Title: Vampurai suit done! At last.
Post by: baldielocks on May 15, 2010, 08:08:44 PM
Just finished muh suit. Been hunting for a while for the jewels (before I left two years ago that is), but imbuing made it easy.

Resists 70 /101/72/78/75 (elf)
HCI / DCI 45
DI 93
HLD 50 / 30 (glasses)
STR 10
Dex 20
Int 8
HP regen 4
Luck 300
Enhance pots 50
8 stam
8 mana

No faction items, all arties and imbued arms / jewels.
mace and shield
Conjurer's trinket
Vesper Order shield
jackals collar
legs of bane
vet robe
crimson cincture
heart of lion
Ecru citrine ring 50EP/ 10 DCI/ 15 necro / 13 fire (499 intensity)
Bracelet 15 necro / 15 tactics / 8 DI / 13 energy (498 intensity)
arms 7 /22/13/16/20 (still 1 slots left) 8 mana

Weapon is diamond mace- 75 ML, 75 LL, 50 HLD, 30 SSI, 40 DI (gotta get more imbue ingerdients, then hit 100% di!)

I know many have something similar, but damned nice to get it done. And since all my friends left the game, you guys get to hear me brag :P

Now that you have the suit done....have you tested it yet?

Who have you beat up on with your new gear?

Be careful with the Conjurer's Trinket. If you fight Medusa, or other reponds, you'll get hit for double damage!

Is this True Only In dreams? Because if it is, then wow medusa will be sooo much easier once I unequip those.

I've been rolling medusa with those equipped for months now.

have not tested it yet on anything hard. I have regular thrashers down to three hits. I need to do some research before I hit medusa, but have a library talisman on standby for reponds.

I read a few threads here about hunting medusa solo on a whammie or vamp. Any inside tips? Have not been there yet.

Hit Mana Leech: 30%
Hit Stamina Leech: 40%
Hit Lower Defense: 30%
Mage Armor: 2
Lower Mana Cost: 45%  (No idea why this is 45 and not 40)
Physical Resist: 70%
Fire Resist: 95%
Cold Resist: 71%
Poison Resist: 69%
Energy Resist: 74%
Dexterity Bonus: 15
Strength Bonus: 11

Hit Point Regeneration: 4
Stamina Regeneration: 2
Mana Regeneration: 5
Hit Point Increase: 24
Stamina Increase: 24
Mana Increase: 26

That's my suit with imbued items, faction artifacts and Soul Seeker in hand. I run a human sampire. I honor her, enemy of one and then lightning strike nonstop. I can easily do this unattended as long as I have gorgon lenses.

manwinc, I had a friend start going with me to make it go faster. He used the Conjurer's and kept dying or redlined often. After switching to the Primer, he hasn't come near death at all. Make sure you lure her to a corner (we do NE) and then you'll only have to deal with one, maybe two things of extra spawn.

Soooo easy now with imbuing. I am leaning towards cervesa's opinion that it is a death knell for UO. Not real happy with it.

This is a very impressive suit posted over at stratics for those who haven't seen it. I would change a few things to suit my taste personally. Also the SA artifacts the Animated Legs of the Insane Tinker (http://www.uoguide.com/Animated_Legs_of_the_Insane_Tinker) and Basilisk Hide Breastplate (http://www.uoguide.com/Basilisk_Hide_Breastplate) are suit altering pieces for sure.

Suit is tough to craft, but not impossible.  Couple pieces done already.  That turquoise ring is going to be the most annoying part.  Might just have to buy the base component and imbue it.  8M gold is probably faster to farm than the hundreds of turq I need to get lucky with an exceptional 5% SSI with the right mods.

And yes, I know the chest isn't exceptional yet...like I said: PITA.

Since this is for an archer, I'm thinking Ranger's Cloak instead of a quiver.  5% SSI is huge on an archer.

Thoughts?

It's been a LOOONG time since I crafted any woodland armor... whats the trick, or how do you get +5 HCI on the pieces?

JaF

There is a process when imbueing woodland armor. I've been crafting them wrong way all this time and spending a fortune in doing so. I saw some pieces for sale on Ultimacodes and couldn't figure out how the hell they made a suit with that volume of resists and that many mods. Look at Hollywood's pieces in the image I posted earlier in this thread. He has 6 mods on his suit. I misunderstood the rules regarding enhancing, POF'ing and Imbueing.

I haven't taken the time to make the suits yet but after meddling around last night I am almost 100% positive that this is the process to achieve the 6 Mods suits with those level resists.

1) Craft woodland armor from regular wood with a standard non-runic saw (The key being getting balanced pieces with for example 9/9/9/9/9 to survive the enhancing process.)
2) Enhance with Heartwood (Gaining even more resists plus a "6th MOD"  such as DI or HCI)
3) POF to 255
4) Imbue with 5 Mods

I was under the impression that once you alter an item in anyway you could no longer imbue it.

Meaning I had to imbue the item first, then POF it to 255, then attempt to enhance it. That's not the case. You can craft, then enhance, then POF, and then imbue. I guess this is common knowledge to everyone but me! Why am I always the last to know. ???

I'm sure many others are aware of this but looking at many of the pieces on players and what's on sale clearly not everyone understands the process. This makes crafting a helluva alot easier than what my understanding was and your able to get even better custom fit pieces if your willing to take the time to craft balanced pieces to work from that survive the enhancement process.

Hollywood has 4 Mods in properties and 1 Mod in resists and the 6th HCI Heartwood MOD. This is the way to go!

Nobama looks like you and I imparted at least 2 mods into resists where if we enhanced a balanced piece we it would free up 1 Mod to use for Hitpoint increase or LMC if we so chose. So although we have good suits they can be a little better.

Back to the woodshed for me!  8)

You cannot imbue a sixth property onto an item, it doesn't matter how it gets on the item. (There are a couple of exceptions).  To get a sixth property, you have to enhance AFTER you imbue.  This also gives you the opportunity to get the highest possible sum of resists.  The recent change that makes a difference is that you can imbue something after it is enhanced, but this still won't help you get 6 mod items or the highest possible resist sum armor.

For the best possible woodland items:

1. Craft from REGULAR WOOD exceptional items with minimum resists in one or two categories that you plan to imbue. I do not want balance as it costs you resist point on the imbue.  I prefer a piece as imbalanced as possible as imbue works up from the base resist for the item type and negates any points that were added from being exceptional and from arms lore.  These are simply lost points unless they are in a resist you are not going to imbue.  The points added by exceptional and arms lore do not count toward your overall imbue score or as one of your five properties.
2. PoF
3. Imbue
4. Enhance

If you are using a heartwood runic, I think your best shot is to make it out of heartwood boards.

Ahh, crap.  I KNEW there was something simple I was forgetting**.  Thanks to ultima and Paul for putting me straight.  The three pieces I posted will just stand as my journeyman project.  Good armor until my masters degree in crafting is complete!

**Besides forgetting to POF before imbuing every so often.  Anyone else do that?  Expensive 'oops...'

ROFL - I finally crafted two chest pieces and enhanced them successfully.  I figure the RNG got stuck on a good number for that tile.

Unfortunately...they both ended up with the same mod: 40 Luck.

Can you believe it?  Still, these pieces aren't bad while I craft the rest of the suit:

Chest #1:
Stam +8
Mana +8
Stam regen 2
Luck 40
11/10/19/14/19

Chest #2:
Stam +8
Mana +8
Stam regen 2
Luck 40
10/10/19/15/19

Two pair of woodland gloves:

Pair #1
Stam +8
Mana +8
Stam regen 2
DI 10%
10/9/19/16/19

Pair #2
Stam +8
Mana +8
Stam regen 2
9/12/19/14/19
Mage Armor

I'm burning through skins like nobody's business.  Highland bouras fear me.

Looks like Phys will be the toughest resist to build into this suit.  Fortunately, the glasses give +25 Phys...

BOO!  I just got robbed of a property.  I enhanced 4 sets of arms, broke 3.  The fourth enhanced successfully, but didn't get any bonus!?

Arms:
Stam +8
Mana +8
Stam regen 2
13/21/19/10/8

BOO!

At least this suit can be built without any relics...

Hey - wait just one second here.  Go back and look at the woodland arms and gauntlets in Ultima's pic, then explain to me how those are possible...there are two or three too many mods on those pieces...

Do a search on ultimacodes for woodland and see what pops up. Below are the best two pieces I've seen so far for what suits my taste. I'm not sure how they're crafted.

I need to go back and experiment some more but I've been busy crafting elemental weapons and haven't made the time to work on any woodland pieces.

Woodland Gorget    Exceptional
(Imbued)
Weight: 3 Stones
Elves Only
Hit Point Increase 5
Stamina Increase 8
Mana Increase 5
Lower Mana Cost 8%
Damage Increase 10%
Physical Resist 10%
Fire Resist 21%
Cold Resist 8%
Poison Resist 15%
Energy Resist 11%

Strength Requirement 45
Durability 255 / 255

Woodland Arms Exceptional
(Imbued)
Weight: 5 Stones
Elves Only
Hit Point Increase 5
Stamina Increase 8
Mana Increase 5
Lower Mana Cost 8%
Damage Increase 10%
Physical Resist 11%
Fire Resist 21%
Cold Resist 8%
Poison Resist 16%
Energy Resist 9%

Strength Requirement 80
Durability 255 / 255

Those are imbueable, 4 imbues to mods and one imbue to the resists.

Drat drat DRAT.

I have been crafting my pieces without arms lore, thinking that the arms lore resist bonus counted toward the five properties!  SHOOT!

Oh well.  Good thing none of these pieces has 5 HCI...

It is a huge amount of work, time, gold, to make pieces like that.    You have to make except normal woodland items with the right base resist then do the following:
about 2 Pof
10 essence of order
20 lumi fungi
10 boura pelts
5 relic frags
Then "try" to enhance with heartwood and watch 60%-90% of them break, then of the ones that don't break you HOPE to get the hci mod or maybe the di mod.  Even if you farm up some of the stuff to make its at least 600k per attempt.
Title: Re: Vampurai suit done! At last.
Post by: NObama on May 30, 2010, 03:44:35 PM
20 boura pelts, not 10.

Also, some of those pieces are just not possible given current imbuing constraints.  Makes me wonder how they were created.

Post by: Ultima on May 30, 2010, 04:10:52 PM
We're in agreement Nobama.  There is either some bug with imbuing woodland pieces that someone is keeping close to the vest or those pieces I posted got grandfathered in before certain restrictions were implemented. The woodland arms and gorget I posted right above appear to have 7 mods not 6.

I'd like to see someone explain to me how to reproduce either of the two pieces I posted. I'm all ears....

Just did a little experimenting. Heartwood adds 2/3/2/7/2! 7 Points to poison..very nice! This is good to know and is what threw me for a curveball. Making me think Poison Resist was a 7th property.

The pieces I posted and we're seeing for sale should be doable with the method Paulionus posted which is enhancing AFTER you've POF'd and imbued. That is how I was originally crafted my pieces but I was placing 2 Mods into Resists.

Definitely a bold undertaking crafting pieces with properties above 90%.

Too bad you can't top off the properties after imbueing.

More experimenting to be done later. First elemental weapons!

I never, ever imbue poison on a piece.  I figure that helps me out a little bit when it comes to enhancing success rate.

How about that Ornate Axe! That was one of the first things I noticed on his suit let alone the armor. I can't believe no one commented on that Orny. What a gem! 8)

HLA 44%
HSL 50%
HML 62%
SSI 30%
DI 40%
Fire Damage 100%

That thing will deliver critical hits of 175+ to the right monster type. Paragon Cu Sidhe probably wouldn't last more than a minute against someone with that Axe. ;)

Those pieces are doable by setting the fire to 18 using boura pelts and then imbuing.  Personally I make mine to look like this:
HPI 5
Stm 5
Mana 5
2 resist one at 90% and the other at what ever is left to make the item 496 points.  No pelts used and only fungi which allows you to make 10 peices at a time to break 10 pieces trying for a godly one.

I've got to the point of only PoFing to 100-105 points due to the high break rate and lack of PoF for sale on my main server.  Doing this has allowed me to make suits that are:
Defense Chance Increase: 50%
Damage Increase: 59%
Swing Speed Increase: 5%
Hit Chance Increase: 50%
Hit Lower Defense: 30%
Mage Armor: 1
Lower Mana Cost: 1%
Spell Damage Increase: 3%
Physical Resist: 88%
Fire Resist: 97%
Cold Resist: 70%
Poison Resist: 93%
Energy Resist: 63%
Dexterity Bonus: 17
Strength Bonus: 13
Intelligence Bonus: 2
Hit Point Regeneration: 4
Hit Point Increase: 31
Stamina Increase: 32
Mana Increase: 32
Faction legs, Talisman, M&S and crimmy.  I use the Cloak of Power and allways wear arcane boots incase I die and have to cast when I cannot get my body back.

This is my main sampire and her set up is:
120 Bush, Swords and tactics
110 Resist
100 Necro
75 Parry for evasion which is godly for a solo spawn
70 chiv 5 of which is on the jewels
36 SS 26 of which is on the jewels and rest is natural which is enough for a 5 second curse weapon.

But I have a secondary on my other account whom is:
120 Mace, Disco and Music
115 Bushido
100 Necro and Tactics
90 Chiv
She is a knight for protection and can self res my main account.  Disco champs and Medusa, with the maceing she chews Medusa's stam.  If I have another guildy protect both account they can down a Baracoon in around 1.5 mins.  I run imbued and enhanced Gnarled staff's with her for 40 SSI, for Medusa it's a standard repond but for a coon I delete the repond and added 50 HLA to complement my main's 30 HLD from the M&S.
Suit looks like:
Defense Chance Increase: 40%
Damage Increase: 89%
Hit Chance Increase: 45%
Mage Armor: 1
Physical Resist: 81%
Fire Resist: 96%
Cold Resist: 70%
Poison Resist: 67%
Energy Resist: 80%
Dexterity Bonus: 12
Strength Bonus: 23
Intelligence Bonus: 10
Hit Point Regeneration: 10
Hit Point Increase: 30
Stamina Increase: 24
Mana Increase: 24
Faction Talisman, gloves, legs and Totem.

Thanks to all the great replies, I have been tweaking my set up. Last night added a blackstaff. Not as much DPS per sec as a gnarled with 40 SSI, but it works well.
60 HML
60 HLL
44 HSL
45 DI
50 HLA
10 SSI
-20% req
-2 weight

POF'ed to max and imbued then enhanced. I have made 4 blackstaves like this (swapping HSL for slayers). Only one has failed!
Max damage on a LS critical so far has been 159 (without slayer, honored opponent).

Changed arms for woodland arms, not the uber ones yet (still getting cash together as a returnee).
Changed jewels around for stats. Now sitting at 147 STR, 150 Dex, 25 int (57 mana). Looking to get sash and boots with +int.

Canuker how are you taking down Barracoon in 1.5 minutes? This is on an OSI Production shard?

Virtually every time I melee Barracoon once he gets to half health he goes on his Pied Piper routine and starts jumping and hopping all over the place. I'll spend over a minute and a half just chasing him down.

If I am in despise I direct it to either the lower SE of the isle or just above the west bridge, both spots he will walk around but comes back to you.  If its elsewhere I have to get it fielded or trapped on a ledge/group of trees...Disco'd + honor + EOO on my secondary account and a LS script = dead coon.
