I think that sounds about right.  Looks like you have a 1/2 chance to get some kind of recipe.  The runics are all pretty rare these days.  ;)

The recipe count looks good.  I just go by boards used. for the runics it seems like i get 6 or 8 good recipes and 2 runics for every 40- 50 k in boards. and the runics run a cycle 2 or 3 oak then an ash. 2 or 3 oak then a yew. 2 or 3 oak then a heartwood. then start over.

Yes, mostly there are quests for tailoring, bowcrafting, blacksmithing, tinkering and carpentry.  If you check out Craftmatic, that script will let you do most of the Heartwood quests.  Freddy has that at www.winuo.org.

Well, only 100K logs for 1 heartwood is pretty good.  I'd take that luck anyday!

HEHE, wait until the "Heartwood Blues" set in!  It was well into 1M boards for me for my first kit.  Anime will be the only thing you'll have.  But I do wish you continued good fortune!

How about burning through your first heartwood kit making exceptional footstools with properties?

When I first put the Quester together I didn't have a loot bag and thats exactly what happened.

I caught it with 2 charges left  :-\

Live and learn.

Ouch!...    Haven't tried you guys script yet.  Been using another *sighs*  Which means doing all the foot work.   I was really board and for the first two days did it manually and that got old real fast.  Been debating on trying the log turn in script.   But I am such a pack rat I decided to wait till I have at least 5 mil in logs.  :-p

Pretty normal actually.  These days it seems to be more difficult to get kits/saws than it used to be.  I wish I had kept accurate count of my stats, but I have suffered some pretty hard luck with the questing thing myself.  :)

P.S. Welcome!

I just used the HW script, for about 400k of board, the script is a work of art , I really like it especially the tada when u get an item of value. So far best item was a oak runic ill keep trying .
THXS for writing and sharing this script.

The TADA was some of Cerveza's flair.  :)

From way back when it was a simple script.... before TM made it all "nice" with all his "checks" and "safety's"...

Heck, when I started I was lucky to run the thing for an hour without some type of interrupt. Then, with TM's help, I put in some really good subs to ensure actions were more stable. And of course the inclusion of TM's awesome rail really turned a little project into the UO changing script this is  :D

From humble beginnings....

I wonder what the GMs would do without having to patrol Heartwood because of this script.  Oh, and the griefers too!  They'd have to find something else to whine about.  heh

I got spoiled and got a Yew kit in my first 10K boards.  Since then I have had my expectations beaten more into line wit three oak kits in the next 200K boards.  Lots of talis though, which is some consolation.  I started a collection of 100 Kill talis and slayer talis.

My friend has been doing just lethal darts and used about 50k of bolts so far.  He has gotten 6 oaks 2 ash 1 yew and 1 heartwood.  I think he got a bit lucky but 50k of bolts is 5,000 quests.

You should be able to get a much better return on the Simple Bow quest, but at the sacrifice of a lot more wood.

I changed the script to do Heavies so that I could GM fletching at the same time. Is there a correlation between what you make and what you get for rewards?  I will switch back to the simple bow quest if making Heavies is just going to eat more wood.

Thanks again for the script TW. Really appreciate it.

The difficulty of the item has no effect on your likelihood to receive a kit/saw.  There is use for moving up to heavies.  Frankly, when I GMed bowcraft, I didn't even go to heavy crossbows; I did it with just crossbows.  But the fact that you can use the heartwood quests to GM a skill is a nice feature.  Too bad you don't have the same options for carpentry.
