Old vet returning, need some advice on a PvP Mage template and suit

Hial, After about 5 years, I have started playing UO again. I have an old mage that I wanna use again for pvp. The template is:

Magery   105
Meditation   110
Eval Int   105
Resist           96
Spirit Speak   100
Fencing   100
Necro        100

I need some advice on this template, is it still usefull in pvp? if not (probably not) which skills do I need to change? I 'm willing to learn a new skill, but only if its easy to raise. plus that I ant a template that is relative easy to play

I got a +20 mage powerscroll in my bank box, better to sell it or use it?

gear; I did some googling and found some topics about mage stats.
40 LMC
25 HPI
100 LRC
12+ MR
70 DCI
Mana Increase
Focus on these stats on the gear?

Last question; Those good old doom arties are cheap right now. Which one would be usefull for the gear of this mage? I heard imbueing is the way to go now, but isn't it better for a vet noob to just buy the old artiest and slowly replace those with imbued items?

You could buy the old arties and replace with imbued ones as you go...   you could also join a faction and get faction items (old arties on steriods+) ... you can also look for specific items to fill your needs by using one of the search sites

Suit looks good to me. Depending on how you build it I may try to add a little HPR, but it isn't necessary. Make sure to get yourself a -20 mage weapon to use for defense instead of fencing.

For skills I recommend; 120 magery, 120 eval, 120 resist, 120 med, 120 focus, 120 mysticism

That's the easiest mage template to play currently imo. With cleansing winds and enchanted apples necro has become nearly useless since it's spells are mainly curse based. There are different changes you can make depending on your play style (group, solo, etc).

I haven't pvp'd much the past couple months so there may be something better.

Spirit speak is like eval to necro. So without necro there really isn't much use for it unless you really want to see ghosts move about.

Mysticism isn't too bad to raise. As with any other casting skill, make sure to have 40lmc and as much mana regen as you can. I suggest dropping fencing first and using your necro/ss to cast a shadow wisp to help with extra mana regen. Then as you get higher I think you only need minimum 50 necro and ss to cast a wisp.
