General UO Chat / Re: How are you earning gold on prodo?
« on: May 12, 2019, 05:19:24 PM »
I've about stopped running scripts. But MW's LJ still flies and wood is excellent cleanup points. 12x's miner still works and all that can be turned in for cleanup. The dyes and talismans sell decent as long as you don't flood the market.

With all the freebie accounts there's actually a good market for mace and shields again.

Easy straight gold farming with bag of sending? Crystal demon things in prism of light or fandancers.

PS: if someone could lend some knowledge with my issue in the programming section here I'd appreciate it

Programming / Operating Systems / I NEED HELP!
« on: May 06, 2019, 09:00:41 AM »
Guys I need help. I'm running an older comp win 7. (I know I know. I'm just not ready for 10 yet)

I've got a corrupted update which when restarted will configure update, failure to configure, and revert changes loop. This loops now lasts for a solid 3 hours.

Microsoft update troubleshooter lists it as windows update error 0x80080005

Things I've tried:
Disable windows updater
Disable antivirus
SFC scannow
Clear software distribution folder
I tried dism but got an error 87 with that
(Edit) looked for a restore point but it seems to only save 1 point during the previous week

I would rather not do a factory reset if I can help it. I'm 100% stumped and 500% frustrated. If any of you guys could give a helping hand I'd appreciate it.

We use www.ServUO.com  they have an emulation server that you can install on a server or local computer and then play from there.  It is developed in C# and so you will need an understanding of C# in order to edit scripts and add scripts.

Thanks!! Sounds out of my league but it could make a fun project on downtime.

What does it take to start a freeshard?

I would love to make a mirror of OSI, with my personal touch of course, but i don't know how to start or if it's even possible for me since i have extremely limited coding ability.

I've got the same virtual memory error using UOA. 1 computer reboot and I was able to get in.

With the amount of bugs this latest patch has brought, I am confident it's an issue with their patch and not on the player side.

Both are capped on str and base since I'm not scrolling out throwaway test pets. GM Wrestle,Tact, Anat. I did hit something for mid 70s but for the most part it was high 50s to 68. It's just nowhere near the damage I expect from a discord tamer with this caliber of pet.

How hard was it hitting?

Average mid 50s with seldom low 60s after discord. High 30s to mid 40s no discord. It may be better scrolled but I don't see a drastic damage increase.

Completely finished training a lesser hiryu from 1-5. I was able to max everything but skills. Even with grasping claw and my character using disco, the 100% phy damage doesn't do nearly the damage I'd like so this pet will be at the bottom of my to use list.

This one was a complete experiment so I added the special nerve strike after the second training and it took away the option to add any other special and AOE. Bushido was chosen at the final level so it looks like any magic related special will take away all other options.

What special moves/magical abilities do you have on the nightmare?

I went basic with Armor ignore only. Skills are GM and I've got to say, it's a real beast with that high mana. Hp, resists, str and base damage were capped as well. It plays well beyond my expectations to be basic.

I don't do test center so I'm just now playing around with training. This is the most fun I've had in UO in a LONG time!!

Do you know how INT effects your pet? ....

ATM I'm using more MANA then Int.  I have  Cue build up with Disco and AI. It use mana for every action he perform. but the INT never move.

Still have to test int on a spell caster pet.

Tested 2x with fully trained nightmare with 1200 mana 700int. Int never moved but I could never completely dump mana due to having gm med and focus. I did get down to 13 but it almost instantly jumped back to 60. High Int looks like a wasted mod to me.

Side note: I am in the process of training a lesser hiryu and it looks amazing. I trained from 1-3 so far and I'm positive I can max everything and still have points to spare.

3-10 rounds at Navery will completely train(the new version) your pet depending on the amount of people there.

So far I have done a Cu and a nightmare but I found I cannot add everything I wanted so I will play around with 1 slots when time permits.

I really need to know if MR on a pet gives diminishing returns like it does players. If not then it would be wise to compare the weight of adding more int or max MR.

Feint is going on my next pet to see how it works.

  I need some help.

I've had the same ICQ version since I got my latest computer over a year and a half ago. Suddenly last week I get a popup about ICQ not being installed properly. I close the popup without clicking anything and the next time I loaded ICQ it had automatically updated itself to version 10 which is huge and horrible.

I uninstall and reinstall my old previous version but every time I log out and back in I get the same popup with the automatic update. I can't get rid of this for some reason.

I'm at a loss as to why I seem to be the only one this is happening to and I have no idea how to fix this.
