And holy *bleep*, 13.3%?!?! Ouch!

Yup, 13.3% state, 8.25% sales.  Not including federal.  So we're looking for a different state without sales tax for starters.

I'll never take anything away from California in regards to the weather, views or things to do, but yea.... my time there was spent in equal parts enjoying those things while moaning up a storm about taxes and the general cost of living.

Now I'm in South Carolina and while my dollar goes much further, I'd never live here on my own free will.

Had to ask about this one. TM in VT? Casanova in Milton?
He may have just remembered our VT banter.  Still in Cali(SD) for the time being.  Probably going to be moving to a much less "progressive" place relatively soon.  13.3% state taxes is just too much.
Aye my apologies!! But I am going to San Diego in January for recruiting school. Who wants to join the Marine Corps?!

Well Casanova, if you were in Milton, you most likely drove within a block of my house ;) And if I was 18, and knew what I know now, I would sign up!

And holy *bleep*, 13.3%?!?! Ouch!

I was over, off of Lake road and poor farm road so it's likely! Small World for sure!!

General UO Chat / MUL Files

Good Afternoon All,

I was going through an old laptop and found the UO MUL files needed for many of the things we have going on here. I imagine most elites/senior fella's either have these already or have other means to get them but figured I'd put it out there for anyone else who might need them.

I didn't think you could overload beetles anymore.

Oh you can. Guy's been doing it for the last week straight... Which good for him I just want to know how!

General UO Chat / Overload Beetle 60000 logs
« on: January 26, 2015, 04:36:28 PM »
I've been running the heartwood quester recently and have been alone for the most part except for one friend... Curious though that this one friend doesn't ever have to leave since his beetle is carrying 60000 Logs?! Anyone ion on how this is accomplished? I mean I think it's a bit dangerous given how easy it is to identify for questing purposes but who knows maybe it could be used in other ways....?

Been running this for stealth for a couple days. Was getting very very slow gains.... Realized once I hide I can immediately try to stealth if I walk instead of waiting. Gained like 2.4 points over 3-4 hrs last night. Have gained over 10 in 2-3 hrs this morning. I'm positive there's a better way to write this to walk back and forth but I'm not there yet. As well if my mouse wasn't on the game screen he would try running... so had to leave the mouse on the character.

General UO Chat / Re: Windows 8.1 UO Unplayable?!

I am running win 8.1 and have no problems at all. Choppy and laggy sounds like video card or internet card issues.

Thats true.  Have you tried to disable all your firewall and virus stuff temporarily?

Gentlemen, the problem has been resolved! McCaffe firewall wasn't about me playing Ultima Online. I uninstalled it and gave it permission through windows firewall and tadaaa just like that!!!

Thank you all for stopping in to offer assistance  ;D

Best UO community I've ever been a part of!

Weird. I have a differnet laptop but also an ROG Asus, similar specs. windows 8.1 Runs just fine.

I feel like it's some driver or setting that I just don't know how/or what to adjust... I'm a simple guy haha.

The machine itself is something to behold!!!

I don't think I even have UO running on my 8.1 box.  It's been collecting dust right after I barfed on it from 8.1 "ick" effect.  :)

Yea I think I'm just going to return the laptop tbh... $1,500.00 and can't play the only game I want it to...

Thanks for checking in on this though and happy holidays!

Have you tried the usual suspects like run as admininstrator, and run in a compatibility mode for something other than Windows Ick?

Yea. Run as admin, run compatibility win7, vista etc... Nothing.

Wife's like why doesn't it work isn't this like a good laptop?... I'm like well the game is from 1997.

I "googled" all morning and only thing I found was someone with a similar issue and it was their sound card but mine's saying everything is "up to date".
