The problem I always have w/ building my own budget system is the Case/powersupply/operating system.

These eat up such a huge chunk if you have to buy them seperate that production systems make it tough to "out build" them.

You start reading about budget cases on toms hardware and they are recommending 35.00 cases that are all plastic.....ya right.

Then if you want a good power supply fork out 100.00 bucks

Same for your OS often they are close to 100.00 bucks

So ya - for 450.00 I wouldn't want to spend hours searching for better yet cheaper components unless I was really enjoying building the system.
