I've been on vacation for over a month but I'll be happy to use your script some more once I get everything all updated. :)

Those were both really cool. I appreciate you posting them. =) How did you ever run across it?

I was looking into 100% positive training methods when I came across that fish video. It's amazing how well clicker training works, isn't it!

It's not a popular option, but we turned off the cable years ago and switched to watching shows on DVD. We have an antenna if we want to watch the news or PBS.

I'll test it when I get home from work tonight... I need a new greater dragon anyway.

I've finished up (well... almost) fishing as an alternate skill for my mapper, and it just makes me feel even more strongly that treasure hunting is the best profession in game. My first MIB hunt netted (har har) a ridiculous amount of gold, as well as a few more maps to toss into the heap.

My favorite nightmare is 4.1 rated on the Pet Power Calculator -

Hit Points: 314
Str/Dex/Int: 511 / 125 / 125
Resists: 64 / 39 / 39 / 39 / 24

His life partner, a rune beetle, is a modest 4 stars.

Hit Points: 360
Str/Dex/Int: 453 / 149 / 414
Resists: 62 / 42 / 46 / 93 / 55

My best dragon is a 4, but I bought him (I hate taming greaters!).

Hit Points: 930
Str/Dex/Int: 633 / 125 / 560
Resists: 81 / 90 / 52 / 59 / 55

Skills:
Wrestling: 122.1
Tactics: 113.0
Resist: 100.0
Anatomy: 100.0
Healing: 0
Poisoning: 0
Magery: 122.3
Eval Int: 100.0
Meditation: 100.0

I think that part of the problem with the pet power calculator might be that she doesn't actually -know- the low end of the possible stat ranges for pets.

I chose my name because I've always liked horses. A tarpan is an extinct subspecies of wild horse. They were small and stocky and scrubby and a plain gray brown color - in short, nothing special. Kinda like me, hah! People usually think I misspelled tarpon (a type of large fish) though.

I've used both a hiryu and a greater dragon successfully on the Grizzle. Prior to the introduction of Greater Dragons the hiryu was hands down the best choice. The main advantage of the GD is it's beefy HP. Both do 100% physical damage which is the Grizzle's weakest resist. Both have high fire resist which is the grizzle acid damage type.

It is easy to sit right out of range on your tamer and vet, but I find that the acid makes for a lot of spike damage. It can be hard to keep up. Because you are standing so far away your pet will take a step back if the Grizzle invises itself, putting you back into acid range. You have to pay attention because if this happens you must reissue kill orders quickly. I can do a full writeup on this boss fom a tamers perspective if there is any interest. :)

I've noticed that at about 60 fishing I'm getting mostly special fish instead of regular fish. The special High Seas fish stack and are a lot heavier then normal fishes. They also drop to your feet once you go overweight, so you could theoretically use this method 100% unattended on a boat or something. On a dock I'd imagine it would be a bad idea to go AFK with a mountain of fish at your feet. People might catch on! ;)

My first though upon seeing this video is, "Looks like clicker training!" (I went to the dog's Youtube channel to confirm this). Isn't it amazing the behaviors you can train using 100% positive reinforcement! The best part is you can train pretty much anything using this method.

Including fish.

You can do this as a human too, using the Teleport spell. You don't even have to have magery, the spell can be cast from a scroll after a few tries. I didn't fight my way in on a single character (I am lazy).

Are there any areas that come up as optimal in the low 30s skill level? I'm not finding any at the Bucs docks or shoreline, but gaining well enough on challenging.

I skimmed it. There's an archer/tamer template mentioned but I already have one of those sans fishing, and another tamer besides and really don't want a third one... lol. The script itself appears to only use magery to kill the serpents, so I may try the bard with a reptile slayer spellbook.
