UOSteam / Trouble getting Steam to launch UO.
« on: July 06, 2021, 01:26:26 PM »
Hi guys.

Tried earlier to get Steam to open my OSI account.  I think I have the paths and port correct. I have been able to get past the shard selection screen, but then it just sits there doing nothing.

Is there a current 'how to get logged in' walkthrough somewhere? Everything I have found seems to be very outdated.

Thanks

UOSteam / UOS Randomly losing data.

Hello all,

I've been having some issues with steam basically forgetting my loot list, certain macros, and completely stopping to loot.  Just wondering if anyone else has had these issues with the program before? It's really bizarre that it just happens for what seems like no reason at all.

I've tried 1.4.1 and 1.5 as well as various clients ranging from 7.0.45.65 all the way up to the current patch.  Can't think of anything else I can try to fix the issue.

Appreciate any info if you have it!

General UO Chat / EUO Always on Top!
« on: August 26, 2012, 01:05:11 PM »
Just thought I would put this out there for anyone that can use it.

When I'm in my office I only have one monitor.  So working on a script can be a serious pain in the tail with all of the switching back and forth from the game window to what I'm working on.  At home it isn't a worry as I have multiple monitors.

This little program will add an always on top option to your system menu for many program windows that you may use. (Doesn't work for everything, but the things I use most seem to work)  Simply hold your control key and right click on the bar across the top of the running program to find the options.

It's called Power Menu 1.5.1 and the easiest download can be found here:

http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/OS-Enhancements/PowerMenu.shtml

Have a great day, fellow scripters!

;Large Cloth Cbd - For large, 20ct, exceptional, cloth bods that give CBD's

;===============================================
; 1.3 - Added automatic book filtering.
;     - Fixed issue causing script to timeout for some users.
; 1.2 - Fixed a major bug with scoring certain footwear items.
; 1.0 - Initial release.
;===============================================

For the few that mentioned that they would like to see a tailor bod edition, here ya go.  It's built around my Smith BOD sorter, so those that have used that will have no issues getting this one fired up.  I did a ton of testing yesterday on the bribing system, and I think sorting this way will make it a lot easier to find the bods you want to bribe up.  Always up for suggestions though!

What it does:
Sorts Tailor BODs into 13 different book based mostly on outfit, but a couple done by reward. **Using 14 books currently to catch any mess ups with scoring.

(Easily altered to fit your needs. Currently set to how I prefer to sort.)

General Setup:
1. Need a container in your main pack with the 13 different books to sort into.
2. Book of BODs to be sorted in your pack.
3. Books need to be named as such:

Large Female
Small Female
Large Male
Small Male
Large Bone
Small Bone
Large Studded
Small Studded
Footwear
Large Cloth Cbd - For large, 20ct, exceptional, cloth bods that give CBD's
Large Cloth Kit  - For large, 20ct, normal, cloth bods that give spined kits.
Cloth Fill
Junk
Oops  -  Temporary 14th book. Name the book "Oops" and any bods that I messed up on will go here.

P.S.  Yes, I know the book names sound like you're standing at a human buffet deciding what kind of partner you want.. :D

*** I am also including a small snip that will allow you to easily get the score of a specific bod.  Simply leave one loose bod in your main pack, press play, and it will get the score for you.  If you don't like where I have a particular bod type sorted, get the score, find it in the script, and change it! Will make adding other books very user friendly.***

Please let me know of any issues.  Enjoy.

;-12x: Appreciate you giving this a run in

;===============================================

So, I finally took the time to get this cleaned up and ready for public consumption.  This is the first script that I've written from top to bottom, and seems stable enough to let others play with.  Be gentle.

What it does:
Sorts smithing BODs into 13 different book based on reward. (Easily altered to fit your needs. Currently set to how I prefer to sort.)

General Setup:
1. Need a container in your main pack with the 13 different books to sort into.
(Pulling books one at a time out of a secure is a huge waste of time to me, I have an idea in the works that will handle secure support)
2. Book of BODs to be sorted in your pack.
3. Books need to be named as such:

Plate Keepers  - Stores small and large pieces for bods that are worth combining.
Chain Keepers  - "
Ring Keepers    - "
BZ Runic         - Stores smalls that give 100% chance at BZ runic
CP Runic         - " but Copper
SH Runic         - " but Shadow
DC Runic         - " but DC
DCSH Runic     - Stores smalls that return 60% DC and 40% Shadow Hammers
POF 20           - Stores smalls that give a 20% chance at POF
POF 90           - Stores smalls that give a 90% chance at POF
Never Fill        - Stores large bods that are not worth doing.
Small Fill         - Stores smalls to fill and turn back into the smith.
Color Junk       - Smalls that you can choose to fill, or trash.

Other than that, it's pretty straight forward.  I hope it is of some use to some out there.

Scripting Chat / Runic Mallet and Chisels.
« on: September 28, 2011, 10:04:46 PM »
I'm just wondering what I should do with all of these things??  Do they have the same runic abilities as their smithing counterpart?

I've accumulated a few hundred of them, and have no idea if I should sell them or to craft with them?

Any suggestions as to what I should make with the upper end runics?  I'm guessing that the low level ones are only good for making starter stone war swords.  Do people in pvp/pvm even use that sword?  The only gargoyle characters I have are imbuers or throwers, so I'm not sure where to begin with these.

I would appreciate any imput you may have on the subject.

Scripting Chat / BOD Swapping Opinions Please
« on: August 14, 2011, 05:35:20 AM »
Hello all,

So for a great many months now I've been toying on and off with a script that will swap mass amounts of bods in one sitting.  I'm getting to a point that I can almost see the finished product over the horizon.  I'm getting into the sorting of rewards currently, and I'm not really sure how I want to tackle it.  So I would like to see how others handle their rewards.  Maybe it will help me decide which direction to go.

1. Do many of you keep the prospectors, shovels, picks, and garg picks to use in your mining scripts?

I know that I can option in to return them to the NPC, but for those that like to keep and use them, it would require even more containers at your secure to sort into.  I keep everything but the normal pickaxes personally for my miner to use, and if we are talking about running 1000+ bods...ugh, thinking of the amount of containers needed frustrates me a little.  The setup would almost feel too extensive to me.  What do you think?

I fill virtually every bod that I get, so when I turn in I generally get a wide variety of rewards back per swap session.  Used to sort things before filling, but that got tedious.  I like the idea of having it sort everything into separate containers, including runics, but part of me really thinks that would be overkill.

Anyhow, I'm headed out of town until Monday night.  But I should be at least able to check in here as time permits.

Would really like some feedback if you don't mind taking the time.  How do you sort?  Is there anything I'm overlooking?  What would be optimal?  You know, all that good stuff. :)

Thanks for your time,

MeWon

Player Templates / THE Disco Whammy..
« on: August 04, 2011, 11:11:13 AM »
Hellooo new and old SUO folk!

I'm back from 2 months in Thailand, and a few weeks getting things organized here back at home.

3 days back into UO, and I'm finding that my usual BODS and Sampire life is a little...well...boring.. So I ventured off trying to think of other things to do/try.  I have 'almost' every skill in game 100-120 on stones, so what the heck???  Right??

I'm wandering through the abyss on the trusty Samp, and come across someone tanking...mind you, TANKING...Slasher.  Thought to myself, "Wow, haven't seen that before".  I pay a little attention to this naturally.  He's sparkly, obviously disco's, but dang!  Slasher was at about 80% when I got there, and I swear, it didn't seem to take this person 5 minutes to wipe him from the UO realm.

So, next I focus my attention to good ol' youtube..  I find a video of one destroying Slasher in all of 18 minutes from start to finish.  Seems quite incredible to me considering all of the posts I remember in the past of the Gargoyle throwing gods taking almost 1.5 that amount of time. So here I am...

Bored...

Confused...

Disco...YUK!!.. (Thank you C2 for your disco whoopask machine!)...

Now, Mr. Obi-MeWonUo-bi knows that this is simply and strictly a big game type of hunter.  But that is what he does.  PvP is not an option on my internet connection, and big game eats me on my conn sometimes.  But it is all that I have.

So here we go...Sorry for all the wasted lines of text above.  I got carried away. :P

Does anyone here have experience with this type of toon?  I'm not sure what skill set to give him/her..  ugh..

120 Music = Yes
120 Disco = Yes
120 Fencing = Yes

From here I'm a little lost..  Do I go with 180 pts of Bushido and Parry for the mana discount? The block chance?  Or will the whammy pull enough mana AI bombing to:

1. Keep AI bombing?
2. Keep BOTH mastery spells running?

Here is what I have come up with, please tell me if it sounds realistic. :)

120 Music
120 Disco
120 Fencing
100 Bushido
80  Parry
100 Tactics
20 Necro
60 Spirit

Only plan on using 30 skill points on jewelry, but not sure where to use it.

UGH!  This sounds like an amazing template, but I'm not sure how to make it work.  Numbers above are for keeping the mana discount. I could wipe out bushido or parry and add anatomy.. ??

p.s... I need to be able to use pots..

What y'all think?? :)

General UO Chat / Possible new Broker/Auction/Vendoring system??
« on: January 14, 2011, 09:50:15 AM »
Not sure how many of you here venture over to look through the boards at  Stra"ticks"..  But I just noticed this, and thought it may be of interest to some.

Someone there scanned the new patch, and found some interesting lines of text that could suggest that we will see a vendor system.

Here are the lines that were found and posted:

I'm a little undecided as to what this may mean.  What it could mean for the game.  And if they were to implement such a system, if it would be a scripters worst nightmare or biggest wet dream..

UO Bragging Rights / Thinking IDOC's are my new UO love!!
« on: November 30, 2010, 09:06:08 PM »
After the past 2 days, I'm feeling that a name change to "Obi MeWon UObi" could be in order..  :D

I have never in all my years of playing been one that is into IDOCS. I've stumbled upon a few here and there with minimal results. Other than when the house directly in front of an old keep that I had fell, that was nice.  Always seemed like too much work, and a challenge to track the houses you find.  Let alone making sure that you are free around the time that a house is to fall, and competing with the others that are there.

Yet I think I have found my new UO love..   And since this is the bragging section, I really wanted to stick my chest out a little!

Yesterday a friend showed me a tower that was about to fall, and since I didn't have anything else to do I decided to hang out and wait for it to fall.  Not a bad find, and only a few people there. Scored a box of doom arties including a couple AOF's and an Orny, a few tokens for various things, and 90 lvl 6 tmaps.  I thought that was my one lucky IDOC of the year....

So last night/this morning, bored out of my mind, I decide to walk around using TM's IDOC finder just for the heck of it (Thank you by the way for that little tool TM).  After about 45 minutes of wandering around Tram and then Malas, the script dings at me and tells me that it found something.  Go me!! Another house that will be falling shortly after server up.  Mark a rune, make some breakfast, coffee, and I sit there and stare at the screen while reading posts here for about an hour.

House finally falls! Again, myself and two other people there for the drop.  I start looting, grabbing the entire box I see that has arties in it. Same with the chest that I see a token it...powerscroll box, etc.  Come across a series of bags with thousands and thousands of neon tub dyed bolts of cloth...Sure do love my bag of sending!!

Final tally:

2 Scout's Suits - 2 Knight's Suits - 2 Sorcerer's Suits - 5 full soulstone tokens - 4 Japan Promo tokens - 3 Xfer Tokens -2 Bleue luck sets - 3 virtue tiles - Inquis - 25 various doom arties (HoM, Orny, AoF, Collar) - 18 120 PS's including Magery - Couple nice statues -And on, and on, and on, and on..   Did I mention that I got thousands of bolts of neon cloth??  ;D

I sure wish that I would have grabbed the dye tubs that were there, but wasn't thinking.  Too caught up in the excitement of looting through someone elses stuff!

Figure I made a good 300 million gold pull off this one house.  I know it's probably not common, but extremely fun and looking to do even more IDOC's soon!

Okay...I'll quit sticking my chest out now. :)

Script Debug / BOD Scanning trouble.
« on: November 19, 2010, 12:11:00 PM »
Hello folks,

After almost a year away from the game, I'm back, and have decided to continue work on a BODing script that I started a while ago.  This was/is the first legitimate script I ever decided to do, so please bear with me and my scotch tape skills.  I know I could use pieces and parts of other people's work to make this happen, but I want to do it myself.  Since my work previously was in euox, I'm going to finish this in that platform, and will worry about converting it over once it's completed.

I'm having trouble with part of my item scan.  I've figured out how to pull and set variables for the item type needed in the bod, and the total number needed to complete.  Yet, I am having a nightmare figuring out how to pull the amount of items that are already attached to it in the instance of a partially filled BOD.

I've looked at s7's filler to 'attempt' to see how he is doing it, and lemme tell you, that is way over my head currently. There must be a simple way for me to pull that variable?  Any suggestions?

Thanks for your time.
