Well...  The serpents that spawn in Blighted grove will spawn as fast as you kill them.   A stealther SDI mage with a snake / reptile slayer book can kill them in 1 ebolt a good portion of the time or a WHAMMY would destroy them easily.  (just have to lure Coil out of the picture)  It would be a high rate of leather coming in, but that's balanced by other factors (Faction peeps wanting to farm silver / Dryads spawning / Tangle / etc.)

I was just looking at a crossbow I made with one a few months back...

21 Mana leech  (Are you serious?)

I mean why do they make things with such LOW intensity?  It's just kinda stupid.

Actually ...

21 Mana leech is about right.   Mana leech & life leech now take into account the Speed of the weapon.  The higher the speed the lower possible leech.  This is why you only see 100% hit mana / life leech on really slow weapons (Halberds etc) with no ssi etc...   I know that when they made the original change to these leeches my Composite bow with 42 mana leech & 35% ssi became 23% mana leech...

Anway... also realize that for any archer weapon it will leech 1/2 as much as a melee counterpart with the same percentage leech...

Maximum amount possible to leech is 40% of dmg done.

What the "mana leech number" on your weapon is that EVERY HIT it leeches between 1 & "that mana leech #"  of the maxium (line above)...

Example..  I do 100 dmg to a monster.  My bow Has 30% Hit mana leech...
Maximum mana I can leech is 40% of 100 = 40 mana
Every hit with my bow I leech  a random amount from 0 - 30% of that 40 mana.. so on average I leech 15% of 40 mana = 6 mana.  THEN it gets halved because it's a Ranged Archery attack.. making the actual mana leech = 3 mana.   If it was a katana instead it would have leeched 6 mana.

onlyindreams ....  You can enhance imbued items, but you cannot imbue enhanced items..   This means that any item that you'd want to enhance should first be crafted out of the base material (iron / plain wood / regular leather) THEN Imbued  THEN enhanced.  (and yes if I understand stuff correctly  you could indeed waste alot of effort  by trying to enhance a super leet 5 mod something and fail breaking it...)

Thanks for the Warm Welcome.  As far as getting the wife to play....  Well I think that might be a BAD idea.  The first time she opened a chest & heard that creeeeaaakkkk! noise she'd lose it and put my cpu out a window...  (Too many bad memories of "whatever that noise is KNOCK IT OFF @ 1:00 am) lol....

That, and the fact that getting the TV "Power stick" outta her hands is bad enough.  Having to fight over MY computer would be beyond tolerable...

*sigh* that makes me recall one evening I was training parry & decided to use the random animals in the area... Well apparently I forgot to tab out on the last one and managed to kill a CAT with just wrestling..  You'd think I'd killed a REAL one by the look on her face when she came in the room & asked WTH.. was that!

Anways... nice meeting you all.

Well ..... a few things about myself.  I've been playing this addicting game for 12 years now, which for me was back when I was in college.  I live in Seattle & spend a good portion of those rainy days enoying some "UO time" which my wife has long since learned not to begrude me.  I spend most of my online time PvPing or tinkering with some script or another (probably 5 years EUO experience by now)...   Ahh.. the good ole days when the Cartography script was fresh & new & I had just enough knowledge to cobble together my own version to make a buck when the good one was still hard to get your hands on....  I'm quite knowledgeable about the "mechanics" of UO, so Templates / Formula's / or "How's this work" Questions are what I excel at...

Anyway.. Nice meeting you & I'll try to stay active, though I've got a "little one" on the way come December, so the wife's got LOTS of projects me between now and then...

PS...  It's totally Random, but my Household is "PET Central".  1 Dog, 1 Cat, Lots of Fish, 1 Ferrett...   The wife happens to be a Vet Tech so I'm good for fielding a fair portion of "My Dog ate.....  Questions" as well.

See you all around.
