IDOC tools / Re: TrailMyx's IDOC Finder v1.6

Can anyone who runs this share exactly how long each stage lasted in your recording?

update: the risk factor, I just wanted to add a note about why this interests me since it might not be obvious. Yes, I want to be there when it falls without spending TOO much time waiting... but that's not reason #1. What I'd like to do is run this until it catches a status change(doesn't matter which stage) and then have it halt the program and log out. If the amount of time a house remains in each stage is almost the same for every falling house then I only need to catch one exact status change timestamp to work out the collapse time with.

I only use the one account so staying in monitoring mode for days isn't really an option and I prefer fel side idocs so, again, sitting there for too long will eventually get me killed and possibly reported.

Thanks for the warm welcome. Yes I did, Cstalker, I seem to have worked my way through many scripts from the easyuo site now to help train my account back up. I had sold my main account to a friend when I left and lost touch with him not too long after. Each time I worked on a tradeskill I thought I'll fine tune the script to my liking and work it hard until my bank balance is up again but after hitting GM I'd move onto the next script, and the next, lol. I'm working up my old house placer account now, it as virtually skill free  8)

I struck it rich at an Idoc already, or at least rich enough that my account is no longer hindered for good items to train with. I found a container full of gold checks and a couple of nice(but not uncommon) expensive rares to sell and now I own a tower filled with all I need, anything more is icing at this point.

I am a bit of a Robin Hood type player, I try to help those that need helping in game. I have a vendor that I dump items worth less than 50k on but he can't be found on Vendor Search and all his items are free. If I see someone asking for someone to make a house decoration or whatever else the vendor may hold I give them a rune. If I was in a guild I'd probably drop off all the things I don't need there too if people could use them. I don't, however, plan to add ICQ back to my computer... too distracting and you end up sitting around chatting instead of getting things done, lol. I'm not sure I'll guild up this time around, time will tell.

Hopefully my scripting skills pick up and I can be of help here too. For now thanks for all of the help, I hope I can return the favor in time.

Cool, I'll see if I can figure out what's giving the error and report back later on if it's something other than me using the script wrong   ;)

update: I had a chance to take a look at this, in the script on line 246 it says "chooseskill HIDE", and changing that to "chooseskill HIDING" seems to solve the error.

Unsure about your Stay Hidden checkbox.  That should just work.
- bug report: I'm GM hiding/stealth and also get the "you must have 65 hiding to use this feature" error.

A bug report isn't the only reason I'm posting though, I also want to say "awesome script bro!". I had the opportunity to try it out once and nabbed a couple of choice items. I don't have access to the elite version yet but I am all about maximizing the usefulness of my tools so I had a thought/suggestion for this version, described below.

Drag and Hold
A lot of times the loot you want is inside a container and without pack horse support weight becomes a consideration fast. I can manage this a bit by selecting the chest priority based on weight/item number of the chests but eventually there is going to be a chest that puts me over the weight/item limit. As a stealther however I will pick up the chest anyway and walk away with it even while having a full pack(and even if i'm overweight). The thing is I can't try to put it in my pack or it will fall to the ground, I have to click and drag it but not drop it anywhere until I want to. This can be 3 screens away where its safe to sort a few things quickly.

How difficult would it be to have an option that, when a pack weight or item number would be exceeded, would still grab a chest(or other heavy item) but NOT attempt to put it in your backpack if that attempt would fail. Instead it would grab it and hold it, perhaps giving you a message as such and halting everything else until you've walked off with the item?

Sounds a bit extreme but it's all about dat loot!

edit: this idea gave me flashbacks of trying to protect my pile of 1000 ore as I skipped it along while mining way back in the day, good times.

Unfortunately you've gotta kill them to see what they carry.

Well, you're gonna love this :)

On OSI the instant one spawns your journal will tell you if it has a Tmap, net or "message in a bottle" in its possession. I'm not in game to check the exact wording right now but it's something like "is carrying a message in a bottle". If the serpent does not have any of these then the journal will only tell you it's a serpent. You can watch the journal when deciding which to kill or ignore!

... of course you need to be moving slowly to ignore them otherwise there would eventually be enough of them to kill you. When moving slowly they eventually get left behind. Perhaps a journal check can become an optional feature in some future iteration of this most amazing script.

You sound like me, I have 11 WoW characters at 90 all with max trades that, combined, can do everything. I even set them up to come out of the next expansion screaming with gold making ability... and then they go and turn the cool stuff into crap. Garrisons you can't customize? Trade skills that require no skill at all? Did they REALLY think I'd WANT to join the abuse that is pug raiding while saying "I love this" ?? Ummm, never again!

I think WoW is in a fight with Gold Farmers, everything they do seems geared to make earning large amounts of gold harder to do. On the opposite end of the spectrum Richard Garriott is embracing player transactions with his new Shroud of the Avatar game. I tried out the current alpha release, it's actually got potential, but it also has very little *new* stuff not already in other MMOs. Time will tell if that is their downfall, it sure isn't as fresh feeling as UO was in 98.

I think I'll split my free time between UO and "off the computer" from now on  8)

Great script TM. Thought I'd add an observation in one word: "Resist"

My fisherman has GM resist and fishes manually while moving forward slowly. When I get a serpent I quickly check to see if it has a MIB or TMap via my journal and if it doesn't I ignore it and keep moving/fishing. The serpent is faster than my ship and will stay stuck to the tillerman while casting on me but my regen armor + GM resist results in getting hit for 5-7 damage and its regenerated before being hit again.

During an unlucky streak I get 6-8 in a row without lootz I want, all following me, and still my regen is enough to not even remotely be in danger. Some serpents bug out after casting on you, they slow down so much that they fall behind and lose you. Some serpents bug out and never cast on me at all, they just wiggle behind the tillerman. When I see one with a MIB message I stop and target it quickly before it joins the pack and still I ignore the others(they all eventually despawn).

What I'd like to know is why they bug out, I could make them do it on purpose.

I'd like to keep doing it this way since I waste as little time on no-loot serpents as possible. Can you think of a quick way to check for loot before attacking the serp and if none - ignore it? If not its not a big deal, the script is quick already.

Cheers

p.s. GM fishing going on 120 with gm archery+tactics+healing+anat+resist+65 chiv

Hello everyone, this is my introduction post. I registered a couple of weeks ago but have been playing the game during my free 30 day "welcome back" period to see if I REALLY wanted to come back to UO after over 10 years of being away from it.

Well, the question has been answered: HECK YES I'M BACK! In fact I wish I never left, this is my gaming story/history.

Back in 1998 I was working the night shift at a tech company and my nights off were quite boring at times, everyone in the house would be asleep and the city has little to do after the witching hour... but I was wide awake. That's when I found UO and fell in love with it. I had played command and conquer before UO so I wasn't completely new to playing online but nothing compared to UO, I was addicted.

My fondest memories are of UO without trammel, without being able to lock down your possessions and before there was even an item decay mechanic in the game. I'm the type of player that takes the time to set up my account perfectly to accomplish my goals, I don't care if it takes me a day, week, month or even longer of "work" before finally being able to do something in game, I'm relentless!

I left UO to play DAoC, which in my opinion was the worlds best at PvP on a mass scale. Siege warfare for keeps and castles never got old(hint, hint, OSI!). When they basically killed DAoC with the Atlantis expansion by forcing ungodly amounts of grinding for gear and then having to level the gear afterwards, insanity! I jumped into Warcraft but never found the same excitement I had experienced during the early days of UO.

I took EA's 30 day free play for returning players offer last month and... I'M BACK! My philosophy on scripting is to consider it an aid, not a "do it for me" tool. I don't do unattended and find it a bit silly to pay to NOT play, lol. There are some tasks in UO which are so tedious and lengthy that I can't imagine doing those the grindy way, especially since I had once done them all before(skill gains).

I know a little about coding, but not much, and so look forward to reading your ideas.

Cheers!
