I've read some interviews and the stars of the Twilight movies find their fans' behavior extremely distasteful. At least one of them signed on for a paycheck not realizing the popularity of the books or the insanity of the fanbase.

I listened to the series on audiobook so I could see what was so horrible about them (I like to listen to audiobooks while I craft IRL style) and found them to be no more remarkable then any other poorly written romance novel. It's basically emotional pornography for women.

Book 4 might be interesting to see on film, but only because that's when things start to get a little weird even for crappy fantasy romantic fiction.
