A friend gave me a 110 fishing scroll and I have since worked myself up to 110 fishing.  Prior to this I haven't really given the fishing quests much of an effort.  Now that I am maxed at 110 and need to obtain a high level scroll I figure now is the best time to get involved.

So.. Who out there has the best method for fisherman questing?  I am curious to hear from others on what methods you are using and to see if there is a favored method to attacking this quest.  Any tips, explanations, and other information would be greatly appreciated.

I figured that the post I did for trading Compassion Dyes worked well here so why not setup a thread for us to get together on these tickets and help each other out again.  I am always in favor of helping my fellow SUO members out before any other UO hoodlum.

The FBI has been training a promising group of cadets and have eliminated all but 3 in the process.  The instructors then decide that the last 3 cadets are ready for the final test.

Cadet 1 -
Instructor -  "Cadet... Behind that door is your wife.  We want you to take this gun, enter the room, and put a bullet in her head."
Cadet - Looking a little puzzled the cadet responds "Sir... I can't do that to my wife."
Instructor -  "Sorry son.. but you fail."

Cadet 2 -
Instructor -  "Cadet... Behind that door is your wife.  We want you to take this gun, enter the room, and put a bullet in her head."
Cadet - The cadet takes the gun and enters the room.  After a few minutes he returns "I had the gun up to her head, but I am sorry I just can't do that to my wife."
Instructor -  "Sorry son.. but you fail."

Instructor -  "Cadet... Behind that door is your wife.  We want you to take this gun, enter the room, and put a bullet in her head."
Cadet - The cadet grabs the gun, enters the room. BANG! BANG! BANG!
Instructors - The two instructors turn to each other and nod theirs heads in acceptance adding "I think we have found our man".

Suddenly, a terrible ruckus breaks out inside the room.  Screaming and yelling can be heard.  Chairs and tables are being thrown about.  Then the door opens and the cadet walks out.  His clothes are a mess and he was out of breath.

Instructors - "What on earth is going on in there?"
Cadet -  "Well Sir... Some idiot put blanks in this gun... So I had to strangle her to death!"

I have read some posts and forum conversations relating to having a protector when doing spawn to double the amount of pinks that you can get.  Until becoming a member of this site I didn't even know such a thing existed:(  Can someone explain this process a little further for me? 

1) How it works?
2) What template should I make for a protector? I am assuming a stealther?
3) I have to kill reds to make a protector correct?

I am very unclear on the best ways to get setup and I know there is a post somewhere explaining some of this a little further but for the life of me cannot find it.

Well... Since I have returned to the game I have began to rebuild all my characters   I have enjoyed the fruits of everyone's hard work here and will obviously continue to reap the benefits of those willing to spill their knowledge onto these forums

One of the things that I love to do in game is to setup a vendor where I sell imbued suits.  These suits are enhanced with all resists and what not that people grow to love.  It takes a fair amount of time to create these suits and at times I feel as though I cannot keep up with demand.  So... with all this in mind I have been curious at giving a script a try to help me in my merchant duties.

So here is my question:

     I have been looking at the forums on where to begin.  I am a complete novice and have never really been a fan of programming so this may take some time to get into the groove.  I see a post "Tutorial 1 - Basic Script Flow" and wonder if this is where to begin?  I had a few Java programming courses in college but remember almost nothing from it.  I also remember reading something about starting with a post from EUO site but don't seem to be able to locate that information now?  My dream would be to create a script that will help to cut down the time it takes to make these suits and possible create something good enough to contribute to others.  Don't think that you will offend me by speaking beneath me or anything of that nature.  I sometimes wonder if buying a specific programming book would help me start but considering the talent displayed here I trust the input/direction that you all will provide.

What I would like to first accomplish:

     I guess the first part that I wish to tackle is the creating of the armor pieces followed by the enhancement of each item.

1) I will need to grab resources from a container.  Make 15 of each armor piece and then place those into a "armor" bag.
2) Replace the leather.  Script will need to be able to grab enhancement materials and also need to grab the "armor" bag since the pieces can only be enhanced when in your backpack.

I realize this may sound like novice stuff to most of the well seasoned scripters, but I think this will be a great start and a considerable challenge considering my seriously novice state.

I have read the rules and I believe I am okay to ask this question.  I used to play years ago as mentioned in my "Introduction" and when I played before there was a specific mining script that I loved.  That script still exists to this day but was in need of some updating.  My friends also use the same script and have requested a few updates as well.  So I am working on the display making sure that counts add up/display properly.  I have now listed Crystalline Blackrock to the display but continue to have 2 issues that I might need a little input on.

1)  My Diamond count was clearly off because it was registering far more than the others.  Upon investigating the issue I have found that Small Blackrock and Diamonds share the same "TYPE" (UVF).  Is there a way to separate the two?

2)  I have made it so that Crstalline Blackrock will display but it keeps adding to the "Fire Ruby" count.  The coordinates of the display within the script are correct.  I was wondering... I had a hard time trying to figure out whether to classify the Crystalline Blackrock as an "ore" or a "jewel".  Is it possible that this is my issue?

I know it is difficult to see without posting the script but I do believe it is against rules since I am not the author of the script.
