================================================================
Script name: neo's Inscription trainer
Author: neo
Version: 1.1
Client tested with: Stealth Interface 7.0.29.2
Stealth version tested with: 4.3.6
Shard: OSI
Revision Date: March 23, 2013
Public Release: March 23, 2013

Special thanks: Crome who has helped me A LOT, teaching me the
                ropes on Stealth and giving inumerous pointers.
                Cheers! :)
================================================================
Version 1.1       - Modified the setup part
                  - Will put books inside secure when skillcap
                    is reached
                  - Removed the need for a full spellbook. Now
                    you just need a book with recall and mark.
                  - A few minor improvements
----------------------------------------------------------------
Version 1.0       - Public release
================================================================
Instructions: - Have 2 secures close to you: one with reagents,
                blank scrolls and ingots. The other
                is where your crafted scrolls and super slayer
                books will be stored (you can add more properties
                to check for. Check 'GoodPropertiesArray' and add
                more if needed.
              - Have a trash barrel nearby. You will need to trash
                crappy books.
              - Have at least 1 tinker tools inside your backpack
                before you start.
              - When you hit play, the script will ask you to
                open the containers one by one(material, books and trash)
              - You NEED A FULL SPELLBOOK in your bag for this!!
------------------------------------------------------------------------
32.5 to 60.0 -> Crafts Recall scrolls
60 to 65 -> Crafts Mark scrolls
65+ -> Crafts Spellbook, keeps Super Slayers and trashes the rest
========================================================================

So, I've finally finished putting together this guy. I needed to train up Inscription so I decided to give Stealth a go.

Stealth is really powerful, I'll be working a lot more towards Stealth scripts from now on. Hopefully this is the first of many to come!

As always, any suggestions are more than welcome. Also, please leave some feedback if you use this! :)

(Make sure to read the instructions, this is pretty much plug and play, no hard coding needed)

Cheers! :)

EDIT: You would best use an Inscription Talisman for this! Suggestion by C2! Thank you :)

Should I get it up to 100 magery first ? I don't really know very well how magery influences inscription!

I was just shocked ya got a superslayer, I thought having high magery was the only way to get them. But since you got 2 with low magery - I am interested in any more ya get.

Well, when I left home I was at 98 inscription or so... Those were the only 2 I had gotten so far... I will post my results when I get back home tonight...

I have heard that to get the ss (high chance) you needed 120 mage (or 120 necro if you are doing them)

Hmm... I didn't know that! Guess I should have gotten magery up first!

Anyhow, finished getting it to 100. Just the Reptile and Arachnid slayer for me! :(

I'm gonna try again with a 120 magery toon, when I can... See if I get more ss's...

I don't know if high magery impacts your chances of getting a super-slayer book as much as it impacts your chances of getting more than one property on a book. It may have an intensity impact as well, I don't recall (it's been a while). Ideally you'll have 120 magery if you want the superslayer books with additional mods.

There used to be some theory that the "implied" magery total would have a positive impact as well. In other words, stacking Magery items on a toon who already has 120 magery giving your character 150+ Magery potential would increase your chances of producing higher-end books. Of course I have absolutely nothing to back this up but I always added as much in magery as I could when I ran book scripts since it didn't hurt anything.

Damn, I always feel like I'm last to know these things.... I will have to test this out for a while... I'll post my findings here!

Runuo is based on this Theory.. with 120 inscribe and 120 Magery you have a 1:100 chance for Slayer and 6:30 its a superslayer.. if i remember right

It's odd to point it out, but I tend to point out oddities that make me giggle.

Code: [Select]
Function CalculateSkill(SkillName:String):Double;
var Skill : Double;
begin
  Skill := GetSkillValue(SkillName);
  if ( Skill <= 20.0 ) and ( Race = 1 ) then
    Result := 20.0
  else
    Result := Skill;
end;

That's just clever on so many levels, lol. Good job again :D

Once I farm some scrolls and bottles (bottles not for this ofc) I'll give this a whirl. I wouldn't mind a fifth GM scribe on stone :)

I was going to train a character up to 120 magery to run this again. Since servers are down I've decided to write a magery trainer for Stealth in the mean time.

I'll probably leave it running tonight to try and get 120 magery, then run this again tomorrow!

I'll post the results here again!

Neo,

I just hit GM inscription thanks so much for sharing your hard work this script made my day.

Suggestions/Comments:
1) the GUI time was starting at 12 am and counting up as it ran, should it have started at zero?
2) It would be nice if your GUI menu had an option to always stay on top, I could not keep the GUI up and hear the sounds/type to friends.
3) My magery was 46 which was to low to get slayers or any special spell books for that matter, it only made normal ones with no attributes
4) I think it took 6 hours to go from 50 to GM inscription (using starting with 50 med and 14 mana regen)

Thanks again you rock

Thank you for the feedback RUP!

Let's see about the items you described:

1) Here it shows for how long you have been running the script. Weird. I'll have to look into that, maybe it has something to do with timezone configuration or something.
2) I think so too. I don't know if it can be done now, or if it has to be properly implemented. Either way, I'm sure to add this as soon as I can, or as soon as stealth can :)
3) Gimlet will like this information for his knowledge base I think heh
4) Awesome! Great to know it has worked well! Thanks again for the feedback !

Does having an inscription Talisman help in this in anyway... like one from the library donations

I could be wrong but I don't think exceptional matters. So a talisman with 30 to succeed is a big help.

Just an update to this thread, if I remember correctly neo utilized Pascal GUIs for this script (as well as his Magery Trainer), a feature which no longer has support for newer Stealth. Which means that these scripts will not work until updated to remove GUI usage.

So it's not working? I need a new scribe because I want a scrapper's compendium slayer(reptile slayer for new lands + for fishing!) and don't want to pay the 140M the only one on VS is selling for. If this script gets functional again there are some things you should do BEFORE using it for best results.

#1 - Don't start at 30 something bought skill, just create a new toon with 50 inscription and soulstone the 50 points over to your mage, you'll save an hour or two + related materials. Delete the new toon when you can.

#2 - Get magery to 120 first, or however high you plan on going, and let meditation rise if you have it(soulstone it on if you don't) so your downtime is minimal and you have a shot at better books while training.

#3 - Work it in heartwood so that you have a chance at recipes, that scrapper's pays nicely if you get lucky and get more onto it, it's already better than any book you can make and it's dyable with Tokuno dyes. Hug an elf after.

#4 - Get a talisman with +30 to inscription, exceptional doesn't matter but inscription helps

#5 - If you REALLY have money to burn use a scroll to get a bonus for 15 minutes while letting this rip, some say it works to give better books, not tested myself but one of those things that can't hurt.

I think he wroted it on Version 4.x with the OLD UI.
New Stealth doesnt support ui on pascal. You cannot go back to 4.x because of packets but you could mod his script to not show UI and instead setup variables yourself.

I updated this script, removing the UI stuff and sent it over to Neo ages ago. Unsure where it is nowadays, I tossed most of my stuff on an offdrive and dunno really where it's laying atm.

If someone who has it uploads it, or if neo uploads it.. I think the only issue that plagued it really was weight check, for some reason sometimes it really didn't want to unload items.
