Disarm and Dismount, make it mage -20... Up the damage. It'd stay FC -1, but that could be overcome ;)

problem with mage wep is you don't get the specials without the tactics.  However as a macing wep it probably isn't too shabby for the disarm/dismount then switch to a conc or AI wep.

You need macing and tactics to use wands specials. So why make it mage weapon -20 if you going for specials?

Because mage weapon Replaces Weapon Skill :), Why have macing on your mage, when Mage weapon and Magery ++ Jewelry/Talisman = 120 Weapon Skill :)

Well Cerv spoke of specials along with OMG :) and you cannot do specials with real skill / tact combo. 70/70 for primary, 90/90 for secondary.

Don't use the fireworks charges, OMG.  If you use them up, the wand disappears.

So you can't have Macing AND Magery on a char?

If you did have 90 Tactics, 100 Macing AND 120 Magery with a +20 Magery ring, the specials would work just fine. The point is that it's a single weapon with two of the most useful specials together. It's just a matter of overcoming the -Magery on it. And if you had a straight up macer, then imbue it up as is ;)

I always thought that a Necro/Mage with Mace/Tactics would be the best control point wither storm char there is.

Wither and have dismount ready, once you hit someone with the wither you would auto swing the mace and have a shot at a dismount. Have disarm ready for the next blow.
