Receipes / pancakes
« on: January 08, 2012, 05:04:58 PM »
The kiddo's love pancakes on sundays so i tried some add in some flavor. So i hit the grocery and picked up some different cookie chips.

What you do is take your basic pancake mix where you add water and wait until you actually pour the batter in the skillet before adding in the chips. If you mix while it's in the bowl they'll ALL sink to the bottom.

The greats:
1:Pumpkin pie spice added to batter in bowl. This is by far my fav and amazing with coolwhip topping
2: Reese's peanutbutter chips added to batter (top with some jam you've got pb&j pancakes)
 3: vanilla chips -- amazing.

Not so great: Butterscotch.

Uncharted terroritory: cake sprinkles!!

I've got an old motorola devour phone with a lot of irreplaceable pics and videos on it (never got around to putting them on the comp) and now it's saying my SD card is locked. I've tried unmounting the card/rebooting with no luck.

Half my pics and videos are missing from the phone but i can access all of the pics when i plug it into the computer (even though one section says files are corrupted)but still with xmas being tomorrow i have no camera or camcorder to film the kids.

Does anyone know if i can fix this or how? The tech support with my phone carrier could not and neither could a motorola tech but i know half you guys have more knowledge than support people anyway..

Off Topic / Cell Phones?

I'm reconsidering my contract with Verizon because i'm basically paying more per month for my phone than i am my car insurance. I'm REALLY thinking of switching to one of those prepaid card systems like BoostMobile or one of those. I'm paying $84 monthly for 450min/unlim txt and data with my phone right now.

What do you guys have and how much does it cost? If you don't mind me asking.

Off Topic / The smartest man in America?
« on: September 12, 2011, 06:42:44 PM »
I saw this on the Today show i believe the other day and cannot stop thinking about how easily this guy is making money.

This guy took a camcorder along with a small webpage, facebook and twitter account and will ultimately be a millionaire in a few years by doing something as simple as making a short webcast and a few blogs a day.

What does he do? He's into marketing and undoubtly does it to a T (literally!). He sells every day of the week, his upper torso. Companies send him (FREE) t-shirts to wear during his normal day and he makes a short webcast wearing his tee along with making a couple blogs that i assume is about the product/service.

So far he's hired 4 extra people to help him with his work and is looking for a few more people. They too, do the same work as him but i'm not sure what percentage they get of the profits.

What does he charge? $1300 to almost $1500 a DAY to wear their shirt. Do the math!! If you average $1400 a day, that's $511,000 a YEAR for minimal website upkeep along with a webcast and a couple chats on FB which i assume the whole day's work wouldn't take more than 3-4 hours.

Since he's hiring even more people, i can almost bet he'll start with multiple clients per day to double his money. Check them out at www.iwearyourshirt.com  How BRILLIANT is this man?!

Receipes / Southern style breakfast pizza
« on: September 04, 2011, 08:17:24 PM »
**warning** This is VERY time consuming and will most likely lead to a clogged artery. Expect to spend around an hour for this. Let's face it, if you're hungry and cooking for an hour anything will taste good...

What you need:
cast iron skillet and a nonstick teflon skillet
1 pack pre patty sausage
1 pack pre cooked bacon
1 dozen eggs
1 pack shredded cheddar cheese
1 ready made pizza crust (available in the pasta isle at your grocery store) i used thin crust
flour
milk
pizza pan (i use throw away aluminum)
1 hand wisk

-Follow directions on the pizza crust to preheat oven
-medium heat fry bacon in cast iron skillet and place on plate and chop into fine pieces
-medium heat fry sausage in cast iron skillet and place on plate and chop into fine pieces
-REDUCE HEAT TO LOW do not drain skillet
-insert maybe half cup to 3/4cup flour and around 1 cup milk or slightly more into skillet with grease and wisk quickly then raise heat to medium while continuing to wisk until all lumps are out and gravy starts to thicken (gravy takes time to master so may not turn out well for a few times)
-spread gravy evenly over pizza crust like you would pizza sauce
-beat eggs and mix in small amount of milk then pour into teflon skillet medium heat
-scramble eggs finely
-mix scrambled eggs/bacon/sausage into large bowl then add to pizza crust
-top with cheese and bake (i believe it's 15min or until crust is brown)
- you can also add in onions/ham/peppers or whatever your favorites may be

Ive been trying to play around with this some but it's just too time consuming to make more than once a month. Country ham is delicious on this i will add.

Receipes / Great spanish-style stuffed peppers for not so great cooks
« on: September 04, 2011, 07:25:18 PM »
Simple 30min spanish style stuffed peppers with minimal cleanup.

Ingredients:

-1lb hamburger or more depending how many you're cooking for (i use the leanest i can find 95-5)
-1 pack mild taco seasoning for 1lb burger add more accordingly
-Stuffed peppers (varies depending on how many you're cooking for)
-LOTS of mild CHUNKY salsa
-your favorite spanish rice (i found the 90sec uncle bens spanish rice works amazing since its not spicy)
-Veggie oil
-throw away aluminum lasagna pan and enough foil to cover the pan
-ASIAGO cheese FRESH (this is very important to the taste so don't skimp out because of the price)

Preheat oven 350.
cover bottom of baking pan with salsa
cut peppers in two and gut
lightly coat peppers in veggie oil and place in baking pan
brown hamburger/drain and add taco seasoning
microwave the rice and add into peppers
add taco meat over the rice in peppers
sprinkle with asiago cheese to taste
lightly spoon more salsa over top
cover and bake 30min

The peppers will come out mostly crisp. The onions and spices in the salsa combined with the taco seasoned meat and the bold taste of the asiago cheese will produce pure happiness for your tastebuds...Not to mention the amazing smell that will fill your home. I have impressed professional cooks with these. They are delicious and so easy anyone can do them.

I had one of these in 01!!

Vid itself isn't that great it's the commentary that makes me laugh.

General UO Chat / Good grief...

EA support is total crap. I've been through hell and back trying to get a stripped account deactivated before they auto bill me tomorrow.

online support: your info doesn't match the account

1st call: your info doesn't match and the account site is down for maint. Took about an hour but they bypassed something and said it was deactivated while im walking around in game. Still shows it's active and can still log into it.

2nd call: currently walking around on char and been on hold 20min so far... **EDIT** Finally got ahold of someone with common sense and knowledge. The guy said the account system is currently down for a lot of members and can't be accessed through the tech team until the merger is complete, which is tomorrow. Any unwanted billing will be refunded.

Starting next month i will only use either gametime or prepaid cards.
