this game, anyway.

yeah, there are a few monsters that you just wont beat in hand to hand as a mage.  i'll do some testing tomorrow but it shouldnt try to drop off shoes every single trip home.  it has to have around 15 footwear pieces to kick in unless that was a chain reaction error based ona change i made to make it public.

BKF is in the list.  thx for checking.  is your recall spot for the trash can next to the can?  i don't have a pathfind trash can feature in there so if it is up in the house, that will be an issue or if you cannot drop the shoes in from wher eyou recall in, thta will also be an issue

we figured it out and it was not a trash barrell issue.  odds are no on will run into this unless you place the secure on a blockable item.

I ran this all day today. Only had one hang up with my character in front of my house casting e bolts. I think it was the result of lag as it only happened once (and I literally ran this all day from 8am to 6pm). There were a few instances in which the script tried fishing some spots in front of my house also from a drop off but it continued on to the next fishing spot with no problem (again I think the result of some lag).

I did set up 2 more accounts to try to run from the same PC but they were to run from a bank. I got everything set up to run and started them. They both ran for the first 2 fishing spots and then just stopped fishing. They didnt freeze up. Just stopped. My main character mentioned above continued to run as it had been.

Not sure if the script has points that it directs the mouse/curser and thus has problems running multiple scripts on the same PC or if there may be a problem with the bank setting on the script.

I will play more with it tomorrow to see what I can find further.

So bottom line one account full day run using house option with no problem at all. The two other accounts both using the bank function stopped functioning after the 2nd or 3rd spot.

PS - I just found where the two bank option scripts are hanging up....(see below line).

set %selection #Random % %bookspots

Wierd both scripts hang up on this line and the script is just stopping. Again this is only for the two accounts I am running with the bank option.

Resolved - set-up issues & a missing line in set-up on my side!  Boy we make a good team lol C2

hehe, you have no chance with the ogre lords and too many ogres may get you good.  best you can do is have that protection on and have a suit with tons of resist.  Glad that it is going well for you.  I find kraken, ice ogre lords, reggular ogre lords, poison elementals tend to drop the hammer on you pretty hard.   :P

Having some issues now witht he fisher.  I am not sure if it is because the latest EUO changed something or if I was just lucky running this script before.

Currently, it picks up the repond slayer spellbook when killing Water Elementals in Destard.  Also, in Doom on the Doom Beach it will not attack the Restless Souls.  It keeps trying to ebolt them over and over again, but I get the message that I cannot see that.  Even if I target them myself with their health bars, the script keeps trying to ebolt them over and over again even after there are none on the screen.

I had one of my spots get weird too!  it was actually a no draw tile that had the same id as a monster causing endless ebolts.  i have a fix in right now and it seems to have resolved it.  restless souls are not in the monster list so i think it is a tile that is a double id that it settign off the repond ebolt change.  i just need to check it out later with you to confirm and get it so it ignores the item.  i will icq ya when i get a change to figure it out like the time we fixed the house.  for now use a diff location that does not have a bugged tile until i can spend time with ya finding the specific item that is triggering te script.

I created a new character and started at level 50.  I attempted to set fishing spots up without using the tool you provided and now I see why you recommend using it.  The tool is great for setting things up:)

I have set it up to use "Home" mode with the secure and trash barrel sitting next to each other on the front steps of my house.  The fishing is going great and gains are coming; however, it is dumping everything into the secure.  I didn't even notice it until the chest was full.  Have I set soemthing up incorrectly?

You know i think that the script may be finding your secure in the trash id list... i was thinking about this last night.  you are using some type of chest arent you.  i will get a fix in there tomorrow for that that uses event property to find trash in the name.  you could just switch to a pouch or bag and the issue will go away

Yes I am using a metal chest.  I will switch to a bag or something until later.  Everything else works perfect.

Edit:  Just thought I would let you know that you are correct.  I changed out the metal chest for a bag and it is working perfectly.

hopeful fix for trash barrel id overlap with resource containers (untested but is solid code)

put a work around i had found in rare locations for bugged no draw tiles

added resless soul id

I just ran version 1.1 and everything started off great.  I have a full book of dungeon spots.  It cycles through spots 1 -8 without issue, but then repeats those same spots over and over.  This of course results in not finding fish because they haven't had a chance to respawn.

I am not sure what the problem is besides you need more spots.  you can alter that in the script.

Did you change the set %spots from 8 to 16 in the set up section at the top of the script by chance.  That is the only reason I can think of that happening.

I LOVE this script, but I have one tiny problem with it. No matter what I set the "keep weight" at, it cuts certain types of rare fish. Even if it's set to 1. So I figure the easiest solution would be to just delete the lines that pertain to cutting fish (I want to keep the rare ones) but I don't want to break the script in doing so. lol. Can someone help me with what I need to delete? Thanks.

not sure why it would do that.  you have the newest version i hope and if you dont mind listing which fish are being cut *rare ones(

you can put a semicolon in fron of this line in sub waiting to stop all cutting of rare fish

so far, it did it multiple times to the Fire Fish (from Shame - item type OMZ) and the Summer Dragonfish (Destard - item type ZZZ)

I'll try that, thank you  :)

i would imagine it is due to EA's removal of all the map files causing easy uo to no longer be able to read the tiles to fish and mine from.  There are plenty of tutorials about how to get, and copy/paste those files into you main ea  folder to make all tile based scripts work again.  i have been using this since i reinstalled the map files.

I just came back to the game as well and wanted to get my Fisherman going again and I cannot get this script to work. Is this one script that I need to run UOAM or UO Cartographer now?

Just install Enhanced client (in sddition to the normal Classic Client you run)
Now point cart to the enhanced client dirsectory to find the map files.

For Automap

Hey I love this script thanks a ton for it! I added Cyclopes to the monster list and put their ID under the Repond spell book area. But for some reason when it see's them it uses my Undead spellbook.

I can still kill em but it takes like 1 or 2 more b-bolts and if 2 of them attack me at once they might kill me :)  Should I try putting there ID some where else?? I have it under the Monster List and the Repond spell book list area... Thanks for your help and time!

this is very odd.
if the id is in the correct row... then it should work correctly.  you must of placed it in the incorrect row.  do a quick dbl check to see if it is or if the id exists also in the undead line.  oh yeah, and make sure the underscore is there without a space.  you have me a little unsure on this one. it should override the initial undead book selection if added correctly to the repond line as repond comes later.

And oddly enough, the crab/lobster script works for me, but the fishing does not.

Ok I am trying to get this setup for the first time and am having a little trouble.  I am playing on UOForever Shard.  When I am going through the setup it isnt finding my runebook named fishing.  I have gone into the script and made sure that it is calling for the right name and I changed it from 7 to 10 for the spots becuase thats how many runes I have in there.  I dont have enough knowledge in scripting yet to know how to call for it by ID instead of name.  Any help will be greatly appreciated and I will keep trying to figure it out.  Thanks Guys!

If you go to this link you can download Trailmyx's FindInfo Tool. This tool is much needed and you will find that you use it more than you think. http://www.scriptuo.com/index.php?topic=188.0 Once you have it running, you will click the findinfo button and target your spellbook. I am guessing that the server you play on has a different ID for it than the script calls for. I hope this helps.

Great advice!  It sounds like the ids may be different on this other shard.

fixed a bug that would leave some special fish on the ground at times (non cutable ones)
fixed a new bug introduced with some name changes to great barracuda and fire fish that was messing up the cutting of a few big fish

I'm having an issue with this script to use a trash can at my house or at a bank. I'm on OSI shard and am hoping someone will be able to assist. Other than the trashcan issue it works great.

What happens when it is supposed to trash things?

I know the trashcans change at server reset for the public ones, not sure about private ones at a player's house.

Researching the types for all trashcans on on locations (bank, home, osi, freeshard) is probably an impossible task, because there are just too many. It is easier to look at the type for the trashcan you want to use and make sure it is in the list when it goes to locate the trash can.

First is to look  to ensure that  your ID is listed
    set %trashcan KIF_BKF_IKF_HIF_JIF_IIF

Next, In your sub Footwear
It scan for the term Trash.   If you are using a custom trashcan, the scrip will not see it.
Quote
finditem %trashcan g_3
   for #findindex 1 #findcnt
    {
    event property #findid
    if trash in #property
       set %trash #findid

This is were I would look and make the modification you need
