This is to either brag or whine about my luck as it applies to getting a ANY DROP from ANY SPAWN. (Was: Berserker's Breastplate)
Comments are welcome. Mostly, I just intend to update my tally and chronicle the effort.
ACID RENOWNED
Attempts to date: 103
Attempt 41 yielded Mystic's Garb. 253 Essence and 117 Vitriol collected to this point.
Attempt 98 yielded a Halloween mask. I'm not counting that crap. 719 Essence and 325 Vitriol to this point.
ANCIENT LICH RENOWNED
Attempts to date: 8
FIRE DEMON RENOWNED
Attempts to date: 10
FAERIE RENOWNED
Attempts to date: 4
GOBLIN RENOWNED
Attempts to date: 16
Attempt 16 yielded: Valkyrie's Glaive

I don't want to hear a peep out of you until you go 0-50 after you pass that marker then your alloted a pip squeak! One pip squeak...not two!
Seems everyone has a horror story when farming Stygian Abyss Mini-Bosses.
I've received one drop off Renown Wyvern which was Storm Caller. All other Bosses I have received diddly squat. I'm probably 0-100 on the Wyvern now.

A little irritated by the respawn time.
A lot irritated that, in every renowned corpse, I get a garg armor piece that LOOKS like what I want. But isn't.

Heh, It took me 40 I think, But I always have to do one spawn continuously in order to get anything. I just sit down and dedicate 24 hours to straight pwnage.

your gonna hate me... I've only done the spawn once, I was needed the essence, didn't even know the plate came from that spawn. some d-bag ran up and started killing my renowned low and behold, I got the plate, I didn't know it was such a hot item till I saw how others where selling it for on searchuo.

Yep. I add you to my revenge list. Nice to know they are actually dropping, though.

Just thought you might want to know how bad the RNG can be. I figure I conservativly did 120 tikkitavi's before I FINALLY got my Basilisk Hide...I finally got it yesterday after MONTHS of trying for it.

I get great deals like that all the time, but only because people misprice items - Orny on Europa for 22 gp, 19 commodity deeds of 5k shadow iron for 4 gp each on Atlantic, 60k val ingots for 4 gp on Chessy, 2 commodity deeds of 60k bronze ingots for 4 gp each on Atlantic, dozens and dozens of BOD books on multiple shards for 22 gp each, and countless other comm deeds, arties, tokens, and other items, on just about every US and European shard, all mostly for default pricing!

The script is technically already written, but I don't have a copy of it, as the search sites do it for me - I just looked on them and then logged in and made the necessary purchases whenever I would find mispriced items.
As for writing a script that could be used independantly from those sites, it sounds like it could be an interesting project, and while I don't know how difficult it might be, it doesn't seem too impossible. Logging in might be a little annoying, but it should be fairly simple overall, depending on how many shards would be searched, the method used to log-in, and the timer used to determine when to begin logging in each time (pretty much like a BOD timer, I would guess?). The wandering part seems fairly simple, although I haven't done much with rails, but there is enough help out there for that. Finding and opening the vendors also seems rather simple, although opening all the containers on the vendors might take a little more work. And then the actual searching of items and their prices seems like it might be rather straightforward too, most likely by setting a list of items and high prices to pay, with the possibility of speeding up the scanning by ignoring items after an initial scan.
Anyway, just brainstorming a little, as it sounds like a lucrative project, but I am a little hesitant to take on anything too big right now (personal issues), although once those are cleared up, I would be all over trying to work on a larger project like that!

Done and DOne..... did it in OpenEUO last year. In typical fashion Ive only just started logging in again. lol Takes about on average 75mins per shard.

I am thinking after no drops that something you are doing must be corrected. It was funny to start but this is way way against the odds. How about a step by step run down on what you are doing?

The problem that I have come across is doing them sperratically here and there. If I can't sit down for at least four hours straight, then I never get anything.

What do you mean, Gim? I'm killing killing killing the Acid [Renowned]. I have yet to get a drop from him. I've gotten a couple drops from the Fire Demon, so I know to look on the corpse. Other than that...

Are you sure it drops from the undead spawn? Anyway I did 250 acid elys and it didnt drop. I was happy it dropped in luna though for 11M.

he changed what he was farming for a break. the beserker breastplate falls on the acid renownd spwn; NB knows that or he would be seriously wasting his time..hehe.. with numbers like he is posting, you would assume that he is doing the wrong spawn for sures. your numbers were worse than his though! That is why i buy this stuff.
