Title: My Spring Cleaning Point results
Post by: TrailMyx on June 15, 2008, 11:21:28 AM
Not too bad for 30 minutes of work cleaning out the junk I had at my place.  I need to go through my other shards I guess.  Honestly, I only thought I had 1/2 this many.  ;)

Ok, a couple things, nice points, I have about 690k

Next, your snippet, I cannot reply to it. I posted a snippet for both, rather simple, no checks in there for much stuff, but working flawlessly for me, well, not flawlessly, I do have times where 1 or 2 items miss being turned in, but, out of 100 or so, that's not bad. Oh, and I posted mine on WINUO early last week, just wanted to say   :P I was quicker   :P Oh, and Guadah posted his Guadah stylle with menus to switch between.. but that was as a script and not a snippet.

Another thing, you're the freakin man.. I had maybe around 610k and daily I'm getitng more points with your full fisher..

There's one place in the my script section where you can do the feedback thing.  And yes, you were quicker, but I'm not the scripting community slut as I once was.  So you're welcome to be sluttier.  heh.  My days are done there.

Yeh, they give like 250 points for that worthless pre-box loot now.  So that's a good thing.  I had a BUNCH of ASOS and white nets and colored nets.  I wish I had been collecting the nets; I stopped collecting those.  My suggestion there is to drop your fishing by 0.1 to start getting all nets instead of SOSes.  You'll get a truckload of nets then and lots of points @ 500/per.

Ahh come on, you know i'm not a script slut.. your snippet is just more bullet proof. Anyways, yeah, I get kind ticked with not many nets, but I'll leave how I am. I like the occasional 5k point Ancient SOS.. and pre treasure loot, screw wasting the time to fish it up, just keep fishing and get points. I guess I should check for any remotely close to where I'm fishing.   I also need to stock up on pearls.

I'm looking forward to turning in my ASOSes on Napa.  I think I have like 50-60 there.  Never going to sell them.  Actually, I just started farming those, I'd leave the rest with the ASOS farmer option of the FAF.  I can't imagine how many SOS/Nets I'd have now otherwise.  At least I have room in my tower.  lol

Yeh, I had A BUNCH of the new level 11 artifacts to turn in.  I think I had 5-6 dragon's ends alone.  I just wanted to be able to get one ring/bracelet set.  I had no idea I'd have enough for 2.  ;)

Well, i'm up to 830k points. Haven't claimed anything yet. Just wanted to add TM, you rock, your fisher gets me close to 10k easily a day (yeah, I know that'd be a lvl 11 arti, but I don't have a set up to leave in a dungeon.)  Anyways, I am fishing up some of the SOS. Where my boat is around, I'll keep the SOSs to fish up in the area that doesn't take me half an hour to get to. Also to save time, you can just dump the chest with junk in it on the dude to turn in. Gets tiring to go sell all stuff when you have 12-15 chest easily.

Good there's not too many hiccups then.  I didn't think the collector parsed through the contents of a container...  That's really cool if it does.

Yeah I've used the fisher to hand in a lot too.  I started looting maps and nets too.  I still keep all colored nets and ASOS's.  I want to stock pile a bunch and when I start to actually play uo again to sit down and just do all the ASOSs and then do all the nets for fun. lol

I should probably script other things to make more money and what not...but the fisher is just a lot simpler to do.  It doesn't require long to set up like my library script.  Also less likely of getting caught.

I keep some colored nets. I also been keeping most ASOS, probably will end up turning them in too. Occasionally in an SOS chest, there is a net. So, that's like 250 for the chest, 500 for the net, a lot better than just 100 for a SOS.

Yeah but it takes sooo much effort to actually fish up an sos for me lol.  I just rather turn in the stuff.  Yeah I noticed that the bleue jewelry has been selling for around 9 mil a piece...I think I should turn my ancient sos's in as well.

One of these days I'll finish my AutoFish chest extractor.....  Haven't played with that one for a while.

That was one of the things on my many lists...but i'm more interested in programming this video game i've been working on for a couple years now when I have free time.

I'm kinda sorting SOS, there's a range of ones that I'm keeping, then once I have a good amount, I'll fish those up. basically keeping like 0-90 S and 40-90 W  We'll see how it goes... not wasting too much time sorting... so, once I build up I shouldn't spend much time fishing them up.

Nope, I am just manually doing it. But, most of time i'm just fishing them up while I'm doing other things.. work. errands.. and such

Doooood!!!

Ok, so you know I'm very xenophobic when it comes to running scripts.  I generally run mine, or I do without.  However, I made an exception with Kal's brilliant script.  It totally aides your MIB hunting since it will organize your MIBs/SOSes and sail you to their locations.  You just fish up the treasure.  It's one of the most useful scripts I have used.

Honestly TM i'm the same way.  I don't use other people's script.  The only script I use that's not mine are the claw and the fisher script.  I haven't used the claw in ages though.  I'll check out kal's script.

Ya, it takes a lot for me to recommend something.  I remember initially when I started scripting, I really got turned off/burnt out on all the uber-crappy scripts available when I first started.  But out of desperation (doing like 50 chests by hand and hating every one of them) I checked out Kal's offering.  I was pleasantly surprised that it still gives you the ability to do some fish up manually, but takes away the arduous task of organizing and sailing around.

I wrote a little complementary script for Kals, where I would take the full chests to my house, and the script would sort through the loot, store the gems, gold and scrolls.  I was going to plug the CLAw into it, but never got around to it.

Hmm, might look into it, see if it reads the locations or how it does, cause that could speed up my sorting. If i plan on fishing them up, then i'm basically running in lines. We'll see... just thinging of a way to get lots and lots of points, i'm glad i didn't get my 2 sets of jewelry, the armor sets seem pretty sweet.

Yeah I just used it and I'm impressed.  Before I was opening up all the maps and going through and marking their locations.  This thing did it like instantly.  I wish I didn't just go through like the 70 asos today before i read about that script and made uoam files lol.  It worked great.  So your script to pull up the asos...kal's to go to them and then manually fish them up.  It could be fun lol

Indeedy.  It makes for a good, brainless afternoon of UO.  Let the fisher do its thing, and then turn Kal's script loose as your own personal SOS bloodhound, all while you have a nice bottle of wine and watch a movie.  Scripting at its best.  You still have to be around to micromanage things, but that's ok.

It's just good to know that there ARE some useful scripts out there.  Hats off to you Kal wherever you are; awesome script.

You know, I think I get the best tickets/hr by turning in the leavings from the Heartwood quest.  I average around 9500 points/hr just turning in recipes and talismans.  It's a good byproduct if you are doing heartwood anyway.  Bowcraft is slower than carpentry just because of the time it takes to select the correct quest.

eh that requires wood...stuff I don't have.  I never ran a lumberjacker.  I find the easiest thing to do is spawns to get anti virtue artifacts...but i do it solo so i get ganked a lot.

On my shard, tickets are going for 500,000gold for a 10,000 point ticket which works out to 50 gold/point.  If it takes around 6K boards per hour for the heartwood quester and 9500 points/hr for the items, that works out to about 79 gold/board.  That's not including the occasional runic kit or uber item.  Just free items that I've been throwing away for years.

Also that works out to about 475000 gold/hr.  Speaking gold that is.  I won't be selling these items from the spring cleaning..  I'll bet on a populated shard, these numbers could easily be doubled.

Eh they are about the same price.  I'm still too lazy to lumberjack boards.  I just go to fel and collect anti virtue artis when I'm not getting ganked.  That averages about like 20k - 30k collection points for 30 minutes.

Not sure where i got those 2 snippets to turn in the items for spring cleaning TM, but thanks for posting that. Worked really fast for me and flawlessly. I did about 70 mibs today, and i got about 90 left, and about 20 boxes to sort out hehe. Is there a script somewhere that cleans out the treasure boxes with options of what u wish to loot? Anyways i gota run for today, its clobbering time at work tomorrow, got make sure im rested hehe. Lets see if he allows me to work or not, its better then sittin at home at least. Fisherman doesnt need me... hehe

there are more points bound up in the heartwood quester then fishing talisman in every other reward. and a recipe in almost every bag thats 350 points alomost ever quest. i just set looter for 0and get around 15k in points daily.

Well, way I'm going is, keeping some of the SOS and later fishing them up. I ran a line the other day fishing some up, and in about an hour, I had a bag filled of shipwreck items (25k pts worth) And that's to go on top of the 10-25k daily I pull. But, heartwood can also give you a runic. Though, fishing, I been running for days, unattended, no pages. To each their own, we can all have multi trial accounts that we ran the 25k pt quests on.

Use the CLAw :P
then bring the chest to the brit mages and sell everything you can
then bring the chest the the provis sell everthing you can again.. should only leave you with like 5 items to pull out then donate the chest and preloot

Or you can start using the Bounty Sorter and wait for it to be finished! (See Script Debug)

I have two accounts running collecting points.  One does the quester and gets around 6000-9000 points per hour.

I've started doing the fishing thing also just because that is totally AFK-able for the MIB part, and then is really easy to rack up 20-30K points/hr with the pre-chest loot.  All the pre-chest loot is 250 points, and you get the occasional special net is 500 points.  If you get a lucky spot, you can rack up points from all the junk crap you're always pitching.

I have a 4 step process for cleaning the chests quickly:
1) Run my cleaning script (much like Nicar's) that dumps all the scrolls/gems/gold into one container, and moves the nets to the main pack
2) Run the CLAw (targeted mode) to get whatever good loot might be in the chest
3) Run another function that moves all leftover items into the trash
4) Run the final function that moves all fishing pre-chest loot/net/maps/chests into a container that can be transported for ticket turn-in.

I've got this down to a science and have really started getting the points.

That's some point system you got going with the fishing, better than mine, per hour seems high, but, strategy seems same.

i like my simple script i got in debug... it's much like my turn in snippets i have. Only thing is, I am not evaluating the chest loot, there's been so many in past that's been junk, that I don't want to was that time. With my process I have, I can fish up about 40 chest an hour or so.. I think i'll time it next time.  Have about 60+ in a line I can run
