Title: anti-gm script?
Post by: EekAMacro on May 13, 2010, 03:23:08 AM
hello, I was wondering about the efficacy of an antigm script; something that while you are, for example, training a skill, would screen the journal for GM contacts. At that point it would wait some seconds and then respond something like: hello mr GM, how can I help you?. The thing is that you cannot obviously foresee what they are going to tell you next, and so it could close the uo client, stopping all the scripts that are working and making you immobile. You could justify that to the gms that you had a conloss at that moment.
Would it be efficent? Would the GM suspend/ban you anyway? This is the main question. Post your opinions please

The problem with Gm chat is that it isn't detected by EUO. Apparently they new chat system changed the way it was handled  by the client. The closest you can come to this is one that detects players who come into the client area. If you use the search function you should be able to find it here.

I'm not 100% for sure, but I believe GMs will ban you if you do not answer their questions.

If you don't answer it's off to jail for you... then maybe a 72 hour, depending on your "record".

Well since me and the gm's have become nightly friends of late  ::) (because of a little thing i'm working on :-X ), I can tell you the first thing that happens is a small chat pops up in the normal journal position lower left hand corner of client window asking you to respond. (note, the huge spam thing they use to do is gone, just about 3 lines telling you to respond imediately to them) And this chat does not appear in either the #sys or #journal entry on EUO. If you do not respond, off to jail. But your not necessarly banned yet. If you quickly respond w/ a wtf or some such phrase you go though the question and answer period. Mostly they just making sure you paying attention.
A quick hi at the initial encounter usually makes em go away quick, but the jail thing tends to last longer. Just so you know.

It's not a window or anything, just 3 little red lines of text where your normal sys/chat messages appear in normal lower left corner of screen.

Maybe we need to start paging GMs and doing some research.

Hmm. Paging GMs, usually gets as result a message button popup with standardized answers; may be different from the "pms" they send you when tryign to contact you
