General UO Chat / Re: Moonstone jewelry?
« on: September 18, 2010, 08:48:36 PM »
What is moonstone jewelry and how is it obtained?

http://vboards.stratics.com/ask-devs/221888-gypsys-moonstone-jewelry.html

Thanks!

It is obtained by killing gypsies, appears on their corpse and it was just revealed that it has a 1-in-25,000 chance of spawning (slightly better than the Detroit Lions winning the Super Bowl in my lifetime!).  The jewelry changes colors with the phases of the moon, and while it has no stats upon spawn, it has been stated by UHall posters (not by Devs) that it can be imbued.  From what I read, you can also get a ring, a bracelet, a necklace, or earrings, although I have not gotten any myself, so I cannot confirm any of the posted information.

My NFL team (Bears) won, but I think they are not that good.

Your team "beat" my team, the lowly Lions!  I missed the game (working), so as a Bears fan, can you tell me if that was a catch/touchdown?  I'm sure you know what play I'm talking about!

OK, here's what I've figured out so far (about what's causing the error on my end, not how to fix it, although I haven't had any problems from the error):

When I start UO with UOAssist, I get about 23 of the error messages cascading from the middle of the screen.  If I open UO though the client itself, there are no issues, nor are there any when opening an additional client with EUO.  Again, I haven't had any problems from the error messages, as I just close them and continue on (although I don't know if closing them is even necessary).

_C2_ Script Library / Re: C2's Keg Emptier

I noticed an omitted bracket in the empty_keg sub, although I don't think it is causing any problems.  It looks like it should go between lines 154 and 155, but I'll let you confirm that for sure :)

When I open up a second EUO, I get a cascade of error 5 messages. I think it may have something to do with a power outage that happened over the weekend during a big storm. Not sure what is wrong.  Permissions all appear to be in order.

I got this same error earlier today as well, after closing UO to re-open it with UOAssist, although I don't know if the errors occured before closing UO or while the patching screen was loading, with about a dozen windows cascading from the middle of the screen.  I currently have 4 clients running and haven't seen this error since restarting UO.  I will watch for it and let you know the circumstances under which it happened.

Scripting Chat / Re: Can someone test kalocr for me?

I tested this and got the same as you.  And when I changed it from 1 to 4 (to scan Anatomy instead of Wrestling...not sure if you can scan the other pages, but the example picture showed Wrestling as the test), it said that the name was V4 and the value was Y, so there is definitely something off...

OK, this may not make much sense, but I thought I'd mention it here anyway.  I haven't actually tried using this script yet (need to do all the legwork for setting it up first, marking rune(s), secure, etc), but as a friend already uses the script, I took a stab at adding a sub which goes to ter mur prior to dropping the loot, so that it can unravel all of the loot that was given in the quest, since most of it is not worth keeping otherwise and I am sure we can all use more residue and enchanted essence!  A friend has been using the edited version with no problems (at least no problems after some bug fixes), so I just thought I'd mention it in case you wanted to consider adding it in to this script as well.  I can pull the code I added if you're interested too, but don't want to post anything here since it's obviously not my script!  Anyway, it was just an idea for improving the script that wasn't too difficult to implement, so I thought I'd share.  Back to your regularly scheduled scripting...

Hola!  I had heard that this project was in the works, but am just getting around to checking these boards for the first time in quite awhile.  And while I am probably still a bit of a novice scripter, I have been trying to learn more about OCR, among other aspects of scripting.  So, I thought I would see if this part of the script has been tackled yet, or if there is anything else that is still being needed that I might be able to give a shot at?  I will say that I have absolutely no artistic ability, so anything menu-related or that you may want to "look pretty" is out of the question, and while I may take the long way to write some subs, I generally write fairly stable and easy to follow code, so it can be tweaked by those more in the know after the basics are written (I hope that makes sense).  Anyway, I will still be taking a look at the OCR stuff, regardless of whether this is already being written for this project, as I do still want to learn more about it and see what else I can come up with to make my scripts even better!

New member introductions / Hola!
« on: October 01, 2009, 03:29:20 PM »
Hello, all!  A friend just turned me on to this website, so I thought I would register and check it out.  I'm not sure of what kind of introductory information I should include, since I don't want it to sound like a personals ad (37/m/MI) :-)  Anyway, I have been using and writing scripts for about 5 years now, well using for 5 and writing for about 3, and have several scripts that I may look at releasing (some of mine are now obsolete and others are edited versions of other people's scripts, so I don't want to release those [house placing for IDOCs, fully automated fishing, etc]).  I am working on several BOD related scripts, having written some that utilize other's bod fillers to fill books rather than backpacks full of bods, and also several sorting scripts that are being reworked to try being an all in one sorter (currently either sorts PoF bods into 20% and 90% books, iron and cloth into separate books, or all of the above, but they need a little work now that I've learned to work a little better with strings).  I am always looking for new script ideas as well, especially smaller projects that I can use to learn something new, although a friend usually keeps me busy with his own ideas (which also play into my own needs, so it's mutually beneficial!).  Well, I guess that's all for now, as I am starting to bore myself.  If there is anything you want to know, feel free to ask, since that sounds like another personal ad line, so it's a nice way to close!
