Title: Communication error

I went into a pub on a Saturday night. I spotted two plump girls, with very strong accents, sitting at the bar talking.
 
I approached them and said, "Hi, ladies.  Are you two girls from Scotland?"

One of them chirped, "It's WALES, you freaking idiot !!!"

So I immediately apologized saying "I'm sorry, are you two whales from Scotland?" 

That's the last thing I remember.
