Remember having to hide your chests behind a row of tables, and unlocking one of them whenever you wanted to get access?

Scripting Chat / Re: How to name a rune?
« on: July 05, 2009, 02:58:37 PM »
TM: Perfect.  I couldn't find any documentation or examples of how to just type something and hit enter.  I appreciate the help.

Using your excellent runebook subs, I now have a hard-coded runebook copying script working.  The next step is to get it working dynamically and release a public version.  Thanks for the help here and the awesome subs.

Scripting Chat / How to name a rune?
« on: July 05, 2009, 12:29:40 PM »
Not sure if this should be in Scripting Debug or in this forum, so apologies if this is in the wrong place.

I'm trying to use EUO to name a rune.  Right now I have:

Code: [Select]
set #lObjectID %blankrune
event macro 17

%blankrune is the objectID of the rune I want to rename (properly set elsewhere).  This essentially double clicks on that rune, bringing up the prompt to give the rune a name.  Can anyone give me some guidance on how to set the name from this point?  Or if there's an alternative way to rename the rune?

Thanks!

UO-Related Tutorials / Re: New Char, New Shard, an Essay.

I'm impressed with how quickly you raised up these skills.  It seemed to take much longer on my warrior, although it's one of the few chars that I basically didn't macro unattended.

Still very much enjoying this thread, by the way.

I was going to train up another cartographer soon, so I'll try this out.  I recently raised another thunter with CEO's old script and it worked pretty well, but your mining script is the one I use the most, by far, so I'll have to give this a shot.

General UO Chat / Any regulars play Great Lakes?
« on: June 21, 2009, 11:21:24 AM »
I rarely see anyone mention Great Lakes on these boards.  I recently returned to that shard after playing there in the 1990s.  Wouldn't feel right to play anywhere else.

I eat this kind of stuff up.  Love the idea.  Please keep updating this.  As a returning player, it is taking a long time to figure out the best way to do things in what is now a very different game.  Most of these forums assume a great deal of background knowledge, and EA have done a stunning job of making an incredibly complicated game with almost no official documentation.  Looking forward to future posts.

Player Templates / Re: Whammy

Is anyone currently playing a template that has high healing/anatomy?  Can anyone weigh in on how effective this is against serious spawn?

Great advice.  I took parrying from 58 to 115 in just a few hours at the Yew farms.

Useful post.  I've actually been building one of these the last few days.  What is the current strategy for raising Parrying?  The two scripts on EUO seem outdated.

UO Bragging Rights / Re: Fishing

300+ ASOSs?  Good god.  I just started fishing again and got a total of 1 ASOS out of 80 MIB bottles.  Was I just unlucky?  Or is there a way to maximize the likelihood of getting one?

Looks interesting... will try this tonight.

I'm thinking not... unless you post up a decent intro first.

Oops!   Didn't realize that was the rule.  Sorry!  Corrected!

New member introductions / Hail!

Like many others, I am a returning player.  My main stint in the game was in the late 90s, when I played for a few years.  There is still much to reminisce about, although probably not the first six months I spent in the game.  My main character was a miner, and I manually -- no macros, no scripts -- raised the skill to GM entirely on the iron in the large cave on Arctic Island.

After UO, I spent a few years in Everquest.  A few years ago, I lost a summer to World of Warcraft.  Both were good games, but I quickly wore them out.

I'm working away from home this summer and had a few very boring weekends in a new city where I didn't know anyone.  Rather than do something crazy like be social and meet new people, I decided to fire up a trial account and enjoy a little bout of nostalgia.  Needless to say, it didn't take long to get hooked back in.
