Ok I have a question, say I wanted to change how I view my own character, or any of them for that matter. I specifically want to view gargoyles (the new race) as humans because I have a hell of a time seeing where they are actually standing and its incredibly hard to use a gargoyle dexxer in pvp with that. So with that in mind, how would I go about modifying that?
-
i've been playing with this for awhile and still no luck. editing gargoyle male and female in bodyconv.def and no luck. please someone help! so frustrating!
-
I got your PMs and when i get a chance i'll take a look.
-
awesome thank you! Yeah the bodyconv.def change didn't do anything
-
You find anything out gimlet?
-
I have the same problem as you. I've been digging the bodyconf file for a long time, with no success..
-
Tried several things so far - no luck
Will continue to explore
-
cant uoassist just view as something else?
-
Thats clever!
And it works really cool!

As I remember - used uoassist last in 2002 - you could only morf yourself, not other players. Did this change?
-
Yes - only effects you not others.
-
Why would you need to see other people as humans? You can still see if someone is in spell range quite clearly.
-
well those flying gargoles use alot of cpu. Personally I cannot pvp with them on my old macbook.

Perhaps he's on a 1 tile Dexxer ??? The verticle displacement of a flying gargoyle makes it hard to determine EXACTLY which tile they are on & when coupled with the LARGE wing animations it's kinda a pita!
-
ok - i'll keep trying
-
I would love to see some information on this. Those gargs are hard to target with a one tile guy and they do seem to lag me also. I'm sure its a combo of my older rig and this darn game but it is a issue that others have commented about also.

This is the EXACT reason!
-
is it possible to cut their wings out of the animation? would that help?
-
It's more that they "hover" and can appear to be on one of three tiles depending upon the angle that you are chasing them. On the field it is amazingly annoying to try getting beside them and more so after all these years of training your reflex actions to chase the standard human/elf form.

Your problem is quoted in red!

Well i'm running xp on it, so there is really not much of a difference. Had the same issue on my hp loptop. I'm not having this issue now, coz i'm left my shard and went on to hybrid which has no gargole support.

But you are having to "emulate" that you are running windows.... not the same. A mac is nothing more than an expensive designer PC, on which you must pretend your machine is a PC to use 80% plus of the software coded in the world.
Thats just my opinion of course......
So, now you have the program running, eating up resources, AND you have the windows emulater running eating up resources.

i'm not emulating nothing, i'm running an actuall copy of windows. osx is not even loaded.
-
Ah, I stand corrected then sir! :D

emulating hasn't been the method for mac users since like '03.
Mac users are often some of the faster players in game because of how many beefy macs are out there.
-
As I said, I stand corrected. Although my opinion does not change.....
Just saying....

I feel as though we have strayed from the topic? lol!
