I saw it in Korea years ago. It came out the same time as Res Dogs and some of those other "gangster" movies, so it didn't do well in the states. When it was released on DVD it was one of those cult hits.
It still ranks as one of my all time favorites. The Willam Defoe part is a little over the top in places, but there are some subtle parts that just rock. Some dialog that you'll miss the first time because of the accents.
Connor: Okay, Roc...
[Connor looks at him and laughs; his mask is badly put on]
Rocco: What? You guys got masks.
Murphy: You look like Mush Mouth from Fat Albert.
[as they keep giggling, Rocco takes his mask off]
Rocco: Fine! *bleep* it. When we're done, she can ID me. I don't care. Just trying to be professional, but nooooo...
Connor: It looks fine!
Rocco: *bleep* it.
Connor: Now shut the *bleep* up, you look good. Put it on! You look fuckin' scary, man!
[Rocco puts his mask on, again badly]
Connor: [trying not to laugh] Now Roc, are you sure that you're obee-kay-bee?
Connor: Jeez! It's a fuckin' six-shooter. *bleep*!
Murphy: There's nine bodies, genius.
Connor: What the *bleep* were you gonna do, laugh the last three to death, Funny-Man?

The Boondock Saints was my old guild in WoW. Never knew what it meant until after the guild died.

NOW that was a good F*****g movie
I must admit I really Enjoyed that. Might even be the best movie ive seen this year and its 9 years old. Really suprised i've never heard of it before.
Now im looking forword to the part II.

Boondock Saints always has been one of my favorite movies. The way its filmed, how it takes u to the crime of the scene after Willem Dafoe plays his part perfectly. Its a 5 star movie for sure.

Ok, watched this thing this evening. It's funny when a movie tries to be fun/serious at the same time, but I tell you this one pulled it off. I've always been a Willem Dafoe fan going back to his performance in To Live and Die in LA. He's waaay over-the-top, but he's probably the only actor in existence that could pull it off the way he did. The brothers were totally awesome and how everything comes together at the end is a real treat. Did I mention you'll laugh through it? But did they have to blow the cat up into a zillion pieces? Jeeez. I can't wait to watch it again.
I'm actively looking forward to the sequel assuming they can keep the cast as vibrant as they did from the last movie.
Now I need a Latte! I'll get it myself, thank you!

I'd have to go with 4 1/2 dead cats there. The conversion is 1/1 with possums thankfully.

I'm going to watch it again tonight in fact. I didn't realize how many quotable statements came from this movie. All along has been a cult-ish classic and I wasn't aware. Damn my hermit lifestyle!
But Cerveza, it's up to you to do a proper movie review. I couldn't do it justice.

Here's the spoilers: The movie starts by showing how they've since escaped to Ireland. Something happens back home in Boston where they wage a new war on crime. Throughout the movie we get to see a broader picture of the boys and their father.
Fans of the first one will not be disappointed by this movie. If you haven't seen the first movie/or if you are odd and don't like the first movie then you're in for a treat - because even those who don't know the first one will like this movie.

Now i am going to have to get it and have a look at this movie tonight :) By the way guys I am back. Father in law is still not so good but atleast he is eating now which means if he continues he will get better. I left the wife and kids there with the in-laws so i dont have much to do except work and script now so i will have time to finish my projects now and drop in some mods to a few of my existing scripts and have everyone look them over now.

Man, I'm all about the thread resurrecting lately, but I really couldn't help it here. Boondock Saints is by far one of my favorite movies and I can't wait for the 2nd.. didn't realize it was so soon already!
