Finally my main account is old enough to get some shard shields and im venturing into the shard hopping arbitrage buisness :)

Since I am totaly inexperienced in this I have a couple of questions:

If the Character brings with him soul stones, would those work for the chars on the same account on the new shard?

Is it wise to include an asian shard? There has been some mentions of items only on asian shards, but i havent gotten around to find any specifics: What unique items is on asian shards?

Have been scouting them out a bit and it looks like Sakura, Izumo or Hokuto might be a good choice: Anyone have presence on any asian shard and maybe have some reccomendations?

I just happend across this script and tried it out: What an awesome script! Worked flawlessly from eight containers and even if a spell was missing in the container or a spell already was in the book, it just continued without a hickup and filled the books. Thank you so much for this pearl!!

Hi! I have been using 1.25 w/clipping with great success previously, but now with euo 327 and the journal issue, its no longer working. Is there a way to work around the use of journal in the script?

Hi! I am struggling a bit to get this to work again (remember it worked like a charm few years back).

In the posts above it is stated that you need to change where the script clicks in the gump, but as I understand this is all relative in this script. Thats why you "train" the script in the setup by doing the mouseclicks needed to select house and place. The set up works fine apparently when i run it, with correct system messages all the way,  but then the script just hangs after you click start.

If a friendly soul had the time to look quickly at this and point me in the right direction (more detail on what to change to try to get it running) it would be great.

This is a great script and are still working as a charm. Have been using it for 3 idoc's now and the monitoring is perfect (after changine HIDE to HIDING). The looter also work when one is able to target a specific item.

As stated earlier in this thread: The public version of this looter loots for an item id (#FINDID). How would one go about to change that to item type (#FINDTYPE). I was thinking to build some generic loot lists that could be reused for houses where content are not known?

Update: Wow...after browsing some more in this thread...I found that I asked almost the exact same question in 2013.... Unfortunately without reciveing any help. Chance of getting some input five years later is probably slim....

Well i think i found a way using the Macro Options in the classic client:

Toggle War/Peace
Yell All stop!
Yell All Follow Me!
Select nearest   Mobile
Use Selected Target

If you dont start with the war/peace toggle, you will attack your own pet when you get to Use Select Target (assuming you are in combat mode when you get dismounted).

Now I have a Remount Macro mapped to the F11 key: Patchwork Skels cant hurt me no more!

Happy new year all!

How do you handle remounting your swampdragon when you are dismounted in combat? Is there any internal macros that you use (I play with the classic client and could not really figure that out).

Had the most embarrasing situation in Doom with my sampire while doing the golden skull and those patchwork skeletons dismounted me while i was killing the bone daemon. My swampy ran off and then i tried to double click it to mount, but hard to hit it under a bunch of skeletons and i forgot i was in combat mode as well. It got really hectic and i ended up dead and lost my investment of 1000 bones without a skull :(

(Next run i was careful to lure the bone damon to the side, but everytime those annoying skeletons came poking my heartrate exceeded healthful levels)

Had this script running for a couple of hours today (on my old fishergirl that got hauled out of storage and put to work). I think its just incredible that a script created in 2005 is running so smoothly and without any hicups at all. Every snag that happend was me, either not following the instructions to the letter or making some bad choices in the set up. ("oh i forgot she's a pure mage, why did i select mage+necromancy"?)

After about 10-15 minutes with minor adjustements, the script ran like a purring cat and the sea serpent population on my shard is decimated.

Thank you for the heads-up Crisis! You are quite right and learning a bit more about how the scripts work and how to make them will probably pay dividends in the coming months. But my future efforts will be used in bod collecting and bod filling scripts, where I have a working setup, that could be fine tuned more.

Sorry also for my snotty comebacks, it was uncalled for and I apologize!

Crisis: Im not a good, not even moderate, scripter/prorgammer. But I have gotten around 18 old scripts to work since i came back to UO couple of months ago after several years of absence. This one, as I have stated in 3 posts above, is just beyond me, i dont understand how the quest system works. "Keep at it" doesnt really cut it, since ive spent quite a few hours on this after my wrists startet to act up from the HW turn ins, without making any progress.

TheGhost: Its very nice of you to try to help, but I wonder if your realize that your comment is about the only part of the script thats working, so not really actual helpful. ;)

said3: I didnt know you were still active on this site, since this script havent been updated. Its of course good to know that you have a MUCH better script somewhere, that works perfectly for you. Always pleasant to have it rubbed in really hard... :D


Anyways..I got the Scrappers recipie (the hard and manual way) and i can get the runics via bods in no time, so no need to ever do a HW quest again for my part...

Sorry for naging on about this old and abandoned script, but i have made som slight progress just messing around with the cursor postions.

But I am totaly stuck on this part:

As far as I understand this part tries to toggle on quest item from the Character menu, but is not working. It opens the character menu, but then nothing happens and I am not sure what going on here to try to change it. Is there a more up to date way of doing this and get the toggle? Seems like this is the last part that would actually make this somewhat semifunctional...


Nevermind! I got the Scrappers Recipie from manually handling in Beer Taps.....now I am going to stay far away from Heartwood for a looooooooong time...

Someone should remove this script and park it in the old,dead, unattended & forgotten section...so no other peep wastes hours trying to get the damn thing to work. Just saying...

I am playing on OSI not freeshard, but I am not able to create a script like that. Thats why I tried tweaking this one, but its hard when you dont know what half of the script do.

For this specific script, the part that identifies the correct quest seems to be working:

I am still turning in beer taps an hour or two manually almost every evning....no scrapper recipie yet....

Does that cursed recipie really exist and is it really handed out from that vendor?

..or is it just a horrible myth...to torment a poor scribe...already mousy eyed from copying old scrolls an hunched from scribbling for endless hours only to be rewarded with a faster casting on a ordinary spellbook after hours of toil and sweat...

If someone with scripting competence would show mercy and sprinkle some wisdom on this script it would be like christmas/new year and Birthday - all in one package...

.... just saying....tu autem Domine miserere nobis... *sigh*
