whats the script about?
It's about 2000 lines.

Lol and same goes here. Didn't see the age of the threadand added my own resurrection post.
It will never die now that so many people have cast their resurection spells on it.

Scripting Chat / Re: Quick question about corpses
« on: August 12, 2010, 05:12:10 AM »
hide and ignore all corpses on the ground then do a search for the monster and then a search for a corpse with the sam ID.

Code: [Select]
FindItem List_of_monsters_to_find G_10
Set %MonsterID #FindID

lookForCorpse:
FindItem YFM G_10
If #FindID = %MonsterID
 Set %MonsterDead #True
else
 Goto LookForCorpse

Something on the lines of this should do. Not tested as I am at work and don't have access to UO, but it looks about right.

I am crrently on the Virgin Media XXL Cable package (50Mb) which I have found to be good for speeds (average around 45Mb on speedtest.net).

Almost identical to the player who tosses the White Net that summons the Leviathon. Got nowhere to hide :(
I thought you could hide once the net has been cast, als if you cast protection before digging wouldn't it be possible to get off an invis (don't quote me on this as I'm a bit dusty about game mechanics from my long absence).

I started out as a breaker as I tried to get to grips with the language, I then became a fiddler as I ripped other scripts to bits to see how they worked and then used this info to cobble together my own script. I would now class myself as a coder but with limited expertise. I could create a script for most tasks given the time.

Hello and welcome to the site. nice to see people returning to the game after a lengthy period away.

Have you ever thought of kicking OSI paid shards into touch and trying out some of the freeshards??

Bake you some cookies? LOL :P
I would but I don't have sufficient skill to make that item.

Once again thanks for the Welcomes.

Nice to see a few older EUO peeps on here.

I'm enjoying being back in the game too much to spend any real time scripting. Believe it or not 99% of my posting and scripting is done at work, but I am unable to test anything I write till I get home and find out that it has all gone pear shaped once it has been run.

My first rework will by my fishing script. I found that on the Alexandria shard there were a few differences to the OSI shards I used to play making the script unworkable on RunUO shards.

Hello and welcome to the site.

What scripting experience do you have??

Are you a creator, breaker or fixer?

1.. Creator (One who writes code from scratch)
2.. Breaker (One who has a fiddle with other peoples code trying to alter it, but with no success)
3.. Fixer (One who fiddles with other peoples code and either makes it work or addes more functionality to it).

I'm a bit of a Creator/Fixer. Although I have written a a few scripts, I tend to use other peoples code and fiddle about with it till it does exactly what I want it to do. This sometimes means altering a mage only script to incorporate or replace magery with archery or another combat skill.
Nice to see you have been playing for a while. I originally started in 1999 and called it a day some time in 2005, I then took some time off and have just recently started playing again after a 5 year break.

Which shard do you play on?

Television/Movies / Re: Avatar and Aliens is the same movie
« on: July 27, 2010, 01:08:49 AM »
I liked avatar but I guess to each his own.  My kids can not watch anything that lasts for over 15 mins straight but they managed to watch Avatar from beginning to end without saying one word.
My son is the opposite, he'd find paint drying just as entertaining. He enjoys watching a lot of the films we watch, he was a little lost with Avatar as he could not keep up with the subtitles (7 years old) but we got it on DVD as I too enjoyed it enough to warrent buying it. I am the same if a film is technicaly advanced in effects then I'll be one of the first to queue up to watch it. I even went to see Toy Story because of the (then) advanced CG animation.

Hey Taz, I see your comments all the time over at EUO.  Glad to see you found your way over here.  I'm Miffy on the EUO boards, but I wasn't very active over there.

Anyhow, welcome!

I will admit it now. I was forced over here by not having access to EUO site. But with the farming and harvesting rules a little lax on here then I should be able to post up some of my (FREESHARD Alexandria) scripts. Can't concentrate on them at the moment. After 5 years away from the game, I keep getting side tracked by playing the game instead of trying to get at least one script knocked out. My fisherman script is still a long way from completion, but I think it should work on a lot more shards than the OSI specific one I originaly wrote.

I went mentle when they started ML type woods on Lexia, I think I spent a good 5+ hours manualy lumbering away. This weekend ended up spending about 4 hours burning through 10k wood, 1k bolts and bout 2k ingots doing the heartwood quests, and all I did was pop down to try out Kals OCR sub. Well as you have guessed, I never got around to doing anything with the OCR, I did knock up a quick routing to mark and hand in the items depending on which item was in your backpack.

Although most of my scripts will first appear on the EUO site, I will add any 100% attendance free scripts here. Just wished I had kept my original fishing script as this was 100% self reliant, it even had the option to hand in fish steaks at the library.

Untill the novelty of being back in the game wears off, I can't see me getting much done script wise, just enjoying playing again for the time being. I've even got my partner playing as well.
