Title: Tinker Trainer
Post by: Paulonius on November 11, 2009, 02:50:07 PM
Paulonius' Tinker Trainer

This script is a simple tinker trainer for going from 0 to GM using a minimum of ingots.  CEO's trainer was not working for me and it has always annoyed me that it makes heating stands instead of the newer jewelry options that take fewer ingots. The script is not super fast at the transition point from 25 to 35.  I left this dead spot in to conserve ingots as you don't lose ingots on failure with clock parts, but you do with gears.  I will look at how it goes and may change this if it hangs for too long, but you get a lot of free gains in there if you are not in a huge hurry. The script will save gears, clockparts and lockpicks, but will trash the spoons, bracelets and rings.  Estimate approximately 15,000 ingots and 10 hours from 0 - 100 tink.

WARNING: This script throws away any bracelets, rings, and a variety of other junk that might be in your backpack. Don't have anything you want to keep in your backpack.

Set Up

Be standing within reach of a trashbarrel
Have a tinker kit in your backpack
Have a secure with only iron ingots on the top level that you can reach
If you are working at the bank have the iron ingots in a bag in the bank box.
The ingot secure/bag should also have some tinker kits if you are at zero skill

UPDATE 25 May 2011 - Version .30 (In Testing)

Intriduced a new structure to the crafted item check that should eliminate the issue there
Refined Siege Perilous RoT wait gains.  RoT waits are triggered by using the script on Siege Perilous.

There are a couple of things I still need to put into this script which include, but are probably not limited to:

1. Full Backpack safeguard
2. Skill tracker
3. Open status bar sub
4. A wait in the trash sub for a full trash barrel (not necessary at bank). As currently built its not an issue if your toon is the only one throwing things in the trash as the cycle takes longer on everything but spoons than the trash cycle.
5. Menu control for halting the script that triggers backpack cleanup.

Used it last night to finish off my mid 80's tinker. No hangups, no problems Paul.

Thanks!

Useing this now and no problems at all. Would love a menu to see my gains but thats just a ++ I guess. It does the work perfect and soon at 100 now.

Thanks for the script.

Very Nice Paul. I used it from 90 this morning before I left for work and it was really fast. I think it took 2-3 hours to finish off the last 10 points.

The last time I used CEO's tinker and the last 10 points took me forever. I remember setting it up prior to work and comming back and it still not having reached 100.

Kudos!

This worked great until i hit bracelets.  then it never dumped them.  It looks like the dump sequence is only set off when you hit a certain weight which is not as effective when the items become one stone per or non stacking.
Title: Re: Tinker Trainer

If you restart it, it should begin by dumping, but that's odd and I will look into it.

Post by: _C2_ on July 08, 2010, 05:07:47 PM
I ended up running it with 7 clockwork assemblies in my pack to force the weight monitor to go off.  I just wasn't having luck for some reason.  Then it worked flawlessly.  I am gm now or else i would give it another shot.  It did not respond to three restarts at the time.

I don't know if it is the quality of my connection or what, but I have made ten GM tinkers with it and the only error I have ever seen is a misfire where it makes the wrong item and fills your pack with them. I will calendar a re-write on this with the update on the blacksmith trainer for the first week of August. Maybe I will just turn them into a single script...

A single script is a nice idea. Even better would be a Crafter Skill builder script that built up all crafting skills (Carpentry,Smith,Tailor,Tinker,Fletching,Imbuing and possibly ArmsLore).
Title: Re: Tinker Trainer
Post by: Paulonius on July 13, 2010, 12:53:19 PM
Sort of a unified crafter trainer, I like it.  Call it the UCT. I have written smith, tinker and tailor in a format that can easily be conformed into one script. Adding carpentry and fletching would be easy. The tailor script uses a second script to cut stuff up, but that doesn't matter.  I could probably use the same side script to chop up wooden junk. Not sure putting imbuing in would be feasible, but I will think about it.  Would be fun if you could tell it to do skills in sequence.

Post by: Masscre on July 13, 2010, 01:05:58 PM
Yes that sounds very exciting and most same skills (ie crafting) can be picked and poked to work using the same general build just do a different skill and maybe a different skill gain point or steps.

Script has been updated to address ingot pull missing multiple ingot stacks and to incorporate Siege Perilous RoT timer.

How many ingots should it take to get it up to around say 75 tinkering Paul with the ROT system?
Title: Re: Tinker Trainer
Post by: Paulonius on September 27, 2010, 12:39:05 PM
I dunno yet, I just started playing with it, but maybe I can come up with a projection:

Lets see:

I got from 23 to 70 using about 1200 ingots.

An educated guess from zero might be 1500, but its the same as on any other shard.

Once you hit 70, it ought to gain on every attempt and appears to be doing that for me.

The items I have the script making average 2-3 ingots per. Lets say 4 to be conservative.

5 full points is 50 gains, which at 4 ingots per would be 200 ingots.

Projected total ingots required from zero to 75 then is about 1700 ingots.  Total to GM would be 2700.

I think those figures are probably on the high side.

Post by: Masscre on September 27, 2010, 03:25:15 PM
OK it took 900 from 50 - 70 tinkering.

I have idea why this is hapening to you first question i have were u empting stuff into the trash barrel if you were make sure to secure the trash barrel so that way it will delete items as u put them into it instead of waiting the 3 minutes.  For example u have 125 books in the trash can u put the 126 book in there if its not secure the book will not go in the trash can and script will hang up but if u secure it and put the 126 book in there it will instantley delete one of the older books discoverd this when i was making slayer books with jaf slayer book script

Trash can should be secure, but it is not likely to hang up this script unless another toon is also using the same trash can.

I did some edits today and have a .30 version nearly ready to post.  Testing it out with a new tinker now.
Title: Re: Tinker Trainer
Post by: alonzo104 on April 27, 2011, 08:48:39 AM
Testing out your .30 version.  Starting at skill 25.0 w/ 124k Ingots in the chest.  Start time: 12:45pm EST.  As soon as I finish I'll come back and update this post to give the totals and time taken, and of course if I run into any issues I'll be back sooner :-)

First Issue - it keeps removing all tinker kits and placing them into the secure w/ the ingots.  It is also moving all the parts its creating to this box as well, at these early stages in training.  When it removes the tinker kits, it then pauses asking you to place a tinker kit in the backpack and click play. I've had this happen 3 times now from 25-52.

Alright now that it switched to bracelets, we having the same issue but worse lol.  It takes all bracelets, tinker kits, and ingots and throws them in the trash.  After it does that, it then asks for a tinker kit.  I've done a quick scan thru the script and I'm not seeing why its grabbing the ingots or kits in the throw away lines. *Update* I added Ingots and tool kits to the "save list" see if that helps.  *Replying to Update* That didn't work... still throws them in trash.

Going to have to abandon the testing on .30, working on finals and having to keep pulling stuff out of the trash is becoming a major pain every 5minutes lol. Will try .20 to see if it functions correctly.

.20 dumps correctly, however version .30 dumps bad.  and I don't see why lol... this is why I'm a newb scripter :-(

Finished Tinkering: Total time: 7hrs 15minutes
Total Ingots used: ~19k Ingots  (reason I say roughly is because using .30 it was throwing away ingots so I'm unsure how many got wasted into the trash before I noticed.

Tested .30 Went to 72 really quickly when it started making bracelet it wasn't throwing them in the trash barrel. May be the Item ID not recognize to drag it in there. I am going to empty it manually and restart it.

Dbl Checked the ID # IJG seems to be correct for the bracelets.

Just read the above post from mine exact same problems should of read it before  :-X

heh, switch to .20 and it'll take you to GM in no time, and drop the correct items.

I will take a look and see if I can figure out what is going wrong.  I just used it to GM, so maybe there is a typo somewhere.

Just to confirm, both of you were using this on OSI shards?

Yup i was using it on OSI no UoA or Razor running just a client.

OSI latest patch, latest EUO update.  No razor or UOA.

I found it weird on the .30 that 25-70 it kept dropping kits and ingots (and clock parts) into my resource container, then when I hit 70 or 75 (whenever it switches to bracelets) that it started to dump bracelets, ingots, and tinker kits into the trash. So as a rookie I'm assuming there is a type in the dump line.
Title: Re: Tinker Trainer

yeah, that is definitely a screw up somewhere if its throwing away stuff you need. .

i was using it at the bank right next to the trash can, but it wouldn't empty my back pack, so i had to do it manually. After that i switched to CEO's script, then back to this one. I'm still at 97, since i had someone transfer about of resources over to me. It was a good running script, but it just wasn't reading the banks trash barrel

There are issues with the current version of this script that I introduced in the most recent update.  I need to get into it to fix it.  In the interest of not destroying anyone's resources, I am going to pull the script pending the update that fixes that last update.
Title: Re: Tinker Trainer
Post by: Paulonius on May 26, 2011, 04:30:53 AM
I believe I have fixed the issue with the dump sub dropping a bunch of the things you need into the trash.

I added a variable to the setup that stores the IDs for the stuff in your pack.  The dump sub now checks this before taking anything out of your backpack.

This reintroduces the issue of having a bunch of junk in your backpack when you close the script out of sequence.  I will address by adding a skill/ control menu that cycles through the dump before stopping in the next update.

around 76.9 I hit a weird spot, .30 would no longer dump the pieces that had already been made, so I tried .20 and got a perpetual dumping loop. So I am currently running both versions at the same time and it is working perfectly lol

fixed it, I took a cue from an earlier post and put about 250 stones worth of rubble in my bag. now the script is working flawlessly. It seems that though the weight triggers the dump routine, item count doesnt. Thanks for the great script though, im at 97.6 now. As soon as this is finished, Ill be trying out your tailor script. Im making a crafter on my second account, so far Ive used your scripts for all of it. Thanks again.

I just ran 3.0 and i'm having the same problem as everyone else when i hit bracelets. Reading up a few posts someone said 2.0 ran perfectly, i just switched scripts and think i may have noticed a solution to your problem... the very first thing that 2.0 does is make you manually click the trash barrel, getting the ID i suppose to it.. so it works wonderfully in the luna bank, it even went as far as to dump the stuff i had remaining in my back pack from the earlier run with the 3.0 when it hit its hang up.  Maybe the dump problem people are having is that you don't specifiy an ID. I'm not a scripter by any means, i can just read through it and understand the code enough to edit it for my own personal use if need be from coding html in websites. I tried taking a look for an item type ID in 3.0 for the trash barrel so i could add it to the code line in hopes it would register the trash can in the luna bank, however i didn't see any (may have just missed it though). Still, i figured it may be worth taking a look into?

I ran .30...it ran well for a while but it kept throwing my tinkering tools in the trash....then when they were all in the trash....it stopped and asked for more tinkering tools. I first thought it was the non exceptional tinkering tools...but then I realized even the exceptional ones were going to the trash.

I am running windows XP. OSI shard. I ran the client without UOAssist or Razor.

I went back and ran .20 version and the problem with the tinkering tool tossing into the trash bin.

I will confirm back with how it does stat wise (.20 version).

Thanks so much for the script. I too was running Turbo Tinkerer...it is slower and uses ALOT more ingots to GM...

Ran the .20 version from 50-100.  Took about 4 hours, and used 11,273 ingots.  Not bad.  Thanks again for a great script.  I avoided the .30 version cause I knew it has issues from year or so ago, so I thought i'd just ride out the .2 version beginning to end. OSI servers, no razor/UOA.

Paulonius, firstly great script. I used .30 Had no issues. I had my secure with ingots 1 tile away, stood on trash barrel So no issues for me with that setup. I play on a no cap skill server with SA patched. Took about an hour and a half to go from 35-GM and roughly 4k ingots used. Once again Great script highly recommend.

I have to rise a new  tinker  (90 to gm) and found this build, use .30.  For some weird reason it make 2 tinker tools and 1 scissor.  When it time to empty main pack, it trash every tinker tool, ring and scissor after it stop because it have no more tools.

I finally get it to work after I empty my pack and remove the Set %BackpackItemString BackpackContents:

Simply change the dump sub with this code:

    exevent drag #findid #findstack
    wait 10
    exevent dropc %TrashBarrel
    wait 20
