I'm coming back to UO after a seven year break, I quit not to long after SE launched. I looked back a few times, but never came back to the game due to a lack of a PC after joining the military. I just left active duty from the Marine Corps so now I have a little time and money once again. I built a $1500 to play all the latest PC games out there and after experimenting with a few and their PVP, I came back to the crack. I tried EVE, GW2, Diablo 3, and the Star Wars MMO...None of their PVP systems compare to UO though. As I typed that I just realized it's not the PVP, because the PVP now SUCKS. I don't know what it is about UO. I'm running a pure mage at the moment, getting pummeled by dismounht throwers or some other gimp form of dexer with an insane suit. The PVP on the dexxer side has become a little much IMO. Oh well what can you do besides adapt I guess.
I was kind of against going to an older game such as Darkfall, because it's so hard to get started in places like that. UO seems that way too now unfortunately. Way too many billionaires. I'm almost considering hopping on an AOS free shard that has a stable economy. I only played to PVP in the past. I belonged to a dominant guild on my shard so I never needed to have a crafter; we always had the money we needed to buy things. Now I'm on the most populated server trying to run solo with a bum suit and not much cash.
I'm 28, recently separated from the Marine Corps like I said before. I'm working as a police officer now close to where I was born in Florida. Life is pretty good these days I have no complaints.
I'm very happy to see scripting still works and there is a new community to carry on where easyuo left off. Well, I know it's still there, but just about every script I've downloaded there is out of date and needs editing. Looking forward to checking this place out.
